Hello XDA! I present to you all a entirely stock based GB ROM for the Xperia PLAY! I started this after my 4.1.H.0.4 based ROM, and with it being completely based off stock I thought I'd do the same for our latest firmware being .79, feel free to use this ROM as a base for your own but just remember to give me credit somewhere in your thread, report bugs too please!

Installation (Initial):
Download the main ROM for initial installation, and any addons that you require and put them on your SD Card
Flash .79 ftf using Flashtool/Fastboot
Then flash a kernel of your choice (I reccomend LuPuS Stock ICS/GB, or Turbo Kernel)
Boot into CWM
Format system, wipe dalvik cache, and factory reset
Flash the ROM .zip
Reboot
Say Yes to disable recovery flash if prompted (Kernel dependant)
Play around for 5 minutes
Turn your phone off, then on again
Done!

If you flash 79 ftf the vender partition will be unlocked so i think its better to replace 64 phonix vender with 79(because this rom is based on that)

Close2Stock is based on Xperia NXT, this is based off of Stock .79
This rom is clean right??? So no SystemUi toggles, no walkman, no framework mods.

Yep, 100% clean, only tweaks are the ones from the Fluid Engine, and AdrenoBooster.

Go ahead man, it should fully work anyway, all you need to do is make some build.prop edits and it should work

Installation Guide
1.Download the Zip file from the download link given below.
2.Flash Stock .54 ROM on your phone first. Make sure your phone is running on stock rom only. Let your stock ROM settle and then proceed
3.Copy the downloaded zip file to your phone. (If the zip is not Flashing or has been aborted) Download the attachment below and paste it into your downloaded zip of the rom directly. Replace the previously existing file
4.Boot in CWM Recovery.
5.Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache.
6.Flash the Zip file and Wipe/Factory reset your phone. Run Fix Permission
7.Switch on your phone. (Will take time to start up for the first time as you've done factory reset it, have patience)
8.Complete the startup setup and let the phone to settle down (May lag after you've started your phone)
9.Restart your phone a couple of times.
10.Youre good to go! :good:
-For fastbooting guide for Vengeance Kernel, check and read through the instructions on the forum link given below in the 3rd Post.
-After factory resetting it your phone would only show the Sony Logo or custom kernel's logo, there would be no boot animations, so please be patient.
-Its better to set the background process limit 3 as I have seen a lot many are cached as soon the phone is booted making it slow and laggy. To gain performance you need to set to 4 or 3
CyberShot Fix
After flashing the ROM you wouldn't find the CyberShot app. To fix it follow these steps below:
-Download CyberShot v4.7.2 and flash it. Switch on your phone and switch it off again.
-Download CyberShot v5.1.2 and flash it. Switch on your phone and enjoy
NOTE:
-For enhanced performance, after you've switched on your phone, go to settings>Developers Option> and set Background Process limit to 3
-Don't complain about battery life after flashing the ROM, you need to calibrate your battery.
Drain your battery completely and then charge it completely till 100% and leave it for charge for about half an hour more. Download any battery calibration app from the market. After you've charged your phone till 100% hit Calibrate and let it again discharge till 0% then charge it again to 100% without break and you have a successfully calibrated battery! Remember do not restart your phone any time in the process!
-For unlocked bootloaders I recommend the Vengeance Kernel, as it has a variety of governors and I/O schedulers to choose from, which enhances the rom further. The Vengeance kernel does supports OC

-I don't know about Mumjeni's memory tweaks to be working or not because I don't use them. Try it out for yourself.
-DO NOT use task killers. It results in battery drain. And free RAM in android is perhaps wastage of RAM.
-If you're still facing system issues (Im sure you wont) Factory reset it once more!

Q.How to fastboot the Vengeance Kernel?
-See the link to the Vengeance Kernel, the instruction is given there
Q.Does this ROM supports Munjeni's Memory Tweak?
-I haven't tried yet, see for yourself
Q.There is no camera/CyberShot app in the ROM
-Please check the 2nd post, there is a fix provided
Q.The ROM lags a lot as soon as I start up my phone
-This might happen. Wait for 2 to 3 minutes and then set the background process limit to 3

-There are many features included and customized. Check for yourself
Q.My phone only shows the SONY/Custom Kernel's logo while starting up.
-That's because I have disabled Boot Animations for faster booting speed. When you switch on your phone after factory resestting it, you wont get display any kind of boot animation. So be patient.

Q.Why isn't the Sound Enhancement equalizer working?
-Its because DSP Manager from CM9 is included. Personally I feel DSP Manager is way better than sound enhancements as it has much much more deeper bass and very fine treble. So when you click on Sound Enhancement in Walkman it'll take you to the DSP Manager Equalizer!

Ah! I forgot to mention that! The Media apps are the latest ones itself! Walkman Engine 6.1 is also the latest release as far as my knowledge. And for 7.1 Its really hard, because its still not completely compatible with Sola, anyway AC!D audio engine 5 wont disappoint you, you can flash the other versions anytime you want

Like I said I modified the ROM to suit my needs basically which includes best music quality. and AC!D Audio Engine actually enhances the sound quality too. I'm uploading it now, try it out for yourself!

no need for gapps main apps are included in rom ... there are two search apps i haven't installed gapps , remove keep always asking google play services and mxplayer always asks latest codecs ... everything ok keep the the rom as lite as possible in next update

well it looks awesome because it looks like AOSP but... BUT cybershot mod [with better camera quality] doesn't work also m7 mod [skip track via volume button] mod doesn't work and statusbar doesn't have quck buttons so this rom is looking awesome but need a little more work

OH I thought that if it is based on 4.0.4. that it will be on .587 also it worked for me on a suave kernel that it is sony stock well than that explains everything well I'm going for a search of a stock sony rom without all those useless apps cheers
Currently downloading your Rom...I was in search of ICS rom with 720 recording feature and log... brother one thing is confusing for me....you said it is not based on CM9..but kernel you provided is CM9 based...plz explain could we flash stock or modifed ICS kernel based on sony...or we need to flash CM based kernel for this rom.

How to install from another ROM
Copy the .zip files to your CD card
Boot into CM recovery
Make a backup
Factory Reset
Format system
Format dalvik cache
flash the .zip packages (ROM > patch if needed > wifi modules > baseband libs)
Reboot (Remember, first boot ALWAYS takes the longest)
Go through the setup process
leave to settle for 5-15 minutes
Open super user and update the binary files
Reboot
Your ready to go!
How to make this ROM Better/Faster
Remove setup guide once the ROM is installed (it uses 2.1MB of RAM and a super small amount of CPU power)
Disable ALL animations (Animations take about 0.2 seconds to complete, remove them to load menus instantly)
Update SuperSU apk using the app store
Update SuperSU binary files from within the app

Status bar fc whenever I tried to remove notification.. Unable to install new binary to gain root access.. Other than this everything seems to be ok waiting for add-on's

I tested it and I came to a small number of Roma Rates widget and many stylish visuals does not look very plain and statusbar on the bench, but I believe could be better, I think it may be best developed fast and stable rom.Increased the number of widget.

The ROM is light which is why it isn't exactly eye candy. There are so many flashable packs out there for you guys to install

Just wait,now the ROM isn't booting (is the fifth boot that i do with this ROM)..........Stuck on sony logo on the fifth boot
If u want to install it you have to make 3 wipes

First i need to flash stock .54 move , delete build.prop and copy your newest build.prop to your rom, then extract your kernel and flash it using fastboot.. In next move I need to do any wipes or not ?

How is the multitasking working?
Because on DevSwift's rom it's very hard to use Facebook and Whatsapp together, for example, but it's not his fault: I think that 512 mb of ram is not enough for SONY's JB.

FAQ:
1.Device dosent boot?
A: Try Force rebooting once (Volume up + Power key) till you feel 1 vibration
2.Device takes long time to boot.
A:Have Patience Hard reboot if its more than normal
3.Cant Install any other SystemUI mods with this rom.
A:The Honami ported framework supports Quick Toggles only for now (tested).
Serajr Toggles aren't supported yet.
4.Wifi Dosent work.
A:Reflash your kernel(modules)
5.Brightness bar,Notification Led and Illumination bar wont work?
A: Use the Illumination Bar app,configure it and reboot.

6.After Changing kernel,my device lags!
A: Open terminal emulator and type
su <Enter>
uninstaller<enter>
This will remove the tweaks from your device

yes i think he's right. also, try comparing FWs .400 and .100 on antutu and see who gives a better score

I havent tried. 100 yet.
Technically it has an updated walkman and super stamina.
Dunno if it affects peformance.
Anyone here who has tried tell me so that i can push an update :thumbup:
Okay so i flashed the rom, it's smooth for now, i like the honami UI, for now i got no launcher redraws, no walkman Fc, and i use the default kernel, i haven't flashed any other kernel, but I think it's better to move to .100 because it's more stable than 0.400. and one more thing, Antutu benchmark Fc's at 3D graphics, and also i cannot synccronize my contats from my google account

Update : now i have changed to another kernel i got a score of 9440 at antutu, but it became laggy

Antutu Scores can be faked easily. Real performance is what matters.
Stock kernel gave best compatibility with tweaks so thats included.Please use that.
As requested i'll update to .100 firmware soon.
