Weird battery drainage (pics) - Motorola Droid RAZR

So I got this "App" downloadmanager (I think it's called, don't have my phone on english) which can draw up to 80% of my battery. It often starts when I enetr Google play and then I have to kill it in the task manager to stop it from eating my battery.
What can I do to stop this?

If a particular app is the problem and you don't need it then freeze/uninstall it using Titanium Backup.

If ya have doubt on download manager just go to the settings and apps and clean the data of download manager and uninstall it from RAZR
Edit : i believe it not because of download manager . Jellybean having this battery drainage issue so if it is possible just root ya phone and install some custom rom on it and see the battery , it will defiantly help ya
Edit2: if ya do not wanna install custom rom just root and freez some of the battery drainage apps like maps and moto blotwares that would definitely help ya
Thanks!!
Please hit the thanks button if i helped ya in anyways !!!

I'm rooted and I am running custom rom.
Though is it possible to freeze this app? Itäs the download manager, it handles alot of different important stuff?

I don't see it as a necessity.
Even if it is then freezing won't hurt.Just freeze and see if any of the important stuff feels problem.
You can always unfreeze it.

Your phone was awake most of the time, use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector
, it helped me to identify battery drainage issues.

[Q] Juice Defender

Does it actually work? And if it does, does it save a significant amount of battery?
Ive heard it works and I've heard it doesn't work I dont use it I get about 16 - 20 hours with moderate use using the freeze option in titanium backup pro this belongs in q&a btw
My bad on the Q&A part. But thanks for the help.

How, using the freeze option in Ti Backup to freeze an app, save your battery?
Some apps don't stop running when you back out of them some system apps run all the time but are not needed freeze them and they won't eat your battery all day long .......longer battery life!
Sorry for the noob question but how do you figuer out which app is running all the time even when its not showing up in the default task manager. I would love to use this feature to get more juice out of my battery.
System panel is an app you can get and see what apps are running in the background and if there not crucial to the system freeze them I would ask someone before freezing anything though cause you could really screw up your phone and have to odin back to stock which isn't that bad just a pain in the ass

Not to get off topic, but does anyone have a list or recommend common apps to freeze? I see it mentioned a lot and everyone says ask someone before freezing, but I never see examples of what is safe and what is not.

Freeze drm and samsung apps and media hub and then I freeze whatever apps I don't use cause some apps have core functionally if you freeze them you'll get f/c but I'll try to make a list of things I freeze and post it later

I'm curious about this as well. Is there a good rule of thumb abou what things are not going to cause problems to freeze?
Now, I freeze the basic stuff, like Allshare, etc. because I don't use them, but I'd like to dig deeper into what services can actually be frozen as well.

Motorola Task Manager - can it be extracted for download??

I installed Grey Blur on my Atrix and it removed all the bloatware but also it got rid of Motorola Task Manager. Ever since I was on the quest for similarly good auto task killer and failed to find one. Is there any way to extract it from stock phone and post here by someone who has not modded the Atrix?
I would greatly appreciate!!!
Thanx!!!!
install the bloatware zip file?
Where to get it???
I can always get rid of what I don't need with Titanium.
why would you want a task killer when andriod 2.2 does this for you already??
It sux at it.... Apps are restarting all over the place and the phone gets hot and chewing the battery unless I kill them manually... Well, anyways - I liked the Task Manager killing the crap when you lock the screen.
Anyways - got it:

Same here. Sometimes I get that symbol that comes up when too much cpu is being used. If im not using double twist, pandora, audio galaxy, or even the browser.......why not shut them down? Can't see how doing so can have a negative impact on my phone. Like turning the lights off when you don't need em at home.

I usually copy apps I want to/system/app folder using Root Explorer and change permissions then reboot. They are there. You can get all apks from deodexed zip in /system/app folder.

Riiiiiight
Explain this to me the - no task killer = 50 processes, phone hot like hell, battery gone in 5 hrs.
With task killer - phone cool as cucumber, 22-23 apps running, battery at 50% at midnight.... unplugged at 7am I need to add.....

Depends if you use the kill all button or not. Killing all apps means half of em get restarted thus using cpu power and what not. Killing rogue apps is fine and even the big players (internet, background, etc..)
edit: those background apps your killing probably use less power then the power used by your screen when your actively killing them... My best guess is your using a rogue app and when you manually shut it down it doesn't get to eat battery.

Facebook MASSIVE battery drain

Okay, the Facebook app on my O1 is really killing my battery; it drains by 10% in half an hour when on standby. Spare Parts says that the phone is running for almost 100% of the time, and partial wake usage blames Facebook. The drain stops when I force close the app. I tried turning off refreshing etc but no luck. Please help me out with this. I'm using void ROM but I had the same problem with the stock ROM.

ReMove facebook frm ur op1 using root uninstaller, absolute system root tools, titanium backup, termina remulator using codes..
I use facebook on my 01, but I dont experience that much of a battery drain. Try removing it and install another app which can access fb, there must be some on the android market.
I would do remove it, but I want to use the app rather than the touch site, so unless you're sure there's no fix...

The Void ROM is pretty outdated, its no longer supported. Maybe you could try switching to Devoid and see if you still experience the same thing?
Jst stop the data connection from the power menu wen u not using fb..

ok mate ive experienced that before some roms i forgot
but here are some advice for u:
1) uninstall facebook and
go mobile web
try friendcaster on market
2) if you dont wanna uninstall that try download something like an auto task killer and put facebook (only!) into the auto kill list but remember dont over using that **** auto task killers fail and waste battery but effective on high-ram using apps
hope these help

Wanting to use "Advanced Task Killer" app instead of rooting: Good or Bad idea?

Wanting to use "Advanced Task Killer" app instead of rooting: Good or Bad idea?
Hi folks,
Since I've decided not to root my phone, I need an alternative.
I noticed the "Advanced Task Killer" app and wondered if this helps to stop bloatware.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Thank you kindly,

Well, maybe with ICS coming out for the Amaze 4G, app/task management will be better??!
Who knows?
Thanks again
I currently use advanced task killer. Is anything wrong with it?

Once you kill it the program will restart itself. No matter what every time you kill it, it will restart. which will cause your phone to lag and use more battery than the phone would if everything was running. The way the android operating system is designed is to have every program running in the background. How ever the program isn't actually running. Using task killers can do more harm than good when it comes to things like bloatware. It can cause and has caused my phone crash. Id just use Titanium backup to get rid of what you can. Overall I'd just use the task manager installed in the amaze because I stopped using a task killer and i get better performance as well as the same battery life ect.
I've always stayed away from using task killers unless I'm really desperate to free up some RAM... In general, I always just freeze whatever apps I don't want running at all (eg. bloatware, stock messing app, Sense if I'm using a third party launcher, etc) and never had any noticeable issues with not having enough free RAM

Most kernel devs (people who really know how stuff like this are handled) will tell you to stay away from task killers.

The problem with Juice Defender is that most of the power saving settings can be achieved without the app, and the screen off/data off feature sucks for people like me who use and rely heavily on messaging apps. I use Kik and GTalk heavily and even setting the data sync at 5 minute increments is still annoying.
If you don't use your phone this way, then I would definitely recommend juice defender.
MORE SMOOTHNESS, MORE SPEED, LESS LAGS
you don't have to use Task Killer!
Try This: RAM Manager PRO OR RAM Manager FREE

Facebook app battery drain

Hi, I wanted to ask something.
My facebook app after upgrading in 2.3, it consumes a lot of battery, such as 50-60%. Obviously it is not a normal thing.
Does anyone know the reason?
I'm desperate!!:crying::crying::crying::crying:
Thank you very much!

Maybe check what the app tries to sync and what to refresh (e.g. notifications etc.) and how often it does that.
if you are rooted you can get a better view on the battery consumption with BetterBatteryStats (search here on XDA).

you can also try to use Gemini to switch on/off services used by facebook (or other apps likewise).
or you could try a reflash of the rom?
