This. They still claim it's a security issue so the fcc/etc doesn't crawl down their throats.

And as a side note Isis won't work on a rooted phone.

It works with no workaround on my One because of good guy Sprint. I just wish their coverage wasn't so crap.

I know on other models of the phones you could get around the initial setup of the application by changing the build.prop to the verizion galaxy nexus. Then one the app was installed and setup you could revert the build.prop change so you would get normal suggestions for compatible apps on the play store.
Not sure if this works on the GS4 but it has on other NFC enabled Verizon phones.

I think now you can used the xposed framework to work around it without having to mod your build.prop.

Same here; last info I've heard as I understand it is that the AT&T HTC One does not have the Secure Element enabled. I'm not sure if there's a workaround, but I'm searching for answers. It has been suggested that a new ROM with the secure element enabled might help, but I don't know of any (but I am far from an expert

I think It may. The sprint version actually has gsm radios with 3g and lte. So As the international and t-mobile and att version are all the same boards it is not a big stretch to say that the sprint board may be the same too or have the same major components. I think we will have a hack for wallet at some point.

Hey guys, just dropping by from the DNA forum. For anyone interested I would keep an eye on this site...
http://www.simplytapp.com/
Tapp works different then Google Wallet, as in it doesn't require an embedded secure element. There was an older version of Tapp released in the play store when CyanogenMod 9 was released, but they are currently working on a newer version. I was able to get in touch with a member of the Tapp team, and was informed that the project is still on track!
Until Google decides to make some major changes to how Google Wallet functions with the secure element, then we won't be seeing GW on the DNA or the One series ( aside from sprint).

If someone can rewrite wallet to make it work without an SE then more power to them. I would love to see it happen. Most of the hacks and work arounds have involved build.prop changes, and libs from a sprint variant to make wallet function correctly. So far that appears to not be the case anymore. Google them selves said with the release of the Google Edition HTC One that it does not have an embedded secure element, thus it cannot be used with Google Wallet.
It's a ****ty situation for HTC devices. Either HTC needs to ship secure elements on there phones or Google needs to allow Wallet to work without one.
Hopefully with apps like SimplyTapp, this will force some much needed change in this area!

I think this might have been answered before, but why can't the LG Optimus G use Google Wallet to make NFC payments? I use Vanilla Rootbox (the May 18 build) and it lets me install it, but I've been worried that running it might damage something since I read we can't use it.
My main question: Why can't we use it when the Nexus 4 (by most all regards, the same phone) can?

So why can't we use the Xposed mod? I just have a hard time believing that the Spring LGOG and AT&T LGOG could be so different (I thought the only real difference was the camera, TBH. I'm probably way off though. Idk.)

You can use the xposed mod. It's not just for us. It's for any phone. The xposed framework has more use than just the wallet mod as well. But if I had to guess, I'd say it'd be hit and miss as well. (besides the radios, design change, and camera, they pretty much are the same)

Visitor here from the s4 thread. Just wanted to shed some light on Isis for you guys. I for one hate Isis and will stick with Google wallet for as long as I can but if you want to try Isis, you can. They're testing in two markets. However, you're still able to get the Isis sim without being in those markets because Isis works where any paywave/paypass terminals are. Not just Isis terminals. I wanted to try Isis and be open-minded. After an hour on the phone with the rep at the call center and reps at the test markets, I found out the correct item number for the Isis sim which is 'item #41005'. Just ask them you'd like an item shipped and you have the item number. They'll ship it for free. Once you receive it, you activate it and launch Isis. As you're well aware, it won't work with rooted phones. If you're willing to try it, go for it. But for me, I didn't like it at all. It is very limited and clunky. They only support two credit cards but there is an Isis reloadable card you may use if you don't have the cards supported. But I'm sticking with Google wallet on my phone.

Anyone have any suggestions? I would donate a good chunk of change if anyone could program a solution or come up with one.

Because Verizon always wants a piece of the pie no matter what. Google Wallet doesn't benefit them. Instead, they tried to get in with other carriers to create Isis, which is the same technology. Problem is that Isis is pretty much dead in the water, but Verizon won't give on to that reality, so they block the feature. With root, yes it is possible to use Google Wallet tap to pay. I did on my Galaxy S3.

It can be done on the S3, S4 and Note 2 currently with root. In theory it could still work on the Note 3. Its just a simple edit of the build.prop to another device model, install and setup wallet, then change the model number back.

Changing the build prop is only half the fix you would need libs from either a sprint note 3 ROM. Once we get a recovery I will make a lib fix zip just as I did for the Verizon note 2.

Don't really need a flash file for this as you can manually place all the files as well. As far as I know though the Note 3 is missing the secure element to make this possible.
I sure the note 3 has a secure element ISIS uses the secure element and that works for tap to pay.

It's a third-party thing, and being pushed pretty hard by Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. Thanks to this, I can't use Google Wallet as an option NFC mobile payments.
i remember when I had a note 2, with ATT, a few folks had ISIS on their phones, and we also not able to use google wallet; ISIS adds some files to your phone, that keeps Google Wallet from working..
I think there's more to it than that. Both my current and previous (Droid DNA) phones did not come with Isis installed. It's likely not supported in the Google Wallet app (device not certified). Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile probably made a big enough fuss.
I remember when Wallet first came out, and Sprint was the only carrier to support it. Seems like nothing had changed.
