I tried this, and I can confirm it does not work. The samsung app is needed. Also mms is broken in the JB app with and without the stock samsung app.
Thanks for the suggestion of using tb. It makes perfect sense, but after months of using cm10.1 on the g nexus, a little reminder goes a long way.

report back, let us know if it works. very curious
Text sms work. Mms causes force close of the app. After restart, mms is there mark as sending. All older mms messanges are still in the app.
I pulled the stock android app from the most recent nightly cm10.1 build for the verizon note ii. Unfortunately, I dont know enough to do anymore.
Ill try it from a g s3 aosp build. I figure it will be the exact same app, but Im not busy so it worth a shot. I only have access to my phone at the moment, so it might take a little while.

You set the permissions to match the old apk?
Yep, rw-r--r--. And I added .bak behind samsung app.

Same results with aosp mms app. Ive reverted back to samsung app.

I'm not sure as well because it's been very long I used stock ROM.
Although I don't use blacklist function, but it's like I've seen it there before.

I'm still using CRv6 GB 2.3.6.
Under Settings/Call/Call Rejection is 2 options.
The first option is how to reject (I use Blacklist only).
The second one is Blacklists. Under this is the option, to block all unknown numbers. For me, that also includes (and blocks) all blocked or private caller id numbers.
I hope this helps you.

Black listing numbers on the operator side of things, if you block them through apps/CM9, first they won't truly be blocked (IE they will still be able to call you but your phone just won't allow the call to go through on its end) and second you will have to do it all over again when you change ROM etc. If you call up your provider and ask them to blacklist a number its a much better way.
I love the keyboard that came with the phone. ... But I also love being rooted and rom'd..... my favorite rim doesn't have the stock keyboard all I'm llooking for a way to get the stock keyboard.
Anyone?
Found info on the AT&T Note 2 site to get the symbols back. And it WORKS! Basically it's a simple fix of replacing your Feature.xml file in system/csc folder and setting permission to rw-r--r--. Read the thread first from page 7 to 10 to get a good sense of what happening!!!! File is at the bottom of page 8. Also this file might have some carrier setting for AT&T. I have been playing with the phone for 15 min and don't see any difference. Enjoy!!!

It's is a file to bring back the long press symbols over the letters. It does have At&t carrier code as that's where the file came from. I did have it installed and played with it all last night without any problems. But use at your own risk!!!!

No. It's a variant of the Samsung keyboard. I think when you got your phone it would have been that way.

I been running the org. feature.xml for the last two days on beans 2 and that has happen to me twice in the last 24 hours. So it may be just a bug. Had like 10 apps do upgrades yesterday from the playstore and the force close started. Black screen with a single blue line then force close.

So you think its something within beans rom giving it the force close or the feature.xml file?

I think it has to do with beans build 2 because im not using the file posted above or the modified file that guthrien sent me. Was waiting to see if beans posted a update for the bugs that's been reported so far.

When I get a text message, my screen lights up. How can I make the screen not turn on when receiving a text notification? I am running GS4 Premium Rom
Go to the messaging app and hit menu.
Somewhere down the list is a checkbox for disabling the screen on when receiving message.

And I was wrong though It should be go to main messages press menu then settings is where I found it.
I just looked at my changelog and it seems that there were a few things added.
Like I said though, now that I think about it I very well could be wrong but I could have sworn it was there before I rooted and rommed

I'm on the 1.5 and its working. but SMS does not work if you are using the stock touchwiz sms. this is because it wakes the screen when you get a message so that ruins it. but hangouts, emails, instagram, etc work fine for me

I think the talkback is just an accessibility bug for samsung devices. Only happens when an app is using accessibility.
dev claims to have fixed the Samsung SMS bug. haven't tried it yet.
added several new options. most notably (for me) was the option to use this as the lock screen. went ahead and went premium!
Just came across this, have not tried it, but i think we would all love this functionality..
