Hi! Can anyone please help me root Alcatel 916D (FB Spark)? A real nice low budget qwerty dual-sim phone running Android GB. I've tried all rooting tools i can find on the web like: SuperOneClick, Unlocker,Doomlord, z4root etc... but nothing seems to work. Lately, i tried flashing a new boot.img based on what i read from a post using a scatter text file, unfortunately now, my phone is bricked and stuck on a bootloop. I brought it to Alcatel Service Center for the reinstallation of its fresh OS coz OneTouch Software Uprade won't allow me to install it on my own. As soon as my 916D is fixed i'll try again to root it and i hope that someone in our community could provide me with a good tutorial and rooting files particularly usuable with 916D.
Likewise, i would also appreciate if someone could provide me a tutorial and files necessary on Increasing the Internal Storage of Alcatel 916D coz its merely 150MB.. Thanks a lot in advance.

Alcatel has open source code for OT-916D - so what we need, that somebody with C++, Java knowledge for Root and CWM, I think.
Source Files
The source files for Alcatel OT-916 (and many other models) can be downloaded here: sourceforge.net/projects/alcatel/files/
As for rooting, I tried every available method, including MTKdroidTools, but none of them work.
I found a guide to root but i haven't teste yet !

Thanks for the feedback. I am about to try it as soon as I find alcatel OT-916 driver for windows 8.
By the way, how did you enter in DOWNLOAD mode on your Alcatel OT-916? I can't figure out how to do it.

I second this motion If anybody has a whole ROM that can be flashed with SP Flash Tool, please help us les miserables.
I formatted the phone, now it doesn't even turn on. I wrote Alcatel and asked them for assistance, but still waiting for their reply. I hope they can provide me with the stock ROM. If they don't, I'm afraid I'll have to take it to a repair center.
My Rom for sharing to help

nice to know that this work! actually i haven't have this phone yet but really wanna have one and root it because of memory issues, however the link given is not understandable because its of different language..yes i can translate the page to english but not the video in there... so im worried that if i tried to, i am at risk of bricking it since i don't fully understand it and i see this rooting procedure is more complicated than JB on ios... it will be my first root if ever...yes im a newbie(noob) to android, so i hope you can help me and if its ok can you make a video if it does not bother you... i'd look forward to this... thank you very much
I have Alcatel OT-916, not OT-916D which is dual sim, and I tried to follow the procedure in the link but when I tried to flash the phone it just didn't want to connect although I was able to read the ram and all the time I was getting error USB not found.
Now the phone is soft-bricked. I'm able to communicate with it but it just won't turn on, like it's hard bricked.
P.S: I think 916 and 916D have different scatter files, that might be the problem. Still I want to hear second opinion.
__________
I forgot to mention something very important. The phone wasn't bricked 'till I tried flashing with option DA Download All checked, which kind of worked, the progress bar went to 100% but I got error BROM ERROR:S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTING_FAIL(5054).

Hello,
I'm having a problem with rooting Prestigio PAP5400 DUO smartphone. I had recently updated it to the newest firmware and later tried to root it with various software. SRSRoot couldn't do that, tough it showed, that previous firmware was rootable, so I am asking if whether it is still possible to somehow root it or can anyone help me with downgrading, there are firmware versions to download from official support page, but no idea how to downgrade and if it's even possible. The main reason why actually need rooting is to increase RAM thrue Ultra speed SD card, since quad core and 512 Mb RAM ain't exactly the best couple... Perhaps there is somethig else do that without the RAM managment software and root acess. I don't know if 125-50 or less free RAM is normal, since the aren't a lot of apps in it, and even if i clean them, they tend to restart sometime after, I don't want to uninstall them tough, just more RAM and for that I need solutions for the previous requests. Would be good enough to know if there is an expert that can solve these problems.
Prestigio PAP5400 DUO rooting
Upgrade, don't downgrade it and use Kingo Root. Mine is v.1.0.18. Be sure that your driver is instaled properly first. I don't think you can incrase RAM because stock kernel doesn't support Swap. Anyway I may be wrong.
Good luck.
Thank you, i used VRoot and it worked, got full root, still, you are right about swap memory, the stock doesn't allow it, still the cell phone is now significantly faster and less lag occurs due the privileges of having root acess for some cell managment apps. Just be careful if using VRoot, it also seems to behave as a spyware, probably China's intension
help!

Hi can someone help me with prestigio pap5400duo it is stuck on boot screen. I can not find any software for flashing this phone like Odin for Samsung. Phone is not rooted. If anyone can post link for firmware of the phone and software for flashing.
My phone is LG Optimus P713. One time, I found it flashing "emergency mode!" on screen and tried to restart the phone. When I reboot the phone, all my files were gone. I have no SD card, so everything is stored on internal memory. I've been searching for solutions and so far, the clearest way was: to root the phone, connect to pc by UMS, and recover files by using a software(dr. fone or asoftech was what I found from google). Are there any other possible solutions? As much as I'd like to root the phone, can I unroot it? What specific method of rooting should I follow for my phone model(because they said that the initial step in rooting is to find out which one is compatible on the device)? I never root before, so this is all new to me. HELP ME PLEASEEEEE :crying:

If your phone running JB ( not Kit Kat), root it with framaroot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/framaroot/root-framaroot-one-click-apk-to-root-t2130276
I just bought a Spice Stellar MI 514 few days back and I am already feeling the need to root it. It runs on kitkat 4.4.2. I have tried various rooting methods like towelroot, rootgenius, etc etc.. but none of the apk methods support the phone right now so they say.... when it comes to rooting via pc, I have been unsuccessful so far, because either the rooting method doesnt support my phone or it cant detect my phone, I couldnt find brand specific drivers. I just downloaded adb drivers off the net. Kindly Help ME. I am lost :crying::crying::crying::crying:
I recently bought an Oppo a73 (CPH1725) and have looked every where on how to root this thing but I am unable to find anything at all.
I've tried Kingroot, Kingoroot, Oppo tools and a few other seriously sketchy one tap methods and am now questioning why I am putting myself through the torment
If anyone has any info on how to or if it's even possible to root this damned phone!
If you need any info on it, just tell me and I will supply you what I can.

I've been trying to root this for a while too, I'm wondering if its possible to use CPH1723 files, not game enough to risk it on my daily driver though.
I also got stuck trying to port twrp for the MT6763 / Helio P23.
Couldn't find the latest stock rom.
