Hey Guys.
I just got a HTC Desire X from a friend and broke the Phone. I only have access to the Bootloader and Fastboot. I tried to do a recovery with fastboot and a recovery and boot .img but it still doesn't work.
I also tried to restore a nandroid backup with "NANDROID_Recovery_GUI" but for this programm are missing Data.img and system.img.
Another thing is when i try to clear userdata etc. with fastboot there is a Failure that the programm have no permission to do this.
So are there any solutions for this Problem or is it broken forever?
Thank you,
wasabi.

The Bootloader is unlocked. "*** UNLOCKED ***" is on the Top of the Bootloader.
He tried to update to JellyBean Update from HTC officially (OTA) with root and after installing it dont boot anymore.
Solved the Problem by flashing a new recovery (cwm). Then i installed a new rom and everything worked fine.
Tanks to all.
Thread can be closed.
Unlocked bootloader was the problem. He needs to relock the bootloader before installing an official update from HTC.

Did he do the update with the sdcard connected? It works only if the update is downloaded to internal storage.

So, I rooted my phone last night and ever since I've been stuck in bootloop. I loaded one rom and it was in bootloop all night until the phone died. I charged the phone up, wiped it and tried another, stuck in bootloop for hours with nothing working. Now, the bigger problem is, I - being an idiot - forgot to do a nandroid backup so there is nothing to restore too, yet when I set it to factory settings it's once again stuck in bootloop.
All my phone now displays is the green HTC logo on the white background, until the phone battery dies.
So... how screwed am I?
EDIT: CDMA, S-on, 1.50, I used HTC dev to root it.
Did you root with HTC dev. You need to flash the boot.IMG using fastboot.

CDMA, S-on, 1.50, I used HTC dev to root it. CM 9 Nightly.
Do what I said. Boot your phone into the boot loader. Select fastboot. Stick the boot.IMG from the Rom you used into the folder on the pc that you used with htcdev.
Connect your device.
Open up command prompt. Navigate to the folder in command prompt where you put the boot.IMG
Type fastboot flash boot boot.IMG
If it works it will say so restart your phone and enjoy.

If you hadn't said anything I probably would have been running around in circles for the rest of the day. I just did and I'm waiting for it to restart right now. Hopefully it works.
Hopefully it will work. If you flash anymore roms you have to do the same flash boot.img using fastboot since you unlocked with HTC dev.

Meaning I can just nandroid backup this rom? Or do I have to reflash it then flash the new ones over it?
If you want to flash a new rom do a nandroid backup first and then wipe everything. But everytime you flash a new Rom you have to flash the boot.IMG seperatley that was supplied with the Rom if that makes sense. This also applied when doing a recovery.

Unless the boot.IMG is automatically with each rom that does not make sense. However, if that means (which I pretty sure it does, I just need that extra clear clarification) that a new boot.IMG is supposed to be supplied with every single new ROM then that would explain why my phone is still in bootloop. No changes since last time I was on, about an hour ago I took the battery out and restarted it.
So it's still in bootloop whenever I try anything.
Help as well...
Stuck in the same problem. Hboot 1.50, S-on, and I'm trying to load Evergreen's CM7 port. I'm also using CWM 4.x (can't remember number, just the non touch version). Whenever I try to start my phone all I get is the white HTC screen with the little vibrate, then the black screen, and then the HTC screen once again and so on. I've tried flashing the boot from the file and then flashing the ROM with and without the boot.img in the .zip file. Help me. Please.
You need to flash the rom first then restart your phone load in to fastboot and flash the boot.img using fastboot. Search the forums there should be a more detailed way on how to do this. But its pretty much the same instructions I gave in previous post.
Try following this if your struggling.

If that last reply was meant me, I've already tried that. Doesn't change anything at all.
Ah ok you mentioned you flashed the boot.img first that's all
Also try formatting your sd card or use a spare one and format that and then flashing the Rom and boot.IMG. I had to do that with my desire s.

1. Okay, now boot into bootloader and connect via Fastboot-USB!
2. Unzip, and run the .exe in that folder.
3. Select install HTC Drivers, this is important!
4. Register at HTCDev
5. Click on Get tokenID
6. Run thru the step by step guide at HTCDev Website
7. Copy the tokenID and paste it onto HTCDev
8. Click on Unlock bootloader, and see what happens.
After you unlocked your bootloader, you're able to flash a proper recovery.

Where does it say that relocking bootloader will erase recovery partition? It just relocks the bootloader. Just flash a stock RUU. It will write stock recovery during install.

Hey guys I had to send my HTC One back to ATT. So I stupidly tried to get it back to stock, so I first flashed an Odex-ed Stock Rooted Rom, then flashed stock recovery in fastboot, then locked the bootloader and am now trying to run the RUU. And it doesnt seem to be working..what do I do? I just keep booting into the bootloader straight. Im so lost.
So your bootloader is locked, you start the ruu and what happens?
I had a similar issue. For some resason all of my laptops had issues with drivers. If you go in device manager in windows, check to see if you see exclamation mark on my HTC.
I tried different drivers, sync app from HTC and even fresh virtual box environments on MacBook to no avail. It always shows that yellow exclamation when in bootloader.
Anyways, didn't mean to hijack your thread but just trying to see what's in your device manager. Try hansoon HTC one app?

Hi guys,
my hox+ seems to be bricked. I got a boot loop with the htc logo, but can still access bootloader, fastboot and recovery. But I am unable to flash the RUU image, cause of a high main version. Here are some pics that tell you more.
If I try to flash the new RUU I get the a new error now, that says "no device found" - I used the tool from hasoon2000.
Please help me, because the guy from the vodafone shop said, there's no way.
same problem with u but with AT&T , waiting for help >:<

What you need a backup stock RUU. I need one myself.
How can I restore my hox+ if I have a backup. I found one (I have less than 10 Posts, so I can't post links) for vodafone, but dont know how to restore it.
I flashed the CWM recovery image and tried to load the zip file via sideload, but it doesn't work. After the upload the process aborted. Can anyone explain how to restore a stock rom backup?
You need to flash stock recovery, relock your bootloader and then run the ruu

.. and what can I do, if I get the error 140 bootloader version? My hboot version is 1.40.
So here's the situation, I rooted my phone. Decided to switch around ROMS (ViperX+ and CyanMod 10.2). But neither of them booted. I accidently wiped my whole SD and Data so nothings on my device anymore, No OS or ROMS to flash. Finally was able to push a file through "adb push /Vipers+ /sdcard" . but then that OS did not work either. And it was built exactly for my phone (AT&T One X+). So I know the ROM should be working. So now little scared me just wants to go back to stock and unroot the phone. The issue is I can't find the right RUU. If anyone could help me with finding that I would be most grateful...
