Before anyone says anything, sorry for another s2 brick post but I've searched like mad! Downloaded like mad n stayed up till 2 hours before work to sort this n nothing so far.
I rooted my s2 successfully and installed a working kernel. For some reason any ROM o tried failed at flashing, so I went back intoodin n installed a new kernel but my laptop froze n now I'm bricked. I've tried reinstalling the kernel that worked n no hope and tried maybe 10 different kernels n nothing worked. I read on a post to try installing new firmware, some work n some fail, some just go into boot loop n some come up firmware problem use kies. I've tried combinations of kernels n firmware but its not worked, sometimes the phone loads up to boot logo then just goes off.
I'm trying to download some files now but my stock ROM download keeps stopping, I've got the bootloader n kernel just the ROM is playing up.
The one click unbrick doesn't see my phone as mass storage so won't work. Kies won't connect. I can get into recovery and download
Anyone have files that will definitely work or any advice.....phone is s2 i9100 on o2 uk
1) Download the stock rom using another internet connection (I.E an internet cafe. Because flashing one is the only way you're fixing this).
2) There has been dozens of 'Odin won't work/PC & phone won't recognise each other' threads on here over the past month. In many of them, someone here has listed the troubleshooting steps you go thru when this happens. Find them. And try those steps. All of them. With multiple PC's if you need to. And keep trying them until it works.
Edit - Use a more descriptive title than 'Please help'. Many people here will automatically not even bother to read your thread by default, which may deny you the chance to fix your phone.

Hello Guys, sorry if this is not in the correct part of the forum. This is for a GALAXY ACE BTW,
Lets Begin!,
I have installed CM7 Couples of days ago and all when perfectly fine, but now I want to get back to a stock ROM of my phone as I preferred the the other ROM.
What have I tried and not worked so far:
Odin OneClick Downloader - ( i have done the remove battery and sim and sd also )
(USB Debugging is also on)
I have ran it as admin
Ran Odin First
Then Plug in
and Boot to Download Mode
and Also tried ADB Reboot Download
I have tried this on 3 of my computers and I keep on getting stuck on File Analysis on all of the 3 Computers.
I have tried the Odin Multiloader also but still no luck Flashing back to the STOCK ROM.
Anyone has any suggestion, I have also tried flashing a new on it and it gets installed but does Boot Loop at Reboot. But when I flash CM7 everything is fine. I also have another GALAXY ACE (well not mine another member of the family) if that is any help of like make a back up and that and sending it to my phone!?#
I can also send screenshot if needed.
bootloop???
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20969794&postcount=2
and also use some specific version of odin for flashing phone..
you can find links in newbie guide or on sammobile
you've been "thanks" btw
Absolute start, did the same process using Coderom, i think i might do an nandroid of my sisters phone now and get back to the stock.
Thanks again
Phone specs first

PC is windows 8
I remember i had turned the usb debugging on in dev options
so last night i tried to install cyanogenmod on my device with the cyanogenmod installer for PC and Android.
I was having a bit of usb problems with noticing that my pc did detect the phone, but i couldn't see the phone in
"my computer" file. I thought it would soon fix by itself(i dont know why) and also noticing that detecting device in cm installer
took a lot of time. So when it finally detected the phone it started installing the CM. Although after coming to the
"installing operating system" point, it stopped and said "we couldn't talk to your phone" and having this blue CM guy standing in the screen
of my phone. I tried again several times with rebooting my pc and phone. To the phone appeared again this blue cm figure just standing there.
When i would go and try again on pc it said the "we couldn't talk to your phone" text again. So i gave up with the installer and thought that would be better to flash that CM with Odin. At this point i couldn't access my phone(except for download mode and recovery) of course because it had screwed up the system. I tried to search internet for some usb problem fixes and there were some solutions on changing something in your
device settings and dev options, i cant go there, so for now thats not an option. I started following a tutorial in youtube on how to install cm with odin and root your device. My first question here is that should i install everything and start from scratch (Gapps,CM and kernel) or just the CM ROM? And the problem here is that when i started following the tutorial and came up to the part of having to move the Rom,kernel and gapps to the phone's sd card, i realised that wouldn't work because i cant see the phone on my pc, for now that's the problem number 1. My pc says "unknown device" ( i think thats what it means, see im translating) when i try to plug my phone in. Got any solution for this so we could move on to step 2?
And btw this is in a bit of a hurry, as i really have to get this phone working today.I need it! :crying:
And yeah i did read the other threads about PC not recognizing the phone but those solutions there require the phone to be turned on and changing something there. So basically my phone is bricked and cant connect to pc with usb, i have tried another pc too with 2 usb cables but the phone wont show up under "my computer"
Get stock firmware from Samfirmware, try & flash with Odin. Problems with flash ? Find Hopper8's 'Odin troubleshooting' thread stickied in General; try as much of the stuff in that thread as you need to in order to get a successful flash of stock firmware & a clean slate (I.E a working phone, getting the phone back to this state should be your only thought at this point), then you can try reflashing a custom rom/whatever from there if you want to.
If you do have problems with the stock flash, make sure you actually do everything in the thread, or your phone will stay busted. These things are fixed with perseverance & doing everything possible, there is no easy fix.
Also, please don't post about the same issue twice, there was no need for you to make this thread & post to the other thread as well.

So just flashing the stock rom? Does the firmware need to be specifically from that region you live in?
Got the Odin detecting my phone now so that's one step further. Huge thanks for helping me!

Yes, for me. I never tried to flash stock rom using other country. So, I don't know what will happen if I do so. Maybe you will get some problems with calls, messages, etc..?
So now i have tried to flash 3 different ROM's and everytime i get stuck for a while in the SetupConnection step and after about 2 minutes it just says all threads completed succeed 0/1 failed and cant open the serial (COM) port. I am on download mode on the phone.
Then you need to go back to Hopper's thread and try everything suggested in the thread, including multiple PC's if necessary.
I did say your phone will stay busted in my PP if you didn't do everything in that thread as many times as you need to (looks like the prophecy is being fulfilled). There is nothing else that isn't in that thread that can be suggested in these situations, that thread is the Bible.
Only you can fix your phone in this situation, we can't do it for you. I've given you the tools to get it done, it's up to you whether you do & how long your phone stays in its current state.
Huuuge thanks to you !

I already said this, but thank you for helping, i got it working! I flashed in a cwm kernel and stock rom.You really dont know how
grateful i am! It was kinda stupid to go and try install cyanogenmod without backing up, but that's not going to happen in the future.
Also i think i needed this to happen, i mean it still was a very good lesson to understand the basics of odin flashing and kernels, roms and rooting.
I really thought for a while that i had lost my phone. Hopper8's thread really helped!
Good man. And yes, you're right, having this sort of thing happen early on can be a really good learning experience & give you the knowledge/confidence to recover from just about anything (had a not dissimilar experience to yourself about a week after I got my S2 2+ yrs ago, I learned a helluva a lot in the two days my phone was borked) that happens in future.
Don't forget to thank Hopper's OP in his thread if you haven't already.
I have looked around at some of the boot loop thread for an answer and I haven't see one for my exact issue. Before the error I was running Shostock3 and wanted to update to the Dirty Unicorns rom. My CWM wasn't the correct version so I flashed a new kernel that was recommended to me so I could run this rom. After successfully flashing the kernel I restarted my phone, but doing so places me in a stuck boot loop.
I only have access to Download mode and when I go into it and try to get odin to detect it, it fails to recognize my phone. I made sure the S2 mobile drivers were installed. I used several different cables and usb ports, I even tried a different computer to see if it would work with no success. I wanted to ask the brilliant people here if there was anything that could be done or would this be a lost cause?
If possible I would love to save my phone but I'm not sure what to try next. If this is somehow answered in another thread please don't stone me to death. I asked a couple of users and it was recommended that I asked for further help here. Thank you for taking the time to help me.
I also noticed this is in the wrong phone area and I'm sorry about that. Can this be move dto the I-777 forums
It's my beloved I9100P. Last night it strangely failed. I realised in the morning when the alarm didn't go off. The phone was switched off.
When I tried to switch on, it got stuck in boot loop. The carrier animation and samsung logo will keep repeating. So I thought I will go into recover mode and do a factory reset. Phone went into factory mode the first time. I thought let me do a restart from there, just to see what happens. At this point, I noticed a lot of red errors on recovery mode screen, most of which saying something like "unable to mount /cache". I restarted it, but unfortunately the phone again went into boot loop.
Now when I tried, it refused to go even to recovery mode. I tried several times, but every time it got stuck on Samsung Galaxy logo.
It went into download mode fine, so I thought I will flash Orange UK carrier ROM. I downloaded the ROM and tried flashing with ODIN. ODIN recognised the device, but the flashing failed with error "Complete (Write) operation failed".
I don't know what to do now, have exhausted all option that I knew.
Any help in reviving my phone please?
@kaushal101 Keep yourphone phone connected to your pc and keep it in download mode. Dont disconnect it it could turn into a hardbrick which you can't fix without jtag repair service.
What you could do is see or you have installled all drivers, kies is disabled, right odin version. Google the problem and you would probably find an answer fast. I hope this message isnt too late..

Interesting. After trying several things, I did unplugged it from the machine. It shows the upgrade failed warning message whenever I try to switch it on now, which was expected.
I can still go to download mode and restart the ODIN flashing original Orange firmware process, but it fails with the same error. The only difference is, the first time it failed on CACHE step. Now it is failing one step earlier, at NAND writing stage.
Is there any hope? I had kies disabled etc., but will give it another shot. My phone was accessible with kies and I could also upload my development APKs from Android studio. So I think drivers shouldn't be a problem.
@kaushal101 I dont really have much knowledge about the s2 anymore, so the only good thing I can suggest is to google the problem and get more people to your thread here to help you and or find other threads about the same thing.
It is good that your phone can still go into downloadmode, I think there is still hope to fix your phone

Thanks for keeping the hope alive!
Have followed XDA's S2-ODIN troubleshoot guide, with no luck so far. Tried different versions of ODIN, reinstalled USB drivers, made sure KIES is removed from processes etc. None has helped so far. I'll keep looking!

Did you tryed another stock rom version?
Try other usb cable.
Sounds weird but try to leave the battery out of your phone for like a couple minutes
Try other usb port.
Try other computer:silly:
These are the things I can think of atm.
Have tried other USB port. Have tried a different firmware.
Am going to try a different PC today, will also give different cable a shot. But the cable I'm using is Samsung official one which came with the phone. And I've been uploading APKs using this cable fine, so am quite sure the cable is fine. But still, will give it a shot. Thanks for replying
This problem has been driving me absolutely mental. About 2 months ago, I tried to root my Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 by T-Mobile (it was an old device anyways), I used the Odin method, and while it was installing, it said that the process was successful, and I saw it all come through. However, when my device restarted, it was stuck at "Starting apps..." for about an hour, so I tried restarting. Then it was stuck on the T-Mobile logo for 1.5 hours. I did a hard wipe/reset, and it was fine... for about a week.
The funny thing about it is, after I did the hard reset, certain bugs would happen, a different bug each time. (For example, Google Play apps would be stuck at "installing", screenshots wouldn't save, apps would crash repeatedly, etc) So if I tried to restart, it wouldn't fix it, but instead it would bootloop. I have to hard reset/wipe my whole system each time it happens, and it drives me up the friggin wall.
I saw online that you can try flashing your system by installing the default drivers onto your computer, and install it on your system through Odin. (or something like that, I'm not that professional at mobile technology) Awesome. Just one problem.. I have looked everywhere and I can't find the driver specifically for my system. I have looked for the driver ever since the problem got worse and I found out about this information, but I found nothing.
If anyone has any idea on how you can help, please respond as soon as you can. Thank you very much.

What you read in the internet means re-flashing your stock rom (system), that is the fix for your problem, the way to do it is to download and install Samsung USB drivers if you hadn't done that already, and Download stock rom from here or here search your model number in the search box and choose the stock rom based on your country, and flash with Odin, it's pretty much the same way you tried to root using CF-ROOT method:
1-you boot into download mode (volume down + home button + power button)
2-and then connect your phone to PC.
3-open Odin and uncheck everything except "auto reboot" and "F. Reset Time" (you should find it like that already), make sure your phone is recognized by Odin, you will see a blue box with a message saying "0:[COMX]" where X is a number.
4-press AP (or PDA in some versions) locate your stock rom which should be in .md5 format, and choose it, then 5-press start.
6-wait for the process to finish (takes a while) and then the phone should reboot itself and you will get a message in Odin saying "Reset!"
PS: you must register on the sites to download..bad thing i know but it's obligation.
Searched both of these websites for the drivers, found nothing.. I've been searching the internet for hours and not one driver was found. Extremely disappointed.

It doesn't need any advanced computer and only the size of the stock rom and Odin, it's no big deal.
