Guys, the Black scratches pretty easy. I swapped my silver last week and I had a case on it but had the case off and set the phone down on my desk and then noticed a few marks on the back that wont come out.
So I'm going back to the silver one. The black looks nice, but I like to go caseless sometimes

I agree about the scratches but the black still looks better and a clear case solves the problem!
Get a minimalist case or clear body skin, and the black is golden.
I almost bought the black and thought it'd scratch and fade so I bought the silver. Glad I did.

+1 what he said.
I've been running caseless on mine for almost 2 weeks, no scratches.
I set my phone down on granite, desk, coffee table, wood table and nothing...yet
I'm sure I'll get the occasional scuff but that is the life of a mobile device.
Yea I wouldn't trade my silver for the black one because the black just looks to like every other phone at first glance. The silver just stands out so much more and is better with finger prints. Every time I pull out the silver one somebody ask about it because it's so beautiful
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
The black shows fingerprint and oil really easily, which I dislike.
I was in a dilemma with choosing the black or silver. Walked out the door with the silver today from best buy....LOVING IT...no regrets.

They had a demo device at the Costco in Winchester, VA. As I was looking at it, a couple people walked by and asked the vendor if that was the iPhone 5. Needless to say, I immediately made my mind up to get the silver. LOL
(The funny thing is that I don't think the vendor in Costco even carries any iPhones...)

Walked into the AT&T store yesterday with every intention of getting black and left the store with silver. The black display model had scratches on the back and I didn't think it looked as good in person as it did on some of the pictures I have seen online. Silver is just downright sexy.
Hands down currently the best looking android device!

I originally wanted black but p4u only had white and I'm chuffed with it. I have read somewhere that the black ones show up marks but cant find where I've read it now.

The white one for sure. The black one apparently gets scuff marks.
Well the white definitely looks better, i had a white one and loved it. Was stuck in the shop at least 10 mins just by choosing color
as regards to durability I heard of the back cover got a special coating that prevents stains. And some guys on YouTube posted a white version with markers been drawn all over and removed with just a eraser.

White one here from P4U was not sure until I used it in the shop. Get a microfibre as well so you can wipe it. even with screen protector on it by default you will want to clean it lol.

i was planning to get black but there is no color choice for me so i got the white one.
I am really confused on which one to get. The white one looks better but a few have commented that it gets scratches and gets dirty easier than the black one. The black one does not look as good as the white one but it hides scratches and dirt easily.

I love the matte black one
I think the bar lights up better against the black body - visually speaking of course since it should have the same brightness on both models.
Just picked up a white one. Went into P4U expecting to prefer the black but actually preferred the white.
All personal preference of course, the black ones still look great to me

Were you able to see both in person and still prefered the white after seeing both?
I took the white one. But that was because i couldn't get a black one on release date. In fact i allready had pre-ordered a black one. But cancelled it.
But the truth if is i'm realy happy with the white one. It's deffrent. Black is so mainstream almost all smartphones are black. With the white one you might get some looks. On distance you can't realy see what kind of phone people got because they are all black.

I think that i am leaning more to the white. But dont you have any problem maintaining it? I am planning to put it inside a leather belt case.
White all the way. Looks superior to the black and much more sexier.
So far no problems keeping it clean. If you keep it in a dirty environment, get a case!

I think the black one looks better.. You will see every person on the streets with the white xperia s. No matter which colour you get, you will think the other colour is better.
Can you give me some suggestions on what color should i buy. White or Black?
someone told that the white one is easily attract a dirt on it. is it true?

The Black one, showy things are not for me.
I've had both now, the white one didn't pick up any dirt to be honest. It does show up dents and scratches pretty badly though and I ended up claiming for a new one on my insurance. I've now got the black and as a phone and lookwise I think it's nicer than the white. The white was fun for a while, but the black just looks that bit better.

I try to wipe it off, it does not go away. I browse to another page, it is still there. Wtf?? Do I have to send this thing back or what? Am I the only one?

If it's been less than 14 days since your purchase you will want to go back to the place you bought it or another corporate Verizon store (assuming you purchased it from a corp store in the first place) and they will give you a brand new replacement.
If it has been more than 14 days you will need to call Verizon or go into a corporate Verizon store to have them issue a warranty replacement.
Good luck!
PS. Depending on when you bought it you may be included in Verizon's "extended holiday return policy" in which case you would have until January 15th to go into a corp store and have it replaced.
I noticed one on my screen too. It's fairly small, and for me, it's not worth the effort to try and get a replacement. You can only really see it over a white background. I also noticed that there may be a second similar spot at the very top edge of my screen. I use a battery app that displays the battery level as a bar across the top of the screen. When I view it at an angle a small part of the bar appears darker. NBD really.
Yeah I had the same thing. I took it into vzw and they took one look at it and ordered me a warranty replacement immediately. Put a dead pixel test app on your phone in case you get a stubborn salesman.
Try this one.

Is there are blue splotch on your replacement or no?
PS I heard that the blue splotches were caused by too much pressure on the phone, for example, Verizon's case caused quite a few people to get the blue spot. How did the rest of you get the blue spot?

I have the vzw tpu case and I do suspect that it is the cause of the creaky back cover. My replacement was perfect until I put the case on. I peeled it off and then it started to creak. It is super snug.
I have the Verizon case, you think it's causing it?

That's what I have too Jay. I don't think its so much the pressure while its on, its the wear and tear of taking it off. My replacement didn't creek and was solid until I put on and took off my you case. It flexes the back cover and is probably a screen component underneath. New one no blotches yet. We will see.

Not really a test or good comparison but as you can tell, the guy even says that the black one is more prone to reveal scuffs and scratches. Not trying to turn this into a Silver vs Black debate. If you're the type that takes good care of your phones...the stealth black is perfect. If you dislike finger oily prints..get the silver. All in all, the HTC One is a true winner.

Mine is holding up pretty well, it's been only a week though. I bought an extreme guard screen/back protector from eBay (protects the front and back and is super durable).

i went with the silver. i was about to purchase the gunmetal grey at the att store but the employee told me they just got in a couple silver ones.
Gray was all they had left, so I went with the obvious because I didn't want to wait. Gonna get a case anyway.
Silver is the best. Did not care for the gold, looks a bit feminine to me!
Gunmental looks great but it shows scratches almost as bad as black and something about the speaker grilles made them appear to be stuck on decals.
Silver, OTOH, looks perfect. Same finish as a Macbook Pro!
And being the underlying metal is aluminum, scratches, even deep ones, won't stick out like a sore thumb.
Personally I like the appearance of black the best as was my M7 BUT you have to be super duper careful because scratches, even smaller ones, are GLARINGLY obvious. If you're even mildly OCD they will haunt you like a small, hard object in your sock poking at your foot with every step...

Funny you mention this. The way it's implemented, probably not...
However, when the GS3 came out I bought one in white and liked it...sort of. Until the LED lit up and I could see the entire area AROUND the LED glowing. Hated how that looked. Of course on SEC and Apple devices black is the way to go because a light bezel around the screen doesn't do it for me. Just makes things harder to read.
Again, IMHO/E, of course.
I wanted the gold but they were on backorder. So i got the Arctic silver and I'm happy with it.
