Video is in the original thread
How does it work
- Setup your settings in the UI.
- Then go to your System Settings -> Accessibility -> Floating Notifications - Turn it on
You will see one test notification. You will see this ANYTIME the service starts/restarts. This is there so A you know the service has started and B so you can get a feel for how they work. This will obviously NOT be in the final version.
Controls
- Tap to open the stack
- Tap the current notification to close the stack
- Tap the text of a notification to launch that app
- Drag the first notification in the stack to move around the screen
- Double tap to close a notification
- Double tap a closed stack to close all notifications
App List
- Checkbox to enable disable
- Second icon is expanded notification text
- Third is stack messages (meaning show all or show only the latest)
- Fourth is enable actions (JB+ if your notification normally has any buttons they'll appear)
- Fifth is wake the screen on notification
Sensitivity
- The double tap threshold refers to the amount of time in milliseconds between taps. So if you set it to 1000 it will wait one second for your second tap before it brings up the text.
To be added (or being considered)
- Dock at the side of the screen (half off screen like Halo)
- Quick replies
- Ability to toggle each animation on or off
- Get expanded text for certain apps - Whatsapp messages
- Show over locksceeen
- Screen turn on for notification
Known Bugs (Please do not report these)
- 2.2 - 3.0 devices - You can only tap the first notification (You'll have to clear the first to get to the second for the moment - Sorry)
- Bubble jumps when on right side of screen
- You may get a notification with no text - if you get this scroll it and the text will appear
- Whatsapp expanded only shows the first message - everything after will say "new message from x"
- Slight margin on the right side
Issues which can not be fixed
- Google Now notifications do not appear in this app
- Kik Messenger notifications do not appear in this app
- Sometimes clicking the notification text the app doesn't launch for a few seconds
- Notifications will not disappear from your notification bar as this is not something that can be done. However if you open the an app the floating notification for that app will automatically close. (Not a bug but worth noting)
If you receive no notifications
Do you have other accessibility services enabled? If so disable them, enable Floating Notifications, then re enable them.
My phone has started reading to me
If you're on a Samsung device see here for a variety of possible fixes (This is a Samsung bug) - https://code.google.com/p/android/is...etail?id=23105
If you're not then ensure TalkBack is disabled, preferably uninstall/freeze it if you don't use it
I'll be posting regular progress updates to the thread but for those who want to follow elsewhere I'll also be posting progress updates to Twitter, G+ and Facebook. The APK however will only remain in this thread (until we hit beta).

What is "HALO"
Ans : HALO – a Facebook Chat Heads-style notification system that works universally for all your system and app notifications. What’s more – it also opens up the relevant screen of the appropriate app in a floating window for you to respond to the notification, so you don’t have to completely switch to that app from what you’re doing.
HALO
HALO is one of the best things to ever hit Android. It is basically an omnipresent bubble that shows you notifications for every app and system feature installed on your device right on top of whatever app or screen you have open, while still remaining unobtrusive enough to not cause a distraction in your workflow. The bubble also shows the picture or icon associated with the notification – basically what you would see in the notification pull-down gets shown in the circle. Here, take a look for yourself.
As you can see, the bubble shows toast-like popups for notifications from any app that you would otherwise get in the notification shade. It works no matter what app you have open, and can be dragged around on the screen to be positioned anywhere you like, and even dismissed by dropping it on the on-screen cross that appears. Being a feature of the ROM itself, it does require you to be running Paranoid Android or any other HALO enabled rom on your device, but that doesn’t mean all Rom users have to use it – it is an opt-in feature and can be enabled by hitting its button from the notification shade, highlighted below.
If you thought receiving notifications like this for all your apps was awesome, try tapping on one of the notifications; what you’ll get is nothing short of groundbreaking. The app’s appropriate section opens up in a floating popup above whatever you have open, and lets you quickly respond to the notification. You can then tap anywhere outside that popup to dismiss it and return to what you were doing. The following screenshots should give you a clear picture.
As you can see above, I can simply tap on a Facebook message’s notification to open that very conversation in the actual Facebook app in a popup, reply to it right away, and dismiss it to resume exploring music in Google Play All Access.
If you find the idea of having an omnipresent chat bubble on your screen intrusive, fret not – after being inactive, it is set to automatically set itself to half-transparent, and slide towards the nearest screen edge to hide half of it off the screen. If that bothers you as well and you’d rather have it gone altogether when inactive and only show up when a new notification is received, just go to Settings > Toolbars and enable the ‘Hide HALO after activity’ option.
You’ll also see a ‘Reverse HALO gestures’ feature here, which brings us to HALO’s gestures. If you have multiple notifications, you can simply double-tap-and-swipe or long-press-and-swipe on the HALO bubble and move your finger away from the screen’s edge that HOLO is docked next to, to switch between the notifications. You’ll see ) signs for every notification you have, and moving your finger from one to the next will switch to that notification, also changing the image shown in the bubble accordingly. Getting back to the ‘Reverse HALO gestures’ option, it lets you switch to the single-tap-and-drag gesture for switching between the notifications and double-tap-and-swipe or long-press-and-swipe for dragging the bubble around or dismissing it by dragging it to the cross.
Speaking of dragging it to the cross, using that gesture to dismiss HALO basically disables it, and you have to re-enable it from the notification shade to get it back. At the moment, there seems to be no way to selectively dismiss individual notifications from HALO, which is the only shortcoming we can see for now. However, dismissing them from the notification shade itself eventually takes notifications away from the HALO bubble as well.
HALO))) app
While HALO itself works great for all your notifications by default, what if you had a way to open apps of your choice in HALO’s on-screen popup mode from any screen or any app, even when you don’t have any active notifications from those apps? HALO also comes with a companion app called HALO))) that can be installed from the Play Store for free, and this app lets you do just that! Simply launch it, use the pin icon from the action bar to select any apps that you want to access from anywhere via this method, and hit the right-most button (that initially looks like a play button) to start the service.
Doing this will instantly add entries for all the selected apps to your notifications, and you can access them all in their own minified popup forms from anywhere in Android using the same gesture on the HALO bubble that’s used for all other notifications.
This can be immensely useful, as you can imagine. While doing some reading on Flipboard, if I’m getting annoyed by the screen timing out and turning off while I’m in the middle of going through an interesting article, I can just use this gesture to quickly bring up Wakey on my screen, tap its bulb icon to enable the ‘keep screen awake’ mode, and tap anywhere outside that popup to dismiss it and resume reading. Previously, I would have had to go to my home screen, then to the app drawer to launch Wakey and enable it, then back to Flipboard using the multitasking screen. See all the steps it saves you? You can add any app to the list, and the few that we can think of being immensely useful this way include the Calculator, Camera, your favorite file manager and note-taking apps, and just about any tool that you frequently need to access quickly for one small function while you already have a main app open.
To sum it up, HALO is one of the greatest things that has ever happened to Android, and has already become a daily driver for me on my Xperia Z running the latest alpha version of PAC. The feature is currently available only on Alpha released of the ROM, but has been stable enough in our experience. HALO as well as the ROM itself are being actively improved, and the developers plan on pushing it to stable releases pretty soon

Hi,
I was going to write a 4-way reboot mod but decided to have a look around first..
I found Wanam Xposed: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.xposed
This mod requires the Xposed Framework to be installed, you can find the link in the credits.
Installation:
You need root, and you need to be running the Xposed Framework. Install the app from playstore, activate the module via Xposed app, reboot, presto.
Compatibility:
I have only tested this on the i9205 running UAMG4, but frankly this should work on most Samsung 4.2.2 stock firmwares.
Confirmed as working:
- 4 way reboot
- call recording
- transparent notification panel
- circle battery
- remove emergency call button (lock screen)
- custom carrier label (lock screen)
- resizable notification panel toggles
- black/white notification panel toggles
- status bar font size / font weight mods
- spoof "official" device status on rooted/custom devices
- 360 deg. Rotation
Credits:
1. @wanam for the Wanam Xposed mod. Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2383484
2. @rovo89 for the Xposed framework. Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
Any screen shots? Do I need to install the Xposed app after installing the Xposed framework or do they come in one package?
Download the app which then allows you to install the framework within. Download the module and activate reboots required as far as I recall

Thanks it works.
I wonder if it is possible to have a switch to turn off the low battery (5%) dimming on Mega.
New update for Wanam from the Play store, now enabling call button on the call log screen without extra work plus more tweaks
Thanks for the update.
A second feature I want badly is to have a notification panel to toggle of "negative colors", accessible from the Settings, My Device, Accessibilty. Maybe a new panel toggle button or to reprogram an existing panel toggle button.
This is awesome, never realised how useful the multiscreen is combined with wanam tweaks. And i can finally get rid of the aweful volume warning. All seem to work flawless for now.

Hey guys. Can someone point me to the setting for the:
- re-sizable notification panel toggles
I cannot find anything for re-sizing the toggles.
The below are how I have the toggles now. I don't think I re-sized them in any way. I only removed the text and change color, if I'm not mistaken.

Silly me. I saw that but I avoided it because it said about Landscape and I assume it only works for landscape orientation.
Thanks dchsub.
Setting it to 7 tiles obviously it displays 7 tiles when I drag the notification down and there're actually smaller.
I have set it to 4 and its fine. It might be the same size as 5 tiles but I happy with it.
Description:
With Active Display your device can turn on when new notifications arrive and display that information to you on the screen. There is no need to turn your device on every time you hear that distinctive notification sound. Your notifications are right where you need them without all the clutter and free from other distractions. If your device has a proximity sensor, which most touch screen phones have, you are in luck. Active Display will not turn on if it detects something close to this sensor. So if you have your phone stashed away in your pocket or bag, don't worry, it won't turn the display on and waste your battery. And as an added bonus we've included an option to turn on pocket mode. When this is enabled active display will turn on your screen and display your current notifications instantly, provided you have any pending notifications.
Instantly turns the device screen on and displays notifications as they arrive
Up to 8 notifications displayed in a horizontal strip that can be viewed by touching the notification icon
Short notification description can be displayed around the outside of the center ring
Touch the center ring notification to view the full notification
Unlock the device, open the app for the current notification or dismiss the current notification
Set a re-display time to have active display remind you of your pending notifications
Adjustable brightness level for when active display turns the screen on
Pocket mode which allows active display to turn on once you remove the device from your pocket or bag

yes. it's a really needed feature.
Only check this option to work, if disabled the lock screen.
Because with disabled the lock screen - status bar disappears.
would be amazing if we can make this the default lock screen? so even with no notifications active display is still our lock screen?

ChaOS already has...
Should be able to pick it for PAC pretty easily. I use it, the only "annoying" part is the screen turns on whenever there is light changes - so it might turn on more than expected. But waving your hand over the phone and having it wake to show the date/time is pretty sweet
Would there be any way to use this with a notification blacklist? Like if I don't want all of my BBM notifications constantly lighting up my phone...
How battery consuming this feature is??
Any one who is using this feature??
Default lockscreen!!!! Pls pls pls...

very nice function
This module will force the apps selected to use the new Kit Kat Translucent Navbar and Status bar. When loaded, this app loads a list view of all your installed apps and you can freely select which to turn on.
Options per app include:
- Translucent Navigation Bar
- Translucent Status Bar
- Top Padding
- Bottom Padding
The padding options were added because some apps (especially those with Action Bars) will end up having useful information and buttons hidden under the now translucent system bars. The padding option forces the app to be in a smaller window so you can still enjoy both the translucent system bars & the whole view for the app.
Overall options include:
- Import/Export Settings : the settings per app can be exported and imported into a CSV file. Useful for testing things out while having a fail safe, switching devices, or sharing your values. CSV files open wonderfully in Excel and Google Docs
- Multi Edit : After selecting multi edit, you are brought to a screen with the 4 per app options, set them as you desire, then you are brought back to the main app list, select which apps you want your new config you just did applied to. It will overwrite all settings for the apps selected, unselected apps aren't changed.
The following apps work wonderful with translucent nav and status bar and padding of 0 for both top and bottom:
- Aviate
- Google Search (aka Google Now)
- Imgur
- XDA (The top nav buttons are big enough to still touch)
- Cal
- Threes
The following apps required me to do the top padding of 145 to achieve full functionality:
- Floating Widget (shameless plug)
- Xposed Installer
- Gmail / Email
- Google Play Store
Please share your results in the thread.
Without saying, this will only install on API 19+ (4.4)

Are you able to choose which apps have forced translucence? Also, would it be possible to create a module that does the opposite and prevents translucency in selected apps?

When I was messing around with just that, the app's screen still resulted in being pushed under the status bar (which remained black)...so know I thought of that, but first trials were unsuccessful.
very good module!! is missing some features like extra top/button margin for apps with buttons in these areas
Great module, thank you.
Just a suggestion, but it would be nice if there were an option to only force transparency on the navigation bar.
With so many apps having an action bar up top, forced transparency on the status bar isn't really feasible.
But most apps don't have features at the bottom of the screen, so stretching the background to go behind the navigation bar isn't a problem for the most part.

Very buggy here, I'm on CM11, and with this moudule, content starts just from the very top of the screen, under the action bar, so I can't even tap the first object of the list. This happens in Whatsapp, for example. On apps like Facebook action bar is below status bar icons, and the look is kinda messy. Are there any known bugs of compatibility with tinted sb?
Know more about your omnirom...
This guide will familiarize you with some of the unusual techniques and special features you get with omnirom. It doesn't matter if you are using it on galaxy 5 OR any other device.
Let's start
Quick Settings Panel:
First of all please keep in mind what I mean by these:
Pen icon =
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Square icon =
Remove/hide tiles:
--->Click on the pen icon on the Recent Apps panel to start editing tiles.
--->Then, just tap on the tiles that you want to hide/remove. Then, tap the square icon above. Tiles would automatically adjust themselves. If you want this tile back, just click on pen icon and then you'll see the tile you removed (in a smaller tile) and just tap on it again to get it back.
Example:
I have tapped on battery tile because I want to remove it.
Dim the tiles:
--->First of all, tap the pen icon.
--->Start taping on the tile you want to dim, until it turns dim. Usually after 4-5 taps it turns dim.
--->Then, finalize them by clicking square icon.
--->To un-dim, press pen icon and then just long hold it and move around little bit and bring back to its position, it will be normal again and press square icon to finalize.
Example:
I have dimmed battery tile,it's hardly visible.
Flip the tiles:
--->Just swipe right or left on the tile you want to flip.
Example:
I have flipped the battery tile and it looks like this!
I am swiping the battery tile.
Notification drawer contextual top background:
Morning
Afternoon
Night
As you can see in the screenshots, the top background in the notification drawer is changed according to the time.
Enable from Settings > Notification drawer:
Notification drawer quick swipe even better:
Now, you can swipe right/left from anywhere inside notification drawer to go to quick settings panel unlike in cyanogenmod where you had to swipe from a line at the bottom.
Example:
The white dot shows from where i'm swiping right.
OmniSwitch:
Enable from Settings > more... (under Interface). Check the box- 'Use for Recents' and also go to Settings below that option and it will open up a new window. Turn on omniswitch from there also and check 'start on boot' if you want.
To swipe away apps like you do in normal recent apps' screen, just swipe down on the app.
Searching for lockscreen settings?
Go here: Settings > Security > lockscreen.
There are many new options under there compared to cyanogenmod. One of them is 'See through' which will keep your last screen on the lockscreen.
Example:
I was in the launcher last time before locking.
Active Display:
This is really nice feature. When your phone is locked and you get a notification, it will display a special screen which will look as shown in image below. It can also get you to app from which you receive notification and also you can see the notification there if you want.
Example:
But, when this feature is turned on, your lockscreen becomes very unresponsive (maybe a bug). When you press any key to show up the lockscreen, it will take 8-9 seconds to come up the lockscreen.
Wanna change battery indicator?:
Head over to: Settings > Battery.
Want more performance Settings?
Just swipe right like you do in Play Store and you'll get more settings.
Example:
Saw the new download notification?
In omnirom, download notification is more detailed. It displays even the download speed.x
That's it for now...
