My regular usage is around 40-50 gigs and no I do not ever tether, just that I listen to music via YouTube at work.
Should be cutting down quite a bit since I'm trying out Google Play Music now

Hey guys was reading in the radio thread and trying to figure out what radio is giving the best coverage and data at the moment?
Currently I am on 518 which is what the phone came with out of the box. Have seen some say that this is the better of all of them but have also seen people say to actually downgrade...
Let me know what your on and what your experiences have been.
Thanks will be given if you can help me out here!
It would depend on where you're using your phone, no?
I need something I have no reception at work or at home

that prl hack wouldn't be a good thing to use..as your data always is roaming via Verizon's towers which can get your account terminated for to much roaming, ill post a tut soon though hopefully once I get home..

You could try out each of these radios and see which one works best for you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193101
The 518 radio works great for me.

If I had speeds like that, I'd pee my pants!
I average 400 to 600 kbps at my home in Colorado Springs. I've tried all 3 radios and it seems they are all about the same.

My first time seeing someone let his screen stayed on and phone never sleep for that long period of time. You must playing some 3D game or watching some movies non-stop from local (meant from your SD card)
This is an estimate of how much a full battery usage for my Amaze.
I have no idea what he was doing. My Serbian(?) is rusty.

is that a pic of wifi panel app??? if so you like it??? or you recommend any good apps to hunt down rogue apps that kill your battery???
No its from the Battery Widget Pro app and that screen is shown (based on history data of battery usage) estimate time for each activities on a fully charged and a current stated of battery. The app gave a lot of information on battery but somehow it gave me a wrong reading lately when I did a comparation with other apps like Current Widget and some others.

Well then I would say that 2 hours of internet browsing and 3D game playing is pretty good.
Visiting my family in Romania and taking my evo. I just need it for the wifi to check some emails, light web browsing, texting with google voice, and taking pictures/video. I find it more convenient than my older bulgy camera for pictures as I can just keep it in my pocket like I do everyday anyways. They use gsm not cdma, so I will be in airplane mode the whole time.
Anyone got any tips or neat apps I should get for the trip? Will GPS/geo-tagging work there? Thanks.
Use labs from Google maps and download the apps they work offline (airplane mode) and you will just use gps, I done it before and im doing next week since I'm going to cancun I download the map to make sure I don't get lost

Lol no, saw that on google reader heh, that's what got me thinking. But I can do the time conversion in my head without thinking, I won't be using data, and I don't need the third.
How do you use labs?
Does the GPS work when you're in airplane mode? I tested it on my dad's GSII a few weeks ago and it didn't for his phone.

I've used NDrive for navigation in Germany where I didn't (obviously) have a signal. The program is free and you buy the maps for fairly cheap.
But that was before there was Google Maps caching. I'll try that next time.

Not sure if my Hotspot was meant to be blocked, but it's still working. I guess T-Mobile is slowly learning about those APN settings, or something.
Your take?
Yeah I called T-Mobile yesterday and was talking about the 5gb data with tether. They said that the engineers are working on blocking the loop holes that allow tether.

They are closing in on this loop hole, a lot of users have gotten theirs blocked and even with this it's still not working anymore.

You're probably not one of those that eat up a lot of data via tethering, from what I've been reading it's the ones that use tethering a lot for stuff like pc's, movies and gaming are the ones they started shutting down on.

We have no data restrictions but we still have to pay for tethering.

Glad the update worked for you. Near where i live i get LTE but it doesnt pass data or texts. (have not tested voice) I think the install got screwed up at that tower.
Other places around town, work for example, LTE works fine..
Im also on the verge at home. So i can see it switch from EVDO/A to eHRPD/LTE often.. So im thinking maybe they still have some work to do on the tower my phone is trying to connect to..

Yes, lte is fairly battery hungry, however personally I don't see a huge difference, unlike wimax, used to turn that on and my battery would be halfway gone in 20 minutes.
