Hello guys, I just wanted to advice everyone to leave your phones alone when they get hot and don't overclock, especially on summers. Undervolt to 806mHz. I have noticed my first dead pixel because I was ignorant of the fact that getting the phone hot may burn the some pixels. So please be careful!

Eh?! How is that possible? I thought pixels die only by heat! What else can cause this? A magnetic field? A drop of dispear?

Everything has a reason to be. There has to be an explanation. I'll do some research, because I don't wanna have some BAM and WE ARE DEAD pixels.
Some pixels are just faulty. I think it's even covered by warranty and you could get a new device or a screen replaced if you're lucky.

Well you could always return to stock and relock it. They usually don't check with Sony if you've unlocked or not. Just tell them it came that way and you've only recently discovered it.
And good luck!

Why is it so strange? Any mechanical thing can get broken, or stuck.. or "just" "run out of power"..
crystals in LCD can get stuck.. also LCD's can get image persistence effect..
in OLED for example blue dies faster than red or green.
Sometime crystals that are stuck can be brought back to life.. same as sometimes image persistence effect can be removed..
On my phone, where is the status bar, when it shows a picture/movie with grey colors i can see a black line, and sometimes (when the phone is heated) i can even see the notifications shadows from status bar (i.e battery, clock etc). But that line is visible only on grey color, in any other color it's invisible. I have this problem since last summer, it was quite annoying at the beginning, but now i'm used to it, and it's not a problem anymore.

1) update the phone
2) rooted the phone
3) kick the **** of the SprintOmaDm service with Titanium Backup.
4) change in the Build.Prop :
smoother scrolling
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=150
Well id say number 3 is your problem.
We told you how to disable sprint activation in the Disable Sprint Activation The Easy Way thread!
The way you've done it through Titanium may be the cause of your lock screen issues, sure I've read in another thread of this issue. Try searching, you will be surprised

Unsure regarding the screen as I play games on the Photon without any issues
If you regret it that much then consider getting rid of it and get something else.
Me personally love this phone and when I tell you i've had around 7 different handsets this year alone, this is the only one I want to keep. I've had the SGSII, HTC Sensation, LG 2X, Desire HD, Atrix etc, etc but this phone is stunning right out the box, speedy, not too much **** on it, has so much potential its unreal.
The days of the Photon are just beginning.

Well the LG 2X has half the available RAM as the Photon, 8GB of storage compared to the Photon.
The SGSII is a great device, very fast, **** loads of ROM's but far too thin for my liking, feels very cheap in the hand, when you go to pick it up off a flat surface I've forgotten how many times I dropped it.
But you need to be happy and the Photon ticks everything for me

You are right... The phone cannot overcharge... but when it becomes warm the problems start...
The moment I use the phone for - let's say 10-15min - it becomes unresponsive. The screen pop-up menus start flashing (appear - disappear) and I just have to switch off the screen and wait 10-15min before I can use it again but not for long...
I haven't searched in any other forum but I read about a guy who had the same problem and he received a new Mini...
So as soon as we are back in Belgium I will change both our Mini's.

This isn't an overcharge problem, from what you've said anyway. If it was an overcharge/overheating problem it would show up as soon as you use the phone?
I had an old LG Chocolate. One of the first heat sensor touch button phones and that had the problem of when the phone got too hot (either sitting in the sun too long or on charge too long in a warm room) it would start jumping around the menus and all that, I couldn't work the phone without cooling the touch buttons down. It happened as soon as I unlocked the phone, sometimes i even think it was trying to do things even when it was locked.
So the fact that it happens 10-15min after stated using, leads me to believe it is something else. Does anyone else agree with me, or am I completely off base??
Cheers,
Evil.
Thank you all...
I think i better consider again to buy the phone....

Can't say that I love to many things aside from family, my girl, and my corvette..... Today I got my Zu and I can add it to the list. This phablet is phenomenal. There really isn't a better word to describe it. I've had all the best phones ever made and this one puts all of them to shame. Sure the camera and speaker aren't anything special but this screen and smooth performance helps you forgive that very quickly. Anyone on the fence about getting one get off that fence and scoop one up. You won't regret it.

It's indeed amazing :good:
Yeah, I usually take my Nexus 4 to work with me, since I'm too busy to actually use my phone at work and so it would be pointless to carry around the XZU, so I frequently have 3-4 day stretches in which I don't use the XZU. Whenever I switch back for school or off days, it's kind of like turning it on for the first time again. The change is so nice.

Congrats. I plan on getting the Z Ultra later this month along with the Sony power case. It'll be replacing my ancient Xperia x10a, and while it will be monsterous in my shirt pocket, it will be glorious to use.
I'll also be picking up a new VAIO Flip 13" model to replace my old Sony Tablet S. Between that and the Z Ultra, my mobile experience should be amazing!
The Z1 got the "Smartphone of the year" award and the Tablet Z got "Tablet of the year" award in Norway yesterday, so Sony is doing something right!

After using it for 3 days, i can say that i have my money well spent.
Pros:
1. Dat screeeeeenn..
2. Wifi range is superb, can go to second floor (where the wifi is on the first) whereas with my previous devices they can't detect it.
3. With its large body, surprising that it still fits into my chest pocket
4. Battery Life is good, even though not as strong as my previous razr maxx but that is expected
5. Can't wait to take a break with KitKat!
Cons:
1. Camera overprocessing.
2. No easy root method for now.. but i have migrated from Titanium Backup into Helium app so no biggie.. Only no mod for me now
O yeah i have some tips for battery life:
1. Don't install google aosp camera with gallery. It will take media scanning twice and preventing Stamina Mode to work
2. Turn off Google+ auto backup, or only allow it to upload while charging
3. Better to full drain the phone once and then charge it while it's off. But after that, please trickle charge it before it reach 50%
4. Don't use the phone while charging. Better to disconnect and then continue after you're done.
Sent from my C6802 using xda app-developers app
This phone is amazing. Just like many of you, I have used a lot of flagship androids - but this baby is special. Phenomenal display, smooth performance, no more messing around with pinch zoom and much less scrolling. Camera could have been better, but you'll get over it in no time. I'll eat my pride and share my darkest secret - I don't finally miss my 'buttery smooth' iphone 3G from 2008

It's not as bad as you think but it is better to not do so. Because if you use it while charging, the high temperature will degrade battery faster. So unless you know that your usage is low and not heavy, better to disconnect it and charge again after the device is cool again.

He asked if it's BAD to use the phone when it's charging, and let's be honest, it's not like you'll kill your battery within a week if you do it. Are you playing Vice City for 5 hours while charging? THAT might be bad in the long run. Checking the weather and FB a couple of times every hour? Not gonna matter.

Actually, there is a simple fix to improve and increase speaker volume.
I use the XZ1 Volume boost, it works wonders.
- Increased internal - external speaker
- Increased headphone volume
- Increased volume call speaker

In my question thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2793532) I got the answer that it doesn't really affect waterproofing because the seal is made over a larger area than the gaps.
The gaps I have are at the top right, bottom left, and the middle of the entire left side (very minimal but noticeable to my very focusing eyes - I regret looking that close to my device)
Thanks for the replys the gap doesn't bother me just worried water would get in and the slight misalignmen of the camera flash doesn't seem to affect anything so I should be good shouldt I?
