So I installed it last night and it works great for the most part. The main issues I'm experiencing are the back and search hardware buttons do not work (home is back) nor do they light up, no incoming or out going sound on voice calls, and short battery life. After work I typically have about 70% battery left, today the phone died as I left. And I didn't check to see if the GPS, BT, and Cameras work. i heard video recording doesn't work on the international SGS2 with 4.0.3
anyone else tried it yet?
Here is a link to the Galaxys2root.com video where I found the link to the file.
What rom?
What ROM did you install? I looked at the ones listed under the AT&T GS2, and the only one close to ICS was the ICScreweD rom, which is not ICS.
Well, here's hoping that we get some ICS love soon...

You installed an international rom on your ATT phone. Hopefully you're able to flash it back to normal and a boot loader didn't come with it. Good luck.
PS
Red5 is probably 3 seconds away from locking this lol

this is for the i9100 int'l SGS2 btw, NOT FOR AT&T I777

He installed one of the leaked samsung roms. It is for the international version and so it will have the softkey and call problems like he described.
It is obviously not something you would use as a daily driver, but it is fun to see what is on the way sometimes.
Thanks for not saying what ROM it was or thats its an international version so that other people that dont/cant read will flash and then we have 65146510484 threads started because their phone dosent work.
So to answer the OP question: No, because this rom isnt made for our phone... which is why about 40% your phone didnt work.

I know this may sound weird but i have issues sending and receiving mms and my data can be a little spotty since moving to Red Pocket. The sim card installs a sim toolkit, not sure what it installs but when clicking the app it wants to show your account balance. So i did a little experimenting, i returned my phone back to bone stock, wouldnt you know i can send mms without any issues. So next ill apply root and see what happens, then use titanium to remove the sim toolkit.
Just want some thoughts, rom? Kerenel? Aliens in my phone?
Having a brain fart, I believe some of the roms increase then size of the mms that can be sent, wondering if the file size is too large?
Ok so far i can only run stock rooted, unnmaed, and TASK650's ICS'd OUT allow me to send mms on a consistent basis What am i missing?
Prbly having to do something with the hellraised i9100/AOSP ROMs.
Would a bad sim cause this? I'm on Unnamed 1.3.2 without any issues. Thinking heading to the man (att) to get signed up.

I'm sure it has to do with tweaks made to the mms in these roms, something the redpocket network doesn't like. Might make a trip the att store to see what one of their plans will cost me.

Most likely it's the CSC or the APNs.
I use my i777 also with other carriers, and what i have found is that some roms don't read the APN's that the sim have. So i would suggest you to double check the APN values.
That Sim Toolkit is just a shortcut for service that your sim would have, in my case is check balance, horoscope, new promotions and some more services.

Yeah I found that different roms setup the apn differently. Right now I have the apn type set to internet+mms+supl, not sure if the supl has anything to do with it.

I have found on many ROMs if I try to send the MMS from the camera or gallery app they won't send. But, if I go into messages and attach from there they send fine. I'm on shostock currenty, on att. I've tried every variation possible for the apns. The only time I can send a MMS from the camera or gallery is on complete stock, or MIUI. I gave up trying to figure it out long ago.

That sucks, I'm on unnamed right now and have no issues sending mms from gallery or camera. But I also had no issues sending from Gophone or h2o wireless. Just since switching to red pocket.
sent from my SGH-I777 w/Tapatalk
I could send from the gallery and camera just fine on unnamed too ... until I flashed S8. Since then even if I go back to unnamed it doesn't work. I don't want to blame S8 for it, but I was not the only one that had it happen just like that. Check the posts in the S8 thread. It was kind of a big thing. There was a ton of posts of people that had MMS break after flashing S8, no matter what they tried or what other ROMs they flashed. While I don't blame S8, one thing is sure .... I'll never flash it again.

I'm no android programmer, rom guru,...but i just found something interesting. What i thought might be a rom issue may be a kernel issue, at least for me. I had been running unnamed with DD12/08/11 kernel, great kernel. I had tried siyah 2.6.11 with unnamed and had issues sending mms. I did my little experiment, installed shostock 1.9.3 last night, this comes with DD2/18a, i was able to send 1 mms then after that failed attempts. So i went back to the 12/8/11 DD kernel and shostock 1.9.3 and wouldn't you know i'm sending mms again. So for me what kernel im running effects whether or not im able to send mms. That seems really odd to me, or should it?
Didn't want to clam up the CM9 thread with this so am asking here. I am currently running rooted stock GB on my Photon and since hearing about official ICS probably being dropped for Photon, I'm seriously considering unlocking and flashing CM9.
However, since I use this phone for business I need to know exactly what is working currently and what is not. I have not been able to find a working/non-working listing for the current build in Joker's thread and have read through the "fixes" thread.
I know 4g is not working (obviously). I also have read that camcorder and possibly mms is not working. Is this true? Saw there may be a version with mms working? How about bluetooth, gps, camera, etc? Any wifi or wireless tether issues? Is there anything with limited functionality that has no real fix yet?
**EDIT...Have given CM9 a shot and with some testing had to switch to something else.
Camera is sketchy, kinda depends on who you ask. Everything else pretty much works. Even if you find something funky it'll probably get fixed within a couple of days. Gotta love the speed of the updates.
I've run into more trouble with apps not being ICS-compliant than with the ROM itself, which is what prevents me from getting too excited.
I haven't heard anything about the official ICS being dropped though; most of that comes from people in panic mode after the EOL leak. Motorola could still support the Photon for a long while after Sprint's EOL date. EOL basically means no new ones to be sold, not that it never existed. I saw Sprint selling Heroes a couple of months ago and they were yanked years ago.

Thing that concerned me about the EOL release is Sprint stating that the only updates that will be released for those devices are critical updates. Sprint will still have to test and approve ICS once Moto is done with it which may not happen now.
As for CM9, does camcorder work for you? Are you on the latest build?
I switched back to stock so I can't test it but the still camera worked fine for me this morning. I was running 0.4.2.1.
Anyone know where I can get the pudding unlocker? Google doesn't turn up anything for me and links are down.
Edit...I used the smaller one. Noticed it is unlocked with that so ignore my request.
Well I'm on MIUI 2.3.16, which is based on Joker's CM9, and my video camera is extremely laggy. It also crashes when I try to hit the stop record button. Also, flash player in the browser is messed up. For the most part though everything works. You can get MMS working by using GoSMSPro, or setting up APNs.
Wifi, and wireless tether works perfectly fine for me. Hope this helps.
Edit, The3Bill just put up a fix for MMS.

I was just wondering if there is a tmo wifi calling app for any of the JB roms that are currently available for our Vibrant...
I've been through a lot of threads and haven't seen any mention of it. Haven't yet flashed JB yet (should be tomorrow though!).
Thanks.

There are several VOIP apps on the market, namely Google Voice, which allows free calling irrc. I am not aware of any VOIP apps by TMo though.
Google voice is only for the States. Use talkatone, ChatON, Kakaotalk, or just search on Google play store. Sorry can't give links, I'm on my phone so just search it. Not too hard to find. Good luck!
No, no, no. T-Mobile users can use the T-Mobile WiFi Calling App. Its been made to work on Froyo, GB, and ICS.
In areas where you have little to no cell signal, you can connect to WiFi, and this little app allows you to send and receive calls and texts just as if you had perfect cell signal.
My original question, was inquiring as to whether or not anyone had tinkered with it and made it compatible with any of the current JB builds.
JB is still new, so it comes as no surprise that it hasn't been done yet.
No big deal. Reason I originally posted that, was because if one ROM had it working over another, then I would have tried that ROM first as I said no biggie.

AFAIK, T-Mobile wifi calling was made to work on froyo and GB, but never on ICS, several devs tried it, but weren't able to make it work. I doubt there'll ever be T-Mobile wifi calling for the Vibrant on JB.
Have you tried bobsled app?

Look for a jelly bean version and stumbled across this posting. For the t-mobile G2 there is an ICS version which works.
We just bought a Galaxy S2 from t-mobile, it came preinstalled with the new ICS update on it already (brand new device). The device has Wifi calling built in. It's not a separate app though, its built into the device settings, enabled and disabled from there. Looking for it on my Vibrant though :s

I'm using Bobsled app on my Defy with Android 4.1.2 without problem, but I'm pretty sure it can be configured with another "standard" SIP client like CSIP or 3CX (just don't know how to do it...)
I'd tried to see what's the SIP credentials on my own account using wireshark in the middle, but only have on clear that the SIP gateway is: wvp.vivox.com:5062
If anyone could help us on the right direction, should be nice...
Hi guys,
I have a T-Mobile HTC One and last night I unlocked, rooted, and flashed ARHD 30.0. I used to have the capability of Wifi calling, which T-Mobile offers for free. For those of you unfamiliar who may be familiar with a substitute, this feature allows users to call and text over Wifi, which is especially useful when service is unavailable.
Ever since I flashed the ROM, this feature doesn't show up in my settings. Does anyone know of a substitute that has the same or similar features? Also, does anyone know of the newest Revolution ROM that includes this capability? I'd like the newest possible ROM.
Thanks
I believe when T mobile release 4.3 for the One the devs will be able to include wifi calling in their ROMs. I don't know of any alternatives. 4.3 is supposed to go out on Monday so it shouldn't too much longer...

OK great. So you think it should be available in the next couple of weeks? Does Mike make these ROMs specifically for different carriers or is it a one ROM fits all kind of thing?
Also, if I flash a newer ROM, do I lose all my data on my phone? And if so, is there a way to backup and restore everything including my apps and settings?
I'm pretty new to this. Thanks for your help.
If you're on 4.1.2 right on you're going to get some annoying problems when first updating.
You'll most likely just want to do a complete wipe of your entire phone. (backup what you need)
There is a adb command you can run, check the trickdroid website there's a tutorial.
If we get an update Monday, Wi-Fi calling should be added relatively quickly to the existing ROMs. Like a day or two.

Ok great. Will the new Revolution HD ROM have a different version number? I just want to make sure I don't miss it. And when it is released, where will be the first place it will be announced? I'm very anxious to get my W-Fi calling back, since I have poor reception at school and work, but Wi-Fi is more readily available.

FYI, Insertcoin 5.0-5 incorporated the latest T-Mo update, and now has working Wi-fi calling on T-Mobile. ARHD will likely upgrade soon too, but these roms are somewhat similar and Insertcoin runs great. Here's a link:

Hmm. I may have to try InsertCoin if Mike doesn't update his ROM. He just released a new version of ARHD (31.0) and it doesn't say anywhere that he's added WiFi calling. So I'm not sure if he is planning on doing it in the next couple of weeks or if he's just going to forget about it.

I bit the bullet and tried insert coin, not too impressed compared to trickdroid although it's probably just due to my ignorance.
No back4menu baked in
Seems a bit sluggish compared to trickdroid, which was already noticibly slower than when I first flashed it months ago
Didn't remove all the bloat I asked it to
Didn't allow my play store apps to auto d/l (weird one - tried two flashes and no dice, tried a different 4.3 rom and all my apps came right back)
That said, it is 4.3 with wifi calling but I'm still rolling back to 4.1.2 for now and sending trickdroids guy 10$ on paypal with a note about wifi calling

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. behold_this's ROM looks promising, but I messaged mike and he said wifi calling "will come" so I think I'm going to hold off for a few more weeks and hopefully he'll have made the ROM by then.
 Good to know im actually looking for a rom with wifi calling since i dont have great coverage where i live. ill check the mentioned roms out, although was really interested on pacman rom
I will be keeping an eye out for this as well. I sent a PM to the developer for AR HD a day or so ago asking, but no response yet.
I'm no developer, but this seems like it would be pretty simple and quick to implement the WiFi calling feature from the stock T-Mobile ROM which came out almost three weeks ago. I'm really surprised it isn't out yet, especially as he seems to know that people are waiting for it. Then again, most of us aren't paying him for his work. I just don't know how much longer to wait... I seem to have terrible service and WiFi all the time.

It's not as easy as you might think. To implement Wi-Fi calling into a rom the base HAS to be the tmobile base. It's not as easy as ripping an apk out.

Just because the 4.3 update has pushed out doesnt mean a dev is using it as the base. Some are, some arent.
