I have an evo 3d cdma running dirty Unicorns 4.2 v1.8 rom. I'm having the issue where my phone won't receive text messages when the phone is sleeping. When I unlock the phone and wait 5-10 seconds, I start getting Text messages that were sent up to an hour before. I have factory reset and cleared cache, clean install the rom again and still have the problem. I earlier reflashed my stock 2.3 sense rom and updated the prl and tested sending text messages from another phone and within seconds I receive them. I'm thinking when the phone sleeps it's somehow losing all signal and not connecting with the network. If anyone is aware of a fix I would love the help! It would be nice to continue to rock the DU rom

It'll receive/send texts perfectly fine (well, it'll give me an error but it still sends it).
It happens so often, it starts to get frustrating.
Does this happen to anyone, if it does, any help?
(If it helps, I'm running BAMF Sense 3.0 RC3).
I can't use the phone function most of the time. When this happens, I usually have to do a battery pull, or a soft reset. Usually when I do a data wipe, it fixes the problem.
But how can I stop this problem from happening and make my phone reliable again?
You never explained exactly what it is that's happening that is making your phone unusable. How does it not send/receive calls?

but basically when I receive calls, they go straight to voicemail.
when dialing an outgoing call, it won't ring and the phone will say "call was lost", even when I have full service.

Have you try on stock rom and does data work ?

I just wiped everything clean. Data works fine and I'm able to send texts (but I receive a warning) and receive them too. Phone calls don't work. Do you think its a problem with the phone itself?

Should call Verizon tech support if I were and run stock ota update , they might be able to help you more then us right now

phone stops recieving texts can anyone help?
seems like everytime i run a sence 3.0 rom my phone will just stop getting text messages and rebooting doesnt seem to help
then if i nand back to a sence 2.1 rom the text i wasnt get all come is at boot up
what would be causeing this????
i had that problem on soab. i went into manage applications and cleared cache. then restarted. i started receiving texts again. but all the texts that were sent while not being able to receive were lost.

My girlfriend's Photon will not stop receiving texts. It's been receiving the same messages over and over all day and also randomly her bottom soft keys light up for no reason. Any ideas? This happens with Go SMS installed and also with stock messaging and Go NOT installed. Also when Go was installed, notifications on the stock messaging were turned off.
I had that issue...... i would suggest to delete all apps if possible and reinstall. Or back up everything and under settings do a factory reset on it. I thought my issue was a screen capture app that did it. I had the same text come to me freakin 25 times within 4 hours i was pissed.

but seriously something sounds very off, id suggest doing a factory reset
I had that also.. What i did was dl go sms .. And come to find out.. I was missing messages.. All my messages came and it stopped.. Then i deleted go sms .. No problems since

It seems today my phone quit receiving all text messages. I'm on Skyraider 1.3 and the .09 Radio. In the middle of the day I starting having people tell me they sent me messages and I never got them. I since reflashed my ROM with no wipe and updated to a new radio. Neither helped. any thoughts?
The problem mainly happened on aosp roms and always has for me at least. People tell me they tried to call me and/or text me and couldn't get through but others can. So I tried virus's new sense rom to see if that would help and she couldn't get through to me either plus I never got her texts. Also, I often get busy signals and call cannot be completed messages when trying to call out.
When on aosp I ru, the enghboot and sense its 1.58. Any ideas?

Flash a stock rom, and call your carrier. They can refresh your device, or re-activate it to fix this problem.
