hello friends,
I'm changing a few things from my rom to design it to my liking. I use V5 simplicity, can anyone help me? I want to change the color to the notifications received in the notifications panel, leave a screenshot of what I mean (marked in red). I would like someone to tell me what is the png to change its color.
Also I would like to change the color of the window menu exits by pressing the lock button, which shows icons: airplane mode, screenshot, reboot, recovery .... I would like to change the white to another color coming out.
Anyone can tell me the path of these two changes I want to change? I'm going crazy and can not find them, anyone can hecharme a hand? thank you!
Questions goes to the Q&A. Putting [Q] in front of the thread doesn't change it. Next time post it there.
Edit: Oh, and we have this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2089279&highlight=cannot+flash that helps cleaning the general thread.

I have a question:
I'm trying to learn how to make a transparent status bar background on the pull down notification bar (not where the clock is shown but where your notifications come up) I want to make one with a solid image on the corner I've read about 9.pngs over and over and over again but maybe if someone is willing to spend a few days going back and forth on this topic it would be much easier as a group.
I basically want to make a semi-transparent black pull down background with an image of a skull on the corner in red. I know I have to modify the status_bar_background.9.png but here are the following questions I have:
The image is super slim, what are the dimensions of the actual background? Area in pixels.
After modifying and creating my own background (in photoshop) what steps do I need to make sure the picture will fit perfectly on the pull down menu?
Using draw9patch what are the requirements on each field needed to make sure the background will fit?
I want to thank everyone who is willing to help me in advance because I'm sure this will probably take some time to learn. Any tutorials and links would be perfect.

First open up the img you want in Photoshop. Open up the original status 9.PNG.
Make the img you want to layer by double clicking the tab. Bottom right. It should say background.( in photoshop)
Now cut the img and paste in the original status bar. Now resize the img and make the picture you want to same size as original pic.
Now if you see bottom right you will see that you have two layer.( the original, and the picture u just resized)
Click the original img and delete it.
Now bottom right above the layer tabs there is opacitiy.
It should say 100%. Turn down the opacitiy of the picture you resists. Save it. Your done.
I'm assuming you have some knowledge in Photoshop. If you don't, and stuck pm me.I will assist you.
is this my final result
Ok so I duplicated the background to get the transparent black and a solid skull but I'm not sure if this is what you meant let me know if I'm wrong check the images below any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Can't see well on my phone but it seems about right. Just make sure to save it as PNG.
Hit me up on gtalk if you still run into issues.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Just flashed my theme but the image still shows the original, hmmm...
any suggestions on what I did wrong?
i rooted my note and installed saurom custom rom, and i love it. there's just one problem...
i'm trying to find out how to change the background of my notification area with this rom. i love the rom, but can't read news flashes when it's black text on the dark background of the notification area.
i've read the forums looking for answers, and tried using ninjamorph to modify the png's in the framework-res, but they didn't seem to take with this rom. after rebooting the phone, it still looks the same.
any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
hey everyone...
figured out how to edit the notification area.
used ninjamorph to edit system/framework/framework-res.apk
once this was opened, i found the two images i needed to edit in res/drawable-xhdpi
the entries were:
status_bar_item_app_background_normal.9.png
status_bar_item_background_normal.9.png
long press on each of these and choose edit. pick a high contrast color so that white and black text can be easily read. (i chose a bright blue)
thanks for all the help...
Hi guys.
I'm working on my Theme called Superwolf_Style for Goatrip ROM 4.5.4 in the moment.
It's nearly finished, but I have one big problem.
I've changed the input buttons to a deep glossy blue and when pressed a lighter glossy blue.
Now we can't find every XML-files where the code for textcolor is defined.
We could only change some button textcolors, there are the buttons for PIN-input and some buttons for example in the settings (USB-connection). These colors we where able to change unpressed white and pressed black.
But now is the problem when I open for example ES explorer or other apps, there are coming up the same blue themed buttons from my theme, but with a wrong textcolor (black/black).
Therefore I have to find the XML where I can change the black color for unpressed button, because it's difficult to read.
Has anybody an idea where I can find this?
No problem, I can wait.
Please give me a hint where I can find textcolors in XML's of framework-res.apk when someone finds time for it.
Or is there another XML in another APK perhaps?
Bumping in a short time space is against the rules .
jje
Thanks for NO help.
I've changed everything now in another way.
If anyone reads this you can close this thread or not, it's your decision.
Hey,
I want to theme the Stock android keyboard (4.0 and 4.1 which is.. at least of the theming and images and colors and so on.. the same).
I ahve done everything but one thing.
I want to make it completely black and i have succeeded so far.
But i cant find the file that gives the color for the background of the suggestion field (where the suggested words are shown in). That field is still grey....
Does anyone know, in which file that color is given?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT:
// NEVERMIND... found it.. it´s just another 9.png ...
I must have been blind..
