As usual, Verizon likes to remove things that have no effect on themselves or the user whatsoever, effectively removing some of the advertised features from Samsung's international model.
Here are some of the things I have noticed are gone or different:
On-going Wifi notifcation has been added
* Fix - Link
Wi-Fi toggle has been removed
* Fix - Link

* Fix - Same as above for Wifi toggle except enter "AirGesture" instead of "Wifi" in Step 4 of the thread
Smart Pause toggle has been removed
* Fix - Same as above for Wifi toggle except enter "SmartPause" instead of "Wifi" in Step 4 of the thread

If you guys happen to see any other changes, differences, or things that have been added or removed please feel free to comment and I will add to the OP.
Not sure if you want to include it, but they don't offer the 50GB Dropbox promo either. I was annoyed when I found that out.
I don't understand why Verizon does this. Them doing this makes me want to get T-Mobile's Galaxy S4 more and more along with the $30 plan.

I dont think it's right that verizon takes it on their own to think that we dont want all these features and they take it away, come on verizon....
So basically Verizon is acting like Apple and forcing their will on us?
Sent from your mom's house with my rooted S4.
They are the big brother....they can do as they please...like making a 1.9ghz quad core s4 lag lile hell...and use a ton of ram....
I guess if enough of us ***** to Verizon Rep's. ..something may change...at least wifi toggle and no constant wifi notification.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S 4
Dropbox is a great service!
The removal of blocking mode really irks me. If it's anything like the S3, blocking mode is still there but they've removed anyway to access it. Lidroid toggles gave us blocking mode back. Hopefully the same will happen on the S4

Yes. And just as ugly on their network.
I had trouble updating my S Health app when it prompted for update. Maybe due to lack of Samsung Apps store.
Does anyone know how to get this back?
Thanks

The Samsung apps fix link isn't working. I think it is the " at the end. I deleted that and started downloading the .apk.

Welcome to Cognition 777! The idea behind this rom is to unify my rom making efforts into a single rom for the i9100 and the i777 with only minor changes between them to make managing two or three roms take the time of one rom. If I am using the S2 Euro version (well Australian in my case, but anywho, NOT the US variant) will I be OK to move straight across - or should I wait for these 'tweaked' features as my buttons won't function appropriately, and is more suited for people with AT&T variant atm?
Cognition 2 1.5.1 has been a dream-boat thus far, but as a Business phone, want to make the transition as painless as possible (obviously a WIPE is recommended?), so I'll be guided by you.
Cheers!
EDIT: This is obviously KI3/4 too?

Lol, thought about naming the rom Cognition 777.. still might, what do you guys think?!
Oh, DG, any way to make the SMS app black in convo view? I hate having the text box be black and the background white.
Also, can you revert the sound icons back to the Captivate behavior? Because the vibe icon in the status bar is there when Vibration is set to Always, not when the phone is in Vibe mode. And when in silent, it has both no sound icon and vibe icon. Waste of space. Pretty please make one icon for state of phone, no icon for sound and vibe, and a vibe icon for vibe?

First off, thanks for the rom (s)
Cognition has been THE favorite since the start. But enough praise;-)
I'd like to make a small request since you're modding the camera:
1. Please keep the volume shutter button. I cannot live without it.
2. Please consider removing battery limit on the camera, and opening for playing music and using phone at the same time as taking pictures..
For the rest.. Just do your thing man!
I'm exited to try the next version..

I'm looking forward to see this ROM's compatibility with Euro S2 enhanced to full swing!!!
Disclaimer: I do not offer this ROM with any type of warranty. I am not responsible for any bricks, or damage to your phone.
Hello, this is a rom I made for my own use. It is my daily driver, it is made for my use in mind. With that said, I am not putting myself out there as a dev, but instead I see this as trying to share and give back something to this great community.
CapRom Beta Features:
Please read the list below (including post #2) carefully for important ROM information.
Based on T-mobile 1.43, Android 2.3.4
Rooted/busybox/init.d/custom boot and data/app support
Odexed, zipaligned
[*]Sense removed (note: this is not an AOSP rom)
HTC Bloat removed
Some google products removed
[*]Front buttons dimmed to help reduce LCD Bleed
Auto-brightness values tweaked to be a bit more aggressive (Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1488193)
Beats Audio (w/permission and thanks to Zipzishmonger), DSP is also included.
Various build.prop tweaks (source: various xda threads)
GoLauncher EX
ES File Explorer
Battery% Icon (source: UOT kitchen, http://uot.dakra.lt/)
Ad Free, Host file updated
Andrev_OC Daemon included (source: Sybregunne)
Stock sense 3.0 lock screen is included with the shortcuts removed. Caller ID / Wake on incoming call works fine.
Misc. Notes:
* /data will be wiped upon install.
OC Daemon Notes:
Please see the andrev_oc thread to learn more about it.
Andrev_OC Daemon has been cooked into this ROM.
I discourage any overclocking application such as setcpu or system tuner.
Daemon Controller has also been added. Please note this program is a bit buggy. If you do not see your frequencies, or it FC's, simply restart it. Make your changes and hit apply. Your changes will be saved.
Default settings: Device Sleep: 192-192mhz / Device Awake 192-1.56ghz (you can change these using Daemon Controller)
I personally use and recommend the following:
Nandroid backup to be performed
CWM 5.0.2.7 w/full wipe
Latest Faux kernel
If you have any issues with wifi, bt, etc, flash a stock kernel (see below for download).
[*]If you get stuck at a white HTC screen upon 1st boot, restore your nandroid backup, then flash a stock kernel (see below for download).
Known issues:
need to unlock screen to see caller ID. as a work around I suggest go locker.
Thanks:
Dsixda for his kitchen
Xboarder for posting the RUU i used and EKF
Faux, for developing kernels
Sybregunne for andrev_oc
Heyjoe66 for the stock kernel
HTC, for releasing this phone
Google for android

Hi. Double0EK is right. To enable wireless tethering without upsell page, delete the apn then remake it.
Go to settings > wireless and networks > mobile networks > Access Point Names > then click on tmobile data. After you click on it, hit the menu button, then hit delete apn. Hit the menu button again, then hit new apn. Set the name to something like tmobile data. Then change the apn to "epc.tmobile.com" minus the quotation marks. Then click on back, then click on the apn you made. You should be good to go.
I'll look into both these issues.

Reboot your device and spam the power button. This will disable the xposed framework and all the modules. You can then go and change the settings in the module or disable it and reboot.
Hi,
Great idea!
Few things though:
It would be very nice that the things you mention in OP would be realized. I tried this on a GT-I9505 (galaxy mega 6.3) and such phone needs it for the keyboaard only IMHO. Other apps are no problem to have them fullscreen. So maybe:
- on per app basis (where keyboard is an app too)
- masterswitch in notification area or as widget (or any place that can be reached easily to switch keyboard to one side)
Kind regards,
Treare

this module is quite handy and great compared to samsung's own one hand operation.
its a great work.
hope to see many neww things in future :good::good::laugh::laugh:
This is cool.
Did you consider to have function like T2 Ultra's single-handed mode?
(double tap home button to drop everything to the bottom.

Ok, had to update to newest framework but the mod isn't working correctly
Nothing appears, just the title bar as seen on screenshot.
I'm currently running CM-based ROM (kitkat) on my N7100.
Not working on Sprint Note 3 running Sprint S5 ROM
I recently read about the use of RRO theming for the s8, so I took some practice and made this.
This mod basically hides the carrier label (AT&T, Verizon, etc...) from the status bar on the lockscreen and in the notification center (bottom).
You can see in both attached photos there is no carrier in the top left status bar and bottom of notification center.
Apk here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8DTpyUdT0UAeDF5a1E2OE5XVkU
Any thoughts? I'm making more of these mods. Give me ideas ;P
EDIT: I forgot I made another one. Gives you more precise animation scales in developer settings.
Can't add another photo since I already published so here's a Google photos link:

Nice [emoji106][emoji106]

Nice, @Tigerhoods sent me this and is better than what I was currently doing. I just added .27 and .75 animation scales. I like what you have done more. We have both been putting our heads together and see all what other kids we can come up with. I am currently trying to get access for those of us who are carrier decided to remove the ability to display the weather icon on the lockscreen. I can add the access to a different XML, but because the original XML does not show the fragment, I can't currently get it to work. I asked in the Q&A thread if anyone had the the name of the shortcut.
If you want we need to get a telegram group together and see what all we can come up with. I currently have everything I have done on my git.
I made an oem unlock switch show up in a different area hoping to help out with root, but there is more that the Java files do when the switch is turned on than just a simple switch making a system broadcast.

Thanks heaps. Carrier label mod works a charm on international s8+

I can't seem to figure out a way to take a screenshot of the lock screen, but just so you know if your carrier removal overlay is used with pimp's center clock mod the status bar icons (4g, signal, battery) all get super blurry on lockscreen...almost looks like multiple icons all laid over each other but not quite aligned.

Thanks for the report. It could be an issue with the way that pimps mod works making it incompatible with mine. I can look into it.

So I turned my pin/fingerprint lock screen off, switched to none/swipe, then back to pin/fingerprint and for whatever reason that seemed to fix the issue.

I have a dumb question.
I down loaded and installed this. But I don't see an App called Galaxy Carrier Hider. Where does this show up in Settings?
Sorry for the dumb question.

Go to your file explorer and long press this APK and then select details and look at the name. That will be the same name that's in the settings. Are you wanting to delete it or something? It's not going to be an app, it's an overlay.

Is your carrier's name gone from the status bar and the pull-down menu? If so then this overlay is doing its job.:good:

Under Properties, it shows as "Galaxy Carrier Hide". But when I search Settings, it does not seem to show up even after reboot.
Yes, Carrier Name is gone indeed both on the lock screen and status bar
I am running the renovate 4.0 Rom if that matters on a S8+

Then you are good to go since carrier icons are gone. If you're wanting to uninstall it look for com.galaxycarrierhider.

I have sungstratum but no themees installed and I have Custom Navigation Bar but it is turned off
I just uninstalled substratum/Samsung add-on, custom navbar, and anything else that might interfere. Even after I uninstall this app, the quick settings do not reappear
Very nice! Works like a charm.

Hey Comrades,
Just wanted to share this tidbit with all folks concerned, posted on Sammobile's website pertaining to our brethren rocking the carrier-locked handsets, SM,-N981U & SM-N986U respectively (SM-N986U1, NOPE)!
I have included/shared the link as posted via Sammobile's site:
"Sprint, T-Mobile pushing One UI 3.0 update to Galaxy Note 20 owners - SamMobile" https://www.sammobile.com/news/spri...e-ui-3-0-update-to-galaxy-note-20-owners/amp/
G-day, and Safe Journeys to you.
I got it on AT&T on Wednesday, Seems pretty stable nothing bad too report

OK, of that I'm 1 for 3.
Familiar w/goodlock, but that's as far as I go. (I've got some look-ups to do)!

Yeah, I always find the trailing of GoodLock modules support disheartening. I rely on a lot of modifications to get things exactly how I want them...and now I have to live without those mods again until GoodLock catches up...likely just in time for Android 12's release.
That said, I finally took the plunge and installed it last night. I did find one other bug that could trip some folks up: If you had a 3rd party Home app selected before upgrade, you may find that pressing the Back button while in Recents screen (coming to Recents from Home) will bring up One UI Home instead of your chosen 3rd party Home app.
To correct:
goto Settings > Apps > Choose Default Apps
You'll likely see "None" as the Home App default, even if your desired 3rd party Home app is coming up properly when you press...well...the Home button
At any rate, select "One UI Home" as your default Home app temporarily, which will exit settings and take you to One UI Home because...well...reasons
go back to Settings > Apps > Choose Default Apps and select your desired 3rd party Home app once again as your default
Now your proper 3rd party Home app will be presented when pressing the Back button while in Recents screen.
