[Q] Unhide Play Store - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello xda world,
I have a personal android device that I have joined to my companies network and as part of the MDM policy the google play store gets hidden. Company is 60k+ employees, so there's no hope of getting an exception.
So far I've managed to side load about 90% of the applications I need via android drawer but this only works for free apps, I can't load any of the apps I've purchased from the Play store without the play app.
I have tried to sideload the play store, and it seems to install fine, but doesn't show anywhere in the app drawer, or under the app information in the settings menu.
I've also tried to go to play.google.com to install via web, but the device in question isn't listed as an available target for install (presumably because I've never logged into play from it).
I have read-only filesystem access to the device, is the a way to manually execute the binary that launches the play store? If so, does anyone know where it's located? I checked /system/apps/ and it's not there.
Any other ideas on how I can unhide or launch the play store app so I can get my purchased apps loaded back onto my device?

If you can't see the Play Store in the app drawer, it isn't installed properly. If you wish to try, install Terminal Emulator and run this command (to open the Play Store):
Code:
am start -n com.android.vending/.AssetBrowserActivity

[Q] Using Play Store without installing Google services

Hi all
Before that, I was on CM 10.2 and GAPPS that comes with it, I was able to use the market even though I uninstalled the Google services apk, everything worked just fine.
Maps sometimes said somethin' like "best experience with google services", but it actually did work smoothy...
Now I installed CM11 with new GAPPS, and when I disable Google services, then Play store tells me that it can't run without it, and just closes without letting me download any app.
Is there any way do bypass this check ?
I fight any app running as a service when it's not needed (battery life, data consumsion, privacy), that's why I don't want to have the Google services on my phone.
Thanks for sharing your experience
Tried some search on the forum and on google but no chance, am I the only one to care about that !?
Just trying to get my message up again...
Hey, I think I've discovered a way to do this. it DOES require google play services to be installed, but you can freeze google play services completely once you install it.
Open terminal emulator and enter this command
Code:
pm disable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.recovery.RecoveryService
and then I think it should let you use the play store.
to undo this in case anything bad happens, just enter
Code:
pm enable com.google.android.gms/com.google.android.gms.recovery.RecoveryService
Edit: Never mind. This will let you open the Play Store, but you will not be able to download apps.

How to download apps from Google Play Store if they are blocked in our country.
a) With using VPN:
As you know, Google Play Store is not showing all of the apps in many countries. Like in Georgia, etc. There are few apps that you can download, but there aren't any apps like Viber, etc. There are separate ways to avoid this problem. One of them is VPN. That means, that you can acces Google Play Store with another country's IP address, where are every apps unlocked. There are many, safe and free VPN application, which you can download. I will show you some of the very popular VPN applications with instructions, which helps you to use app and make applications unlocked in Play Store.
Hotspot Shield is the most popular VPN client for Android. - Here is instructions:
1. Download Hotspot Shield VPN and install it to your smartphone (Just install, don't open yet)…
2. Then go to the installed apps (Settings -> Application manager) and go to tab ALL. There we must find Google Play Store and tap on Clear data and Clear cache.
3. Now open our installed app (Hotspot shield VPN). There will be a little pop-up. We're gonna check I trust this application here and Accept. After that app will start connecting and in few seconds it will connect to USA server…
Hola - Here is instructions:
1. Download Hola and install it to your smartphone.
2. Then go to the installed apps (Settings -> Application manager) and go to tab ALL. There we must find Google Play Store and tap on Clear data and Clear cache.
3. Open Hola, check I trust this application and OK.
4. Open Google Play Store. There will be a little window on the right side with title " browsing from". Select USA here, then accept Google Play terms of service and that's all.
Psiphon (very easy) - Here is instructions:
1. Download Psiphon and install it to your smartphone.
2. Then go to the installed apps (Settings -> Application manager) and go to tab ALL. There we must find Google Play Store and tap on Clear data and Clear cache.
3. Open Psiphon and select Start until the little key appears on the status bar.
4. Open Play Store. While using Psiphon, your internet connection may be slow, but you can easily disable it by swiping down the status bar and select Disable.
b) Other methods:
Open Play Store FOREVER (Using Google Wallet) - Here is instructions:
1. You must be registered on Google Wallet (it's necessary to register using USA address) with working credit card (payment method-add, If it's not adding, call bank! After adding, the service will take 1$ from you and they'll return in 1-2 hours).
2. In PC browser, you must delete cookies and set-up USA Proxy (chrome-ს extension: proxmate or Hola). You must login to play.google.com using your mail and download a free app, but which is not available in your country (Proxy will download it freely).
3. After 2-3 days, Google will think that you are American and your Play Store will work without proxy + it will unlock on phone too.
Open Play Store FOREVER (Using Google Opinion Rewards) - Here is instructions:
1. Download Google Opinion Rewards.
2. Open app. ( This is an app by Google, which allows you to make money by taking surveys and buy any app on Play Store)
3. After registering, after some minutes, the survey will appear. Complete it and you will get 1$.
4. After getting your 1$, go to Play Store using your phone or PC and buy any app. After you tap on Buy, Opinion Rewards balance will appears (1$ for now)and you can buy without any problems, without credit card. (To buy an app, you may need a one-time-use VPN. Then just buy any app which costs 0.99$ or lower. You can Refund you money after your payment, money back, Play Store unlocked! )
5. After half an hour, you will automatically have an unlocked Play Store. This method is better than VPN, cause the internet speed doesn't get decreased!
Good luck,
Gio.

Hi All. Please Help!!! I Installed Psiphon Set To United States Whole Device, Cleared Cache And Data To Google Play Store But Still Not Working.

Market intercepts

How do I stop the market intercepts from occurring? Anytime an app goes to open Google play store it gets intercepted. I did a search from my phone but didn't find anything.
Block the appstore: pm disable com.amazon.venezia
More info here.
Do what he says (or I just used a root explorer and deleted), but if you're like me and use some amazon apps (which need the appstore 100% of the time for license checks), what I did was install the normal , more subservient amazon appstore afterwards. It won't seem to let me install anything but the apps I already had installed verify license just fine

Apps no longer showing permissions when installing on Play Store.

Is this a new update? The Play Store used to show me what permissions the app required before installing. Now it just installs the app without that pop-up. Can I get that feature back? I can't find any information on it anywhere. My phone is running 7.1. Thanks!

Cleared Play Store data, now all the apps are missing

Hello,
I have a rooted Oneplus 3T with android 6.0.1.
I tried to use the Freedom app, but it gave me problems with the Play Store, so I uninstalled it and restored the hosts file.
But I still had problems with in app purchases and the Play Store always asked me to accept Terms and Conditions.
Clearing Play Store cache didn't help, so I cleared Play Store data and everything is working now.
The only problem is that my apps list inside Play Store is now empty.
If I search for an already installed app, it gives me the possibility to update/open the app, and then it appears among the installed apps on my device.
Is there a way to force Play Store to check for all installed apps instead of doing it manually?
Thanks in advance!
Did you ever figure out a solution for this? Just had the same problem happen to me.
