Google Wallet - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Is Wallet working for anyone else. If not any time frame?

No, and time frame is whenever it happens with no eta.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2

I saw this yesterday, I have not tried it personally but the OP says is should work on Verizon
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2282892

Actually, given that the VZ model can apparently d/l it straight from the Play Store, the build.prop steps might be omitted. Just flash files, d/l, mod with Xposed, and run.
I'll test it all next week when I get my S4, but I'd welcome someone else checking now.

It says that it will not work with stock odex roms, only deodex.

I saw on a page on that thread where it would work for deodex and odex. Not exactly sure how to though. I just left sprint for Verizon so this is my first time dealing with this wallet issue. I loved using it on my sprint gs3. Would love to use it on my vzw gs4!

Post 21 has the odex package.

I went back and reflashed Beans DEodexed rom just to try this out, and cannot get it to work. Once all the steps are complete i get a message stating
"wallet is unable to proceed until the device is fully initialized. Make sure the device has network access and try rebooting if the problem persists."
I have attempted on both wifi and network. It is fully initialized...and does have network access. SO I think this method is a nogo on Verizon.

What exact steps did you take? Did you change or not change build.prop? Did you install/use the Xposed stuff?
EDIT: did you reset Wallet on your prior device?

It does work...
I tried the steps on the link in deodex rom and google wallet its working on my verizon S4...

Are you using the stock rom? Isn't it deodex?

Steps worked for me

But are you able to get it to work on the stock rom?
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

I saw the otherv thread you were in, but could not reply due to low post count . If you follow those exact instructions it works like a charm with the stock deodexed rom in the development section.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using xda app-developers app

I did get it to work using beans deodexed. I'm going to try reverting to factory rooted odexed rom and see if I can get it to work. Not sure where I should flash the file posted in the tmo thread for odexed in post #21.

This rom works great and its pretty much stock minus bloatware and deodexed.

i didnt read the whole thread but here are the tmobile instructions, i didnt put them together. It works fine on stock deodexed. works like a charm, i just used it.
edit: looks like someone already pointed you to that thread. sorry.
INSTRUCTIONS.. (MUST BE ON A DEOXDED ROM. stock odexed roms will not work with this fix! I am running wicked V2 and it is confirmed working..)
1. Mod build.prop file to sprints..
ro.product.model=SPH-L720
ro.product.name=jfltespr
ro.product.device=jfltespr
( this will allow you to use s-voice without causing any issues unlike using the older galaxy nexus prop edit)
2. download file here
http://db.tt/uu3nkAXE
3. REBOOT into recovery
4. FLASH the file, fix permissions
5. REBOOT
6. download the 5/15 wallet app from the playstore.. open and setup wallet to the point where your funding source is setup and you are ready to roll
7 download and install xposed framework installer
. http://db.tt/hEC5CNzz
8 download and install xposed wallet patch
http://db.tt/NutI92ic
9. Open xposed installer, in framework tab, click update then reboot
10 open xposed installer, under modules check the wallet patcher, reboot
PROFIT.. you can now change your build back to tmobile and wallet will stay working

ahh, i was late, looks like someone already pointed you to that thread. sorry about that.

We're looking to see if someone can modify the same to work on ODEXed/stock ROMs. There's already one example down below but causes bootloop for Verizon devices:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41536300&postcount=21

One thing missing from those instructions is to make sure you have deactivated your previous device. I had set up my nexus 7 and forgot about it...not as convenient as a phone, lol.
I have it all set up and plan to test it later today.

[MOD] Enable all toggles + unlock native Tethering for MK2, MJ7 & ME7 (1/20/14)

I know ME7 users can still use the toggle but people using MJ7 and MK2 can't, so this just gets rid of the subscription checks for all 3 and allows you to activate them from settings menu. For stock ME7, MJ7 and MK2 tw based roms only.
Note: This does not remove the on going wifi notification. This is mainly for people who have issues removing the ongoing wifi notification
1. Back up your rom via recovery. Make a back up of framework-res.apk if you wish
2. Flash in recovery or overwrite stock framework-res.apk in /system/framework with this one (doesn't work with odexed roms)
3. Wipe cache/dalvik in recovery
4. Reboot device.
For ME7 Download here
md5:cfffef0080e6596c3329c38730ecb6ad
Edit: 1/20/2014
Enable all toggles + unlock native Tethering
If you have Safestrap installed and are on a MK2 or MJ7 rom/build you can flash the corresponding zip below and you will unlock native built-in tethering and also get all the toggles including the usually absent Wifi Hotspot widget. Both versions have been tested and confirmed to be work. This solves also enables all the missing toggles, not only the Wifi Hotspot toggle. Toggle issue = solved. If you don't have Safestrap then let me know, I'll write up a script to do the same thing if needed.
Devs/Modders/Themers - You can use my script without my permission and you don't need to give me credit. I don't do this for ego/pride I'm already narcissistic enough as it is.

Would it be possible to combine this with the removal of the ongoing WiFi notification? Since these both modify the framework-res.apk, it seems that they overwrite each other so I can only use one or the other when applied.

Any updates you are working on such as remove wifi notification? Could you possibly add more info to your steps such as location of framework-res.apk and how to back it up / replace it? Think it would help some users (I can figure it out but would be helpful to have it for everyone who reads OP)
Thx

I have a MJ7 build with a MK2 based rom installed (Foxhound). When I flash the MK2 fix in safestrap recovery it indicates that it is actually installing the MJ7 toggle/tether fix, not MK2. When I reboot I am hung up on the Foxhound startup logo. What am I doing wrong?
Also, I get a message that says something like another app is already running must be stopped before another one can be started and returning to %1$s or something close to that.

It's still installing MK2, I just forgot to rename the script. The reason your getting errors is because foxhound doesn't use MK2 vzw files, it's based on a ml6 build I believe, just made to be compatible with safestrap

Hey op, is there any chance of getting a mod that allows you to increase the amount of toggles in the status bar? Like 15 toggle mod? I've been searching all over for that. I'm on Verizon mk2 from jkruse (mdk bootloader if that makes a difference). Stuck with 10 toggles though. Sorry if I missed something obvious, but I can't find anything. Seems like there would be something like this around already. Anyway, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Just push the framework.apk on top of your old one.
As for the MK2 version of this mod... Is the framework.apk edited from a stock rom? And will this work for odexed roms?

just realized i posted this in the original android development thread, oops. mods please feel free to move to appropriate thread.
made a small change in the updater script to wipe cache.
after realizing that all apks and jars on 4.4+ have classes.dex files, even the odexed ones, i edited the updater-script to remove dalvik-cache entries for the vzw odexed files. this *should* be the final release of this mod afaict, at least for this build version.
Flashing now to give this a whirl. thanks
Just the fix I was looking for .... Beautiful

it also replaces the moto setup process with the aosp one, which is only noticeable if doing a factory reset after installing; a side effect of hiding the setup launcher icon.

Can't say enough about how nice this all aspects of this.zip work. I've been running it over a day now and have absolutely no issues! It's so nice to have a tool that removes the VZW BS and enables native tethering all in one package. I hope future development on this package might include a "Return to stock .zip". with 4.4.2 ota in the near future.

Perfect I assume the

dalvik-cache entries will be created on first boot, not the odex files; but they are included in the undo zip.
interestingly, odex files are not needed on 4.4+ as each apk and jar has a classes.dex file. you can safely delete all odex files, though there isn't really anything to gain by doing so unless you want to modify the smali code. also, deleting odex files will probably break ART capability.

Galaxy Mega 6.3 Sprint Version : SPH-L600 Stock firmwares with root: Flashable Zips

I do not own this phone.
This thread will provide custom recovery ( CWM/TWRP ) flashable zip files of the stock frmware without knox software. This way you need not upgrade using OTA and hence will be able to move between stock and custom firmware if need to.
If you use OTA to upgrade to the latest firmware, your bootloader will be upgraded to facilitate knox. Once updated there is no going back. The roms in this thread will help you overcome this issue.
The only prerequisite is that you are not already running a knox enabled bootloader. You can find this out by going into download mode and checking if knox entries are shown in bootloader screen.
You will have the following advantages.
Bootloader is not touched, hence any compatible rom can be flashed, including custom roms
Only Samsung knox files are removed
Root & Busybox
Stock kernel
Deodexed
Zipaligned
Procedure
Download the Odin version of Philz recovery or my custom twrp recovery and flash.
Reboot to recovery first else custom recovery will be replaced by stock recovery.
Flash the ROM zip file
Reboot and Njoy...
As an additional step, you can flash the modem that comes with the ROM. The procedure to flash the modem is given below.
Use Odin v3.04
Untick Autoreboot
Flash modem
Reboot once again into Download Mode using (Vol Down plus Home button combi)
Flash Modem once more
Once done, unplug then reboot device manually.
If this doesn't work, try repeating the flash process again while rebooting manually and with auto-reboot option turned off.
Downloads
All files can be downloaded from my Mega folder. Choose the mega link and select SPH-L600 STOCK FIRMWARE folder. MD5 hash values are available in a separate file inside the folder.

Well now that I'm over being a wise guy, I think what I'm reading is that with this apk you can do outbound calls and texts, just not on LTE. Is that correct? And is the phone apk rom specific? Like so many others, I'm guessing, I'm really itching to ditch the Sprint stock rom. But wait... just this second for the umpteenth time my phone is telling me that I have left the network with roaming turned off (sitting in my living room, smack dab in the middle of an LTE coverage area.) This is killing me!! Haha!!

Yeah that's what I think. I downloaded it the other day so I'll do that this morning. As an aside, I really need to dig in and learn how to do this (cook/build,) but I'm a school teacher with almost no time to devote to my own education in this regard. I have been looking around at some of the guides but there is some much information that I'm not really sure where to start (suggestions?). I tend to be a bit obsessive/compulsive when it comes to technology, so much so that my friends and family often start to wonder "what happened to me." I imagine others can relate. On spring break this week; time to play.
Thank you.

Very funny, Mr.Nair. And I'm an English teacher to boot! I would relish having someone with experience to mentor me. Just to show you how much teachers look forward to their breaks(read mental exhaustion,) I discovered today that after flashing a custom recovery and rooting this little Sprint demon the other day, I had NOT flashed the firmware you uploaded. Can't believe I didn't do that. This came to light after I flashed the CM ROM for I9205 (I know, NOT recommended, but I did it for kicks.) Your CM build installed beautifully, and I was able to connect to WiFi, but of course I didn't have a cell data connection. I flashed the L600 modem in Odin a couple times on top of CM and applied various settings using the phone apk moosiemooses linked and eventually did get a mobile data connection, but I couldn't make it persistent. I wound up restoring the nandroid I made the other day; this is when I discovered that I hadn't flashed the firmware version in your Mega folder. So I did that after lunch today, flashed the modem twice and after a bit of fiddling all seems to be working well. I'm fairly new to this carrier and the network seems a bit finicky, but that's just my opinion. I spent most of the day doing this, and I think I learned something in the process, just not clear about what that is exactly.<g>
Thanks.

FAQ (Read Here Before Asking A Question)
1. This patch should work on most international version of 4.42 TW roms.
2. You can use an aroma installer to install rom. Just flash my patch before reboot. There is no need to flash loki patch after my patch since my patch has loki patch built in it.
3. If you didnt flash patch before you reboot and get unauthorized software found on device warning simply reboot back to recovery and flash my zip or if you didnt flash my zip after you installed rom and rebooted you will be fine you will not brick your phone, just power down and flash or go through setup then reboot and apply patch.
4.MMS Now Works!
5. Yes you can go back to 4.3 roms
6. Roms dont flash bootloaders they have to be flashed with odin.
7. If rom fails to flash in recovery especially philz touch recovery, uncheck the box about allowing old updater script verification.
8. I am not the creator of these roms so I have no control over what features they have or have not. Remember these are International roms for gsm phones so somethings may not work right.
9. Apps are located in two places now the system/app folder and the system/priv-app folder.
10 there is some lag in the contacts apk for now you will have to live with it. I will see if I can do something about that as time permits.
I hope this answers some questions. I dont mind PM's but try to keep your questions in the forum so everyone can input and help find solutions. There are lots of smart people out there with different approaches to problems.

I think most of the International roms have the email hack already? If not I get one worked out. Im in the process of building a rom with the patch included I just put this up to test out and find the bugs!
@jrkruse thank you so much!! Your awesome work continues to make this phone worth having!!

Does the random reboot bug occur in KitKat? I'm tired of my S4 rebooting 30 times daily.

Downloading your patch now. Your a lifesaver if this works. Ive been fighting with this rom for two days. I will report back
Is it worth trying this patch on an at&t 4.4.2 rom? I'm downloading a rom now, just making sure it's worth a shot to try this patch with.

Need i527m testers for 4.4.2 TW ROM base

Hey guys so basically the thread title says it all. I need a few testers who have the Canadian variant sgh-i527m who can test a rom base for me. What I need is confirmation that everything works on the base ie Bluetooth, data, WiFi, NFC,etc. Once deemed a stable base I can work on making the magic happen of adding cool features.
Of course the standard risks apply: you are responsible for anything you flash or that happens as a result. As always please make a nandroid backup before flashing and ensure you are using the latest, stable recovery
At this point the ROM is rooted, deodexed, zipaligned all apks and Knox free

Hello,
I'm testing it on a i9205....
I installed it over a 4.2.2 bootloader as I never installed KK. So it looks like KK is installing over 4.2.2 Mega fire bootloader
.
I'm finishing up to setup all my account and let you know. So far its working well, the first run Wizard even detect my country "France", it did not before in 4.2.
I ll keep you posted but so far looking good.
Thanks
see screenshot attached
Just a small adjustement, on the i9205 the wifi is not turning on... I dont know why, a driver issue maybe. I will try replace wifi firmware and modules if I can.
Also when I go to ->Setting->security it says setting has stopped. then the phone is rebooting

OK thanks for the feedback. If you're still on the ROM can you run a lotcat and try wifi and also go back to settings security. And then send me the logcat. If you send me it with those issues recreated I should be able to see what the problem is

Sorry I cant, I had to go back to Mega Fire rom as I had no Wifi and cannot install Titanium to restore everything (As I cannot access security options) I had to revert to 4.2.2.
I also tried to modified your zip with a i9205 boot.img and all the System files into your zip from another 4.4.2 i9205, and I had the same issue. I'm starting to wonder if I dont have a radio issue compatibilty or my bootloader 4.2 is messing with some feature (like android finding knox is not on the bootloader). If you have any idea, I dont mind trying again but so far I would like to preserve my bootloader as my phone still under warranty.

At this point my best guess is boot loader but who knows. Hopefully I can get more user feedback and i257m feedback most importantly. Thanks for your time

FYI, someone else tried it :

I ve tried another rom 4.4.2 as a zip file and same issues. I revert it back to MF V11X and it works as normal.
I'm wondering if those issues are related to the bootloader (like for Param-Security) phone is looking for knox info and cannot find them.
reply:
Anyway for now my bootloader still in 4.2
I never checked wifi (I barely use wifi as is) System settings kept force closing on me and the ROM overall was a bit laggy (compared to MegaFire - probably not a fair comparison though - lol). My phone did keep rebooting every time I went into certain system settings to make changes (I don't remember which ones at this point). To be honest, I was just trying to see if I could flash it onto my phone. I had no intent to fully test the ROM for stability. Mega's ROMs are rock steady stable so I was just trying that 4.4.2 ROM while waiting for Mega to finish and post MegaKat.

Hi,
I just test the megakat rom from megafire, with the newbootloader and its all working. I can confirm wifi and setting issue were due to the bootloader
You should take a look at megakat op and rom, u will work with a almost bug free rom

i527 boot loader is locked. Just because you put an M at the end doesn't automatically make it unlocked....pssh noobs. ?
edit>>> @scoobthegambler, you are right, I made a mistake, my apologies
@pierrottls31 it's very poor etiquette to post another devs rom in someone else's rom thread. Please help to keep development threads eleventh to the threads they pertain to
Thanks in advance
@GT247 I never posted or mention another developer's rom I merely stated that the i527 had a locked bootloader and the op restated that he was talking about i527m

No it doesnt, but the M does have a recovery and is able to flash any of Sileshnair's roms.
It is not an ATT device.
GT......what are you doing here?

@captemo, I'm watching my friend at work building roms, and hopefully keeping you out of trouble. Don't mess with Apen..lol
btw, I'm sure Mark Bencze will really appreciate if you'd stick around while he works this out.

I did not mean too, I just wanted him to know you can go from more clean room to start than stock... Stock rom is buggy and all... I took the rom from megafire and tweak it my way, this way I dont have to re-correct all the bug.... but sorry if it was mis-understood... I did mention it for reference only.... cheers
