[Q] Xperia GO - JB update problem - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi,
It's 20th May by now and Sony PC Companion still isn't showing me the latest jelly bean update. Same way with SUS. It says new version is available (that's 6.1.1.B.1.10 ics) and when i update it, companion says that's the latest version. What should I do? (and I want official sony companion firmware not the one to flash).
Any help would be appreciated. :good:

Root your phone and edit your SI number in build.prop to get update.

could you maybe upload your tft files for the .10 build please? I got mines from hong kong or czech and I don't like it them much, I only need them for rooting.

It's because of that the ics is not released for your territory yet !!
so you can download the ics from here if you have st25i :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1918920.Check
and download it from here if you have st25a :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916419&highlight=ftf+roms
then install them according to this topic :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19684949#post19684949
so .. u mean that i have to install the old firmware and let the PC companion update my phone or i have to fully install the ICS using the flashtool ?

As he said before,
Simplest way:
Download ftf of ICS.
Download and install flashtool.
Flash the ftf.

I meant take an example that phone was locked to at&t and now its unlocked and used in india
so pc companion will give the update which is for indian mobiles
will not that conflict with the phone since it would be running at&t based software
And will that cause my phone to be locked again to at&t
n i read some where pc companion not detecting update and giving message as "Phone is up to date"
and really thanks to have patience and reply to my questions i'll try n hit the thnks button as many times i can

[Q] Updating firmware while rooted

Hi all,
I have a rooted xperia go 6.1.1.b.1.54. I have a notification for an update for 6.2.A.0.400 and was wondering if I am able to update the firmware while my device is rooted? How do I do so? I'm quite new to this and i am afraid that i may brick my phone while updating my firmware. Lol
Just flash your ics .54 ftf using flashtool.. Then update.. Or while you're rooted change si no in build.prop to this 1264-7472.. You'll get the latest a.1.100 firmware update through pc companion!

So there are two ways? 1.)Flash .54 then update, 2.)change si no in build.prop and update through pc companion.
Hmm, I think i will do the 2nd one.
Just making sure. Uhm when I change my si no in build.prop to 1264-7472 and update through pc companion, will my device update from .54 to a.1.100 directly? Is this perfectly safe? I'm a bit paranoid haha
Yes it is perfectly safe.. !! Just change the si number n reboot.. You'll get the update
Oh and another thing, will I lose my root once i get updated to a.1.100?

Use flashtool and flash newest firmware for Your phone.
Unlock the bootloader, install CWM and flash a custom rom, the ICS update has a lot of bugs...
