Weird Aspect Ratio on some Apps - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Hello,
I am having issues with aspect Ratios for certain apps. One is NBA Jam. I'll admit Its not available in the Play Store, probably for this reason.
However, I found another Directly from the Play Store, Deer Hunter Challenge. When you load it up on the One, everything is shrunk down, and some of the onscreen buttons are not visible on the screen.
Is there anyway to force the One to upscale/downscale an app to fit the screen?
Thanks,

[Q] Tilting screen after playing game

To enhance my experience from using HD2, i installed a few games designed for GL 2.0. And... I have problem with tilting screen to normal after exitting those (eg. Shift, Sims3)- All menus are tilted 90 degrees left and Sense isn't working at tall (though, I still can click Start menu and use programs horizontally). Sometimes running non-GL game helps, but still- it's a problem... Can anyone have any idea how to make it run normally and still use games? Thank in advance.
if you use energy rom(and maybe others), press and hold the answer button for like 3 sec and then the screen should be in portrait mode.
yea, all the game does is put the phone in port mode, I play the same games, and the screen rotates happens, but everything still works. change screen, or rotate screen might help if you do not already have them. hope this helps!!

[Q] HDMI output to force landscape for games

I just download nba jam. only because i wanna use my prime with my dock and a x360 controller to play it. but when i plug in my hdmi cable it displays vertically on the tv but landscape on my prime. what gives? is there any way around it so i can force landscape on my tv??
Sadly I think this is something EA did wrong with NBA JAM. If you load the game on your Prime you will notice your android statusbar (back, home, recent apps buttons, and clock) move as if the Prime has gone into portrait mode, but then displays the game in landscape. My guess is EA used a portrait layout then rotated it 90 degrees when developing the game. I always thought it was really weird when my statusbar moved every time I launched the game, but to me your post about the HDMI output issue kind of confirms what is going wrong. There are also a lot of comments on Google Play making reference to the fact that this game was ported directly from the iOS version, which might explain the wierd rotation / layout issues.
ahhh i see. and the direct ios port is so true. i went into the apk with root explorer to see if i can if i can change anything and a lot of the names of files in it had "ios, iphone, ipad" in them. i didnt know why the ef it was in there. now it makes sense.

Display can't do 60FPS?

I was really happy with my LG G5, until after a week or so, I noticed that the screen actually seems to have problems with "fast" change of movement. And I am really annoyed at this point by it, because I compared it with other devices of mine, and it's not that bad on these older devices. For example my old phone, a Samsung Galaxy S3, doesn't have this issue at all.
You can easily notice it in the Android settings (use list view). When you now slowly move up/down with your finger, you see that all fonts have a "ghost-effect" (get blurry) of not properly refreshing in time. There is a bit of border / re-draw affect around each word on the screen.
You will notice it also for example on the app store scrolling down / up, or in an app drawer (if you have a launcher with app drawer) and scroll through the app list.
On my phone i have no ghosting or problems with fast change of movement. There is a website called "testufo" where you can test your display for ghosting and FPS.

[App request] Universal SBS VR mode across full OS (Home screen, normal apps)

I have been searching for quite a while but have not come across any app or mod that splits the home screen and normal apps (basically universal SBS split across the full ROM) to use it in Cardboard or other VR boxes.
Most VR apps that I have seen are made for a specific purposes. 3D SBS or big screen video player, panoramic photo viewer, VR games and so forth. None of the apps lets us split the home screen, normal apps, etc to use the whole phone in big screen mode.
There is TaoVisor 3D App Launcher. But it is not an SBS screen splitter.
It is cumbersome to take the phone off of the VR box just to press a button or change app and reinsert the phone into the box everytime. We do not need a 3D OS, just the ability to control the whole of the phone's functioning without taking off the phone from the VR box or without the need to pair a bluetooth controller.
If some developer would be kind enough to develop such an app, I have some ideas which I would like to discuss.
If there are such an apps, please point me to it. Let us discuss whats and hows about such apps and request their developers to change and/or integrate features that are needed..
I have a rooted Xiaomi MI 5 running on Androind N, if that helps.
Bump
Bump
Please some one go through a lenovo note 56or 8 and figure out how they did it. There native SBS is pretty spot on tho DRM stuff like vudu didn't work on my note 5

Question streaming video in fullscreen mode

this isn't specific to this phone as ive been having this problem with android in general. but maybe someone knows a trick to get specific apps to fill the fullscreen. i use DirectTV Stream, Hulu, Netflix, Showtime, HBO Max and Prime Video. The only app the has a zoom function is Prime Video. all my other apps play with black bars on the left and right. i think its just crappy apps and lazy android developers because some of these have a zoom function on iOS. only DirectTV Stream and HBO Max don’t.
anyways does anyone know if its possible to force fullscreen streaming? what app does sony use to showoff the fullscreen 4k movies in their ads for the 1 iii? and some reviews showed movie clips in fullscreen. thx if you know.
I think you just make a typical two-finger "zoom in" (i.e. two fingers apart) motion. It will then crop the image (assuming it's not 21:9-ish source) to fill the screen

Click to collapse
maybe im not doing the two-finger motion correctly, but it hasn't worked for me. i think only with the youtube app. i'll try again.
two finger gesture doesn't work on at least hulu, directtv stream and showtime. isn't anyone else bothered by this? i even tried the one finger salute. lol
what apps stream video/movies in fullscreen on android specifically xperia 1 iii?
I've noticed that Prime Video pinch-to-zoom doesn't work on my X1M3 (though Zoom is available in the hamburger/three dot menu); finger pinch zoom works on my S9, so that may have been some additional functionality Samsung included. Perhaps.
As far as other apps - Netflix pinch to zoom works perfectly, as does YouTube, iPlayer and Disney+. And wow, 2:1 and particularly 2.39:1 theatrical aspect stuff looks stunning on this screen!
4K HDR will be in full screen .
