Like me? I have an upgrade available and I figure I should use it ASAP. I'd go for the SIII but no international support (FYI: Note II does not have a removable SIM. grr)
way too big to be used as a phone for me..
I plan on it, though on tmobile rather then sprint
I'm going to get the note 2 on Verizon.

I'm a little miffed as to why the note 2 doesn't support SVDO while it's GS3 counterpart does. Even so it's still a toss up between the note and the S3 for me.

All of the phablets are too big for me. Hell, even the new 4.7" screens while very nice to look at, seem outside of normal size to me. I'd probably go GS3 if Sprint retention would offer any reason for me to upgrade my contract, but since they won't and CM10 keeps my MoPho alive and kicking, no need to spend the money.
I plan to at least check it out tomorrow. If I like it enough I will pay full price for it. Now way am I locking it into a 2 year extension when Sprint doesn't even know if LTE will ever come to my area. If I don't like it, I may settle with the Iphone. Either way the Photon has got to go.
This guy is, my photon and evo 3D are both out of commission(photon dropped, signal is rendered useless) (evo 3d, failed digitizer), so, why pay to get those fixed right now when I can buy a beast!!!....with the latest version of Android...and a cool pen, lol, but i'll still get my photon and evo repaired in my leisure time, but the note 2 is gonna be my daily driver for a long....long time

Bought a S3 off contract from some poor fool on craigslist who needed money badly.. 200 dollars was a steal. Note 2 looks pretty tempting, but i've got a while to wait till my contract is up. I have LTE at my house and various places around town and it's pretty nice. Battery life is better than WIMAX. Probably wait till the next big thing comes out.

Sprint's version has embedded SIM....thus outrageous international rates.
I was going to get this, but the lack of international sim support makes it useless for me, I have about 5 upgrade eligibility's that I can't use because of sprints stupid policy of embedding sim cards. Sprint has yet to release a world phone other than iphone's since the photon and I may have to change carriers if they don't release a world phone again.
Maybe later...
I tried it out and the size didn't seem to feel any different in my pocket (I was using a friend's) and probably would upgrade but I plan on moving in a few months (moving for school) and probably should wait to see what area I'd be in first especially since I seem to use my phone for everything but a phone most of the time.
If you're like me and don't like the embedded SIM, pay attention to this thread!

If I see real progress soon, I might be pulling the trigger soon.

My wife didn't get a good signal at her job with Sprint but her co workers who have Verizon get great signal. So we're going to switch plus I'd like to actually have 4g speeds.

What don't you like about the Photon as a world phone might I ask? Iphone blows as a world btw.
And I went with the GS3. It was a better fit. Note was too big along with some other things like screen I didn't like.

Hello everyone, I need help deciding what cellphone from sprint to get upgraded to, since they told me that now is the time that I can qualify for an upgrade, Right now I have an evo 3d, and I love this phone, but I have noticed that everybody's jumping to the lte's phones, I was thinking on upgrading to the evo LTE, but after reading on many android forums it seems that not many people like it, so the same goes for samsung s3, unfortunately those are the only ones that I qualify for, I don't believe sprint has the note 2, but of all those 3, which one you guys would recommend, thanks in advance
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
If you "qualify" for an upgrade now, you will still qualify for it 2, 3, or even 6 months down the road.
Seems to me if you upgrade now, its just for the sake of upgrading. You said urself, u love the 3d. If there isn't a phone out there that excites u, then hold out until there is one that does...that is what I am doing.

Thank you FanOfSkynyrd, I will wait and see what the next year brings

Sprint usually comes out with evo upgrades in June or July, so I plan to wait until then.

Might as well go onto the international forums thread and flash the 4.2.2 leak chus if any ota release that's said to be coming will hit the international version first. Us u.s people have to wait longer chus were stuck with carriers which they take so long to release.
Did you even read the article?

I see the One is getting upgraded, but the general talk is that the One X won't as it is outside of the 18 month window.
With the One X+ having only been out for 12 months, do you think we'll see the upgrade?
Sent from my HTC One X+ using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Can't speak for the international X+, but I can tell you for a fact, the AT&T X+ will not receive Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 5.5. We will only be getting 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with Sense 5 in January. I don't see us getting 4.3 either. The international X+ will see 4.3, if it hasn't got it already, and 4.4. Just don't hold your breath on the AT&T model. Your outlook is much brighter if you have the international model.

Thanks for the reply. Will wait and see. Being in the UK, I do have the international variant!

According to what I've read, most of the changes are to BlinkFeed, especially the ability to switch it off. I have that on the + already (not 5.5).
Considering the phone is just 12 months old, I'll be very frustrated if there isn't a further update to the os.

Yeah, me too.
I don't expect unlimited updates. But the phone shouldn't be ignored after 1 year.
I hope they see Sense (no pun intended!) and bring the update to the plus.

The thing is, our device was kind of niche one, because the sales were not that great. And I don't think HTC is in a position where it would make sense (financially) to invest in creating an update for our phone.
Plus, there's the problem of loyalty to HTC One X customers. The HTC One X is almost the same device, so updating the One X+ would mean they have to update the One X as well. In my opinion, you can separate the HOX from the HOX+, and viceversa. If one gets an update, so does the other. If not, then none of them do.

Yeah, I get that. If I had known that it would be forgotten about after 12 months, I wouldn't have been so brand loyal.
Just have to wait and see...

Well I too consider myself to be brand loyal, but only because of the build quality of the phones. I've been f****d before by HTC, with the Desire Z. It too was left behind before its time.
It's frustrating. I know there are arguments that we 'shouldn't' expect major software upgrades once we've bought a phone, but I think with the money we spend on phones, you should expect some form of upkeep for a while.
Sorry to hear you've been messed about before! If it happens here, I reckon I'll jump to Samsung or Sony.

I'm getting rather ticked off at HTC and AT&T. I've been an avid fan/user since an old HTC AT&T 8525 Windows phone. Every HTC phone I've had is always the only one that never gets updates. Other HTC AT&T phones get their updates, but mine don't. I have the worst luck in picking phones.

I'm asking because a post in the EVO LTE group I'm in on Facebook, a user said he went to a Sprint store and they told him he HAD to trade in his EVO to receive the discount. So I'm curious, are you 1) Trading in for minimal credit? 2) Keeping your EVO for a backup? 3) Selling it yourself or somewhere else? Or 4) Giving it to a friend or family member? I hope to get a number of responses so I may prove to the group member that no one is being forced to trade in. Thanks for your participation.

Keeping my evo for development purposes and to see how long I can make it till it bricks.

I already sold mine on eBay for four times the buyback credit amount. However, I still have one that has a bad ESN that I use for a WiFi device. It's S-off (facepalm), running the firewater hboot (2.10.5555) and I flash ROMs like a maniac.
Sent from my EVO using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I would most likely keep mines for a backup. Plus I'm gonna wait for the price to go down and there's more development for it.
Sent from my EVO using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Since I'm switching to Verizon, I'll be keeping it for a wifi device.
I've been eligible for an upgrade since last November. Just been waiting for a worthy upgrade. My girl had the one and ahhhhh it's alright. Nothing really to write home about. My friend has had within the last 3-4 months the one, s4, and the nexus 5. He really likes the nexus 5. Almost persuaded me to get it; but, I really think I'm going to wait for the LG g3 and keep this phone for a back up.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I've been eligible for an upgrade since last month, but I don't think anything out there is worth spending it on right now. Probably going to hold on to the Evo until the LG G3/Nexus 6/Moto X2 launch, then upgrade. And I'll hold onto the Evo at that point as a wifi device and media player for biking/running.
Haven't read much about the nexus 6, just maybe. You never know!

Yah know, I have two lines under the Everything Data 450 plan, with an extra 300 minutes tacked-on from a promotion they had awhile ago. I have the Evo LTE, my gf has the OG Evo. She is happy with her's, I am somewhat happy with mine. We're both due for an upgrade. I never upgraded to the One due to lack of SD card expansion. So, the new One has it. But, with all of the development of this phone going on, I'm almost hesitant to upgrade. Phone runs great on Viper's rom, so idk . . .
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
If I don't mind the another two years of contract, I would just upgrade to the new One (M8) then sell it on ebay, and keep using EVO LTE. For my daily tasks on my phone, I don't see the need of a faster phone then EVO LTE.
