Hi All,
I got my S3 yesterday. After installing the apps I've noticed that the available ram is very less around 83mb or so.. I tried 1tap boost but the recovered memory is used again..
Is there any way to sort this issue.. I haven't had a chance to update the OS yet and am on 4.1.1 but I assume that shouldn't be an issue..
Please advice

There are workarounds but the only way that will get permanently fixed is by replacing your Samsung rom for an aosp one. Search around, this has got to be one of the most debated subjects in the s3 forums...

I am the new samsung galaxy s3 user and I bought it in hk and it is the HongKong S3 version.
It was gud but recently it show the very tricky situation when turn on or off the wifi it shows a strange sentence.
And I sent it to HK samsung twice and they just said the hardwares are no problems and fine...they believed that was software pro like apps crash.
Then they flashed it twice for original hk samsung rom....however it doesnt work and i give up to ask the stupid hk samsung.
I hope u guys can help me or let me know what its goin on....
Thanks so much

Am getting similar msgs about a running game whatever..... It must b some application i installed which pushes such ads or adware...... How can i know which app? Nd by the way dont know if it is wifi on off related but rather happens when internet source is toggled..... Wifi/3g etc.... Task manager shows no application running....
I asked my (Chinese) wife, it means "The Internet connection was changed".
I don't see any pics man
A quick look at logcat will probably tell you the offending app or process.
It means way of connection to the internet has changed in Chinese
I had a similar issue to this on a UK firmware with an SGS2 and when wifi was enabled it used to display a Korean message, I think there maybe some non-translated strings in this area.
Here is the text if you need it:-
網絡連接狀態改變
So do u guys know how to fixed it?

Well, there is no "issue" except that they've forgotten to translate a string of text somewhere saying "your internet connection changed" as previously stated. This notification is correct.
If you don't want to root it or flash different firmware you'll have to live with it for now.

Cant take a screenshot right now. But i know dat the phone is GT I9300. Very sure.
Google search shows random chinese results and random italian forums for such firmware. Where exactly did you buy this phone?

have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843934
definitely a S3 clone, no matter how many times u tried to look at it...
I don't doubt you bought an I9300, but the trouble is all the chinese clones are also I9300's... The difference is that most have a completely different CPU (mtk6575/77), are a heap slower and you can be assured that trying to install any S3 rom on them is doomed to failure...
I hope you didn't pay more than a couple hundred dollars because otherwise you got ripped off big time if it is fake... To check use antutu from the play store, you can check the specs and post back here to show if it is fake or not. If it says you have a dual core mtk 6575 or 6577 then you definately have a fake....
Thanks alot bros! Its most definitely a fake. Please delete thread an admin! Thanks!
since the past 4-5 days my i9300 ha sstarted to hang very badly and i cnt do anything about it. only way 2 restart it is by doing a battery pull-up. kindly help me.

Hi djembey, and do you think that it might be the cause even if I have the ROM with Samsung patch installed? For SGS3 it is XXELLA. It started to freeze/stuck last Saturday, sometimes it restarts without my intervention, sometimes i had to do it myself.
Thanks
Frostik

Hi leinad, I lagfixed the partitions, restarted, did a call and the phone stuck again - it did not even turned on the screen. Works again after restart (loooong press of Power button). I think I'll have to send it to repair center.
Best regards

Yes, it says insane chip. Memory check passed without errors. I have the ROM that should have applied the Samsung patch for this chip, but I think it fixes only the hard dead. It stucks with both, rooted and unrooted ROMs, I did many Odin reinstalls during last few days. I tried even a very old 4.0.4 and it also did not work correctly. I think it froze even with pure install after factory reset, I have to back it up and try once again.
You're both very unlucky. Insane chip mean SDS sooner or later. I'll use warranty to get replacement. Samsung reckons that in new Kernel is fix for it but people still reporting dead S3's.

Hi djembey,
I fixed it for now by factory reset and Titanium restore, but I think it will be better to send it to service.
Thank you

try full wiping your phone and install a new rom exclude XXELLA build because it's one the versions that cause hanging

I'm with the SDS model but it says sane chip. Does it mean it will turn insane sooner or later even with the kernel fix?
Alrighty! Play Store on the PC says that my s3 is AMT Samsung GT-I9300. Sometimes even without the AMT in the beginning.
No paid apps are showing, VERY many apps are incompatible. Started two weeks ago, rooted 4 months ago and haven't done anything like that after that!
I will say more info after some small hints or (try this and that)

to see if it's fake just check if the Samsung features are present

Super Strange!
A lot of people do experience frequently freezing after the latest update from Samsung. A few send in to repair and some did do their own magic stuff. But so far there isn't any clear solution. I think we ow a explanation from Samsung. This is a well known problem and people all over the world have it. But how can we get Samsung to take care. We didn't pay 600 € for a phone that freezes all the time.
I gues I bring mine in repair tomorrow.
Any tips?

Yes but I read that a lot of people got there device back from repair and they just reinstalled the firmware and that solved nothing. So I just don't want my phone away for 2 weeks and it didn't solve a crap...

very very few have a freezing problem a lot of the actual freezing problems are user error not a fault with the phone .

In service centre they will only format your phone, u can do it urself. They people only have one solution that is reinstall firmware.

Yup I would fully wipe your device and reinstall the update. This is one of the reasons OTA will always cause an issue.
But I think I have a problem. 6 months ago I dropped and my camera screen came off... so that problaby meens I void my warranty?

Do you have memory of dropping your phone or maybe installing an APK that is not safe?
Maybe that could be a problem for you.
Just a question, not the answer.

The last time it dropped was 6 months ago. So I don't think that's the cause. I also resetted my whole phone a few times so an APK can't be the problem either I think. Or the APK must have broken some hardware? Is that possible?
Since the latest update from Samsung I haven't had any problems with it! What I noticed is that when I clear the RAM memory it only closes 10 apps. Before that were 30 apps. Does the update just limit the RAM or does it close less apps?

I installed the latest file from PHN from sammobile ( I9300XXELL4_I9300PHNELL2_I9300CEELL1_HOME.tar ) After the update my broadband-version is I9300CEELL1 , Buildnumber I9300XXEMC2.
Another question. When everything was OK and I didn't do anything, in the playstore my phone was named as T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S3. Then I installed the PHN version from Sammobile and now it only says Samsung Galaxy S3. In recovery it also says Applied multy CSC. Should I get another region code, the one from T-mobile netherlands?
