The only thing I didn't like about the Mean Bean ROM was the fact that city couldn't have the stock notifications toggles with the brightness slider.
This is a modified systemUI that I tested with Mean Bean ICE V1.06 and so far it is working great.
Please note I am not responsible for anything that could probably go wrong on your phone after you use this mod.
Copy it to system/app and make sure permissions are set correctly

Haha. Sorry bro. The problem you are having with your file explorer is that you have to change the system folder from read-only to read/write.
I am used to Root Explorer. In Root Explorer there's an option when you open a folder to make it write able. And then if you right click the file (long press) you have the option to change permissions of the file.
I don't know how that's done with the file explorer you are using. Maybe someone will chime in.

Nice mod op
Don't want to sound negative but the directions to do this mod is quite unclear
I end up doing it twice to get it to work
1st time I just use root explore to copy the modded file to system/app and when it prompt if I like to replace the original file input yes and thats when the system ui keep crashing
So I rebooted and reflash the rom then try again
This time instead of replacing the original file I have it create a copy then I changed the permission to rwrr and rename the file to replace the original
Reboot and all was well. Nice mod
I think you should redo the directions on how to do it properly than just a simple copy and paste as it actually require a few more steps. Just my 2cents

Ah that mms.odex will overwrite the mms.apk. Try to rename the mms.odex file to mms.odex.bak or something then reboot. That should make the ROM start using the APK file and at the same time, use the graphics in the mms.apk.

Here you go
Make sure you manually move this into your system/app and change perms accordingly. Make sure your mms.odex is there as well with the same perms. Also if you did rename the mms.odex before to .bak or something please undo it. It needs to be Mms.odex

A bootanimation.zip and shutdownanimation.zip made to sport the LG Optimus G(E970) and its S4pro CPU. I haven't tested it on any other models, so proceed at your own risk.
Uploading a preview to youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-t_47gDGCxE&feature=youtu.be
TO INSTALL:
You must first be rooted
Download the two zip folders
Paste them into /system/media
DO NOT forget to backup your original boot/shutdownanimation.zip folders (if you need a copy of them let me know and I will upload them.)
And you are finished
Instructions on rooting and more can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006946&highlight=root
soo, just flash in recovery?
Put the zip files in the /system/media folder. And it works like a charm.

All credit goes to its420oclock :good::good:
YouTube Preview:
DO NOT FLASH IN RECOVERY!!
---- REPEAT ----
DO NOT FLASH IN RECOVERY!!
TO INSTALL:
Download bootanimation.zip & shutdownanimation.zip
Move to phone memory (or SDCard)
Use RootExplorer to copy & paste both zip files into /system/media
(If you want to keep your original boot/shutdown animations as backups, add .bak to their file name before pasting the new animations)
Here's another version... Animations are slowed down slightly and the shutdown animation is reversed, so the OG logo gets smeared, then erased.

go to this thread on your phone, and click the apk to download it. after downloading it go to the folder where it downloaded to and click it to install it. a prompt should come up giving you the option to choose which program youd like to use to install the apk file. "Rom customizer" should be one of those options, along with "apk installer".
Click Romcustomizer and click "just once". after that it will ask you where to install, click "system". the apk will install . you then reboot your phone

Had the problem of parsing too. Mine was a bad download. Could also be that your setting for install from unknown sources isn't checked too under security.

/system/media/audio
Then put the sound file in the appropriate folder, ringtones, notifications or alarms.

Alright so I have a majority of apps running except the clock and keyboard on a safestrapped ME7 S4 running GPE rom INCLUDING the "Ok Google" voice activation from the home screen. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2506424)
Awesome.....

What's involved with getting that beautiful full screen album cover on the lockscreen while music is playing?
That's not the launchers doing. You would need to wait until there is a ROM available that's 4.4

You don't need root. Just put them in data/media or ext SD in folders Alarms/Notifications/Ringtones .. the only ones you wont be able to use is ui.

Yup!! Put them in your internal or external memory .. and check if they are there. You may have to reboot but they should all show up for ringtone/notification selection!
