I loves me the Go Dev Team, lots of high quality apps from them.
the go team has a bad rep, so i don't think ill be rocking any of their stuff. You guys should really look into what they really do, ever wonder why its free? Ill just tell you this much XDA doesn't support Go dev team
bad rep as far as what?
I've never had a problem with any of the Go apps. They always update weekly, and they do everything I need for them to do.
This has worked flawlessly for two days - I like it. Agile Lock, which has much greater customization ability, would give me the double lockscreen occasionally regardless of which of their fixes I used. No issues with the Go Lockscreen. Given some time, this will probably have the same level of customization as Agile Lock.

Google doesn't sell your info... and nor do carriers, it would make them look shady and untrustworthy why do you think google pulled out from china? (Or did your forget already?) china was hacking and what not into google severs and such taking peoples basic info and sensitive info. Digital era my friend now they can literary F***K you up online and do you some pretty bad damage. IE Take your money, Your Titles , Profit from your info from other companies etc etc etc etc and yes even take Mr Fluffy that 50 Pound cat that does nothing

Not wanting to start a debate, just giving my two cents.
careful or paranoid?
Nearly every app you install asks for permission to your info. I don't keep sensitive info in my phone. I don't input CC numbers, don't use a bank app and all my passwords are different on my phone then the ones I use for my "sensitive info".
"Opted in or opted out" lately, do you really know?
How many times have you been out at a restaurant and given the server your CC and they disappear for 5-10 minutes in the backroom? Lord knows what they can do with it in that time.
The world knew me from the day the internet started and before.
They can have the damn cat.....
Sorry for the off topic BS...
I noticed thoze things to about accessing info on ur phone so i stay weary, but does thiz app have a password to really lock it or is it just for looks?

I was using it for a bit (didnt try the password). It seemed to work pretty good but I went back to the stock Motorola lockscreen. I did however keep using Go Launcher Ex as I love the themes. Currently using the Ice Cream Sandwich theme
This bad reputation thing seems just like an opinion from somebody. As big as the go launcher is google would have been up on them already!
I like GO apps, first app I install on my new phones are GO SMS.
After using this for a few days, it appears that it was carousing sine battery drain. I had to uninstall until the next version hopefully fixes it.

Just going to end it with this you can never be too careful. And certain apps need that type of info to operate correctly from trusted sources, what your cc and a restaurant have to do with this I have no clue. XDA doesn't trust them and that's more than enough to keep me away from them point period
So I installed the go locker from the market, and as was mentioned in one of the previous posts here I believe, it won't lock. Bipasses my lock screen, so it is pretty cool, but that alone made me uninstall it.
Just wondering because I got an app that said to use Lucky Patcher?
Not totally sure but I think its used for piracy mostly

Did you try searching for an answer? Google it and you get results.
Kind of weird an app would ask you to use something to pirate it with

It's an app that removes the google ads from just about every app, also does some other stuff, but that's not the kinda stuff we discuss here and just a word of advice on the extra features, it has risk involved.
lol ok! Thanks

I don't know if this is one of those things we don't discuss here but I actually used it cause it comes with a custom patch that can be applied to Adobe flash (system app/free in market) that makes hulu think you're browsing on a computer so I can watch shows at work
Mods: If this is one of those things that we should not discuss here, please feel free to erase it. And sorry lol I just figured since Adobe is a free app and we modify things here,I could share it.

If anyone would like me to create an application based on your idea just comment bellow or shoot me a PM. Im playing around with basic4android and I would love some cool ideas of what I should creat! Thanks!
Will this require a donation? Also can you please release how you pushed the 1.29 update first?
Also I would like to request an app that can either block you from xda or block you from spamming new threads.

You could make an app that could beg for money from people on xda then pay your bills with it. You could also add a feature that could make tons of useless posts.

Wow... Why anyone would use basic4android when you could just do it in Java so much better (and free) is beyond me.. Don't come to the majors when you're still not even good enough for a farm team

I'd encourage you to download the google SDK and become familiar with the Java+Android APIs. Basic and basic 4 android have their limitations besides that.
Unless you're extremely familiar with BASIC (even if you're extremely familiar with BASIC), i would probably go java . Things are really nice in android studio nowadays (most notably, the "intellisense")

I will definitely start at the Android tutorials sub forum.
Do you have unlimited data allowance? As I have found out first hand, this is a crucial factor in the way you will learn and progress because a lot of the good tutorials are in the form of YT videos.

Also depends on what you actually want to developer. ROMs? Android apps? Games? Something else? They all require slightly different routes. But a good understanding of programming in general will be a very good help in anything you do

I'm your age too I do developing primarily on computers though and I have been doing that for a couple of years now. I can say that the best place to start is to learn a programming language. Most Android apps are coded using Java so, if you have some experience with coding learning Java would help you alot. But if you have little to no experience coding I would suggest you start off with something like C maybe even python but syntax is very different compared to Java so C is recommended. After you have enough experience with that I'm sure you can jump into building ROMs.
Good Luck!

Are there any books you recommend?
Sent from my EVO 4G LTE using xda app-developers app
my problem is I don't have a unique and practical idea. I'd wish I could come up with something that would be lucrative & beneficial but those ideas are limited and I wouldn't want to do something someone else has already done.
If I wanted to learn I'd get the latest Android Studio & follow some "Hello World"- type walkthroughs. I'd think YouTube vids would be helpful.
Then try to latch on to an open source project since I'd have an existing project to see how it's done.

I've always found Head First Series to be good. Try Head First C or if your feeling confident try Head First Android Development. But adding on to what jawz101 said the best way to learn a programming language really well is to do your own project, also, check out "professional" open source projects to learn the style and even some tricks of the trade.
Hi there!

I've came up with a concept of new type of "keyboard" for touchscreen devices (target: mobile phones), the tests went really great, and I am now patenting it. I would like to see your opinions or ideas.

Nice to meet you, as well.
If the production of your wheel is as slick as your video, we are all in for a treat.
Can't wait to try it out.
How do you tell the difference between backspace and caps lock? At a quick glance, they both look like counter-clockwise circles within the wheel.
This looks very interesting and intuitive, looking forward to getting my hands on this and taking it for a spin.

one hell of a concept... gr8 work dev... looking forward to it...dis definitely needs a portal mention after its launch...

sounds interesting, but the website is down.
Very cool concept and the core idea is great. I felt like some of the other rules may become difficult to learn and weren't as intuitive as the initial demo so, if your goal is getting users to try it out, I'd suggest keeping your demo a little more concise.
Unique idea though, love the thought process.

Big companies patents concept not only to apply it to their design, but more importantly to keep new concepts away from their competitors...
