For about 5 months i´ve got omega jelly bean v40, than i want to check new 4.2.2 and didnt love it so i want to bring back omega and there i got this problem than i flashed stock several times with same results!

but you said it happened after rooting, and now you're saying it happened after flashing omega

No one can help unless you give accurate information. Start from the top. List every step you took and every file you used to get from a working state to the broken state you're in now
Tell us what rom you were on when working and if rooted. Whole thread is confusing

My mistake, so:
1. My phone was rooted long time ago
2. I use omega jelly bean v40 from begining, i tryed others but always returned on omega with no problem
3 . this time I started with flashing JB 4.2.2 official from sammobile, and i done it normaly
4. i wanted still to return on omega like many times so far, and i just flashed omega, and on screen startup when there is chosing language and country i noticed my touch screen dont work
5. than i tryed to flash stock ics and everything was ok but same problem touch screen wont work
6. I tryed several time with same results
7. man who fix phones told me that i need to replace touch and screen, it will make burn hole in my pocket :crying:

[Q] Check For Update issue after root

hello all,
i have followed entropy512's thread here to get my at&t samsung galaxy s2 rooted with stock settings...i then wanted clockworkmod recovery so i went to this and followed directions to get everything installed...everything was ok and working until a few weeks ago when the 'Check Update' option under Setting stopped working...
basically what happens is when i goto Settings-> Software Update->Check for updates->Hit OK (Check the AT&T server for new software update?) a dialog comes up that says 'Checking for software updates...' and nothing happens...i have left the phone over night with device management app checking for software updates... when this used to work, it took less than 1 minute to check...
finally, the only way for me to stop this is to go and force stop Device Manager under Applications->All, so before i restore the phone to factory, i was wondering if anyone knows what might be the issue here?
Thanks,
FI

Being rooted you shouldn't even worry about updates, if you had actually searched you would have seen that

OTA updates require factory recovery. I'm a bit hazy on the details but I believe CWM, in short, replaces that.
It might also be because you either turned off/uninstalled or inadvertently removed factory bloatware.

This. Amongst other things. If u insist on trying to eventually upgrade to whatever crap gets pushed out to us yer best bet is to do a full wipe to completely stock firmware.

once again, the issue is not weather i should worry about updates or not nor did i search for if i should worry about updates...this option was working and something happened that caused it to stop working...and my searches i did was around getting device management to connect to the dm server (which is where the 'Checking for update' got stuck)

both of you seem to be spot on...i didnt realize that removing bloatware which was marked as 'ok to remove' on the document of things to remove safely could have been the issue...initially i had frozen them using titanium...neway i restored the phone using the CWM backup i had and the option started working like expected...thanks for the input

Do you recall all the issues with UCKK6 Gingerbread? That was an AT&T release. The devs had to tear it apart to debug and try to fix it. Any build will have bugs in it. But generally, custom firmwares will have fewer bugs than AT&T firmware.

if my research that i conducted a while ago is right, then basically samsung has implemented a flash counter which increments each time you flash a custom, non-stock rom...it might also be applied to non-stock kernels/firmwares as well (im not too sure)...so to prevent the flash counter from ever incrementing, ill need to put the phone in download mode using the jig and continue from there...

This is wrong. It is only incremented when you use ODIN to flash nonstock items. CWM has no bearing on flash counters.

You have some bad information...but I have some good news for you.
The flash counter only counts the number of times you've flashed a custom kernel in download mode via Odin. Using CWM to flash anything can't touch the flash counter. Same goes for Mobile Odin. I've been rooted and flashing for months, I don't have a jig, and my counter is still at zero.

Any GB issues only surfaced if you updated to 2.3.6. 2.3.4 for a "stock" firmware was pretty awesome. I'm on the latest ICS leak from ATT (LD4) and aside from the emmc bug (I'm using a safe kernel so I don't have it) IMHO its more complete then CM9 was. I stopped using CM9 at the end of May and don't miss it at all now.

I reccomend roms that use i9100 bases as they are usually better, roms like phonebricker, and shostock2 are good, my favorite touchwiz based rom though is serendipity 9. But thats my experiences so try them for yourself (i use aokp as my daily though.)

My phone is lagging and dying

Hello,
I have this phone for about 6 months and its awesome, recently, it started really lagging a lot. After getting fed up, I did a system reset and wiped out everything. The phone stopped lagging and it returned to its normal state. A few days after this, the lagging started again and some time the phone will completely black out (happened 2 times till now). The battery will be full but for some unknown reason the phone will completely turn off and the only way to "fix" it is by a battery plug.
I'm still on stock and it's not even rooted.
Any idea what's wrong or how to fix this or at least improve it a little?

any clues how to improve the performance ?
hi man
when you have, ramdon or not, lagging or FC issues, I really think first ... hardware or software ... (when I can´t find the problem source .. like a recent app installed) ...
then I do this steps (not detailed):
1 - before do a backup user apps (titanium backup, rom toolbox, go backup, wherever ...)
2 - to exclude this doubt ... hard or soft ... stock flash fw ... no custom or root (or use a stocked pre rooted rom) .. just to test for a 1 or 2 days...
2 - eliminating hard problems
3 - flash the favorite rom
(custom or stock - I really like custom ROMs ... more power .., more performance ... more control ... there is the problem with samsung warranty - who cares ... LOL)
4 - full wipe ... "zero old garbages" ... reset to factory default ... internal format ... etc ...
5 - reinstall the apps from backup, just apks ... test it
6 - verifying that all right, do recover your data apks ... etc ... test it
7 - and ... voilà ...
well, you will try and will have a hard job ... but you will run ... you will work ... you will research ... you will find in the end of rainbow your own pot of gold ...
best regards
good luck

That wasn't really my point. There are 2 fixes. The first in earlier 4.1.2 builds caused freezes, lags and reboots. The second much less so in newer 4.1.2 builds. You have the first fix

Okay, so basically this problem first occurred a few days ago. Whenever I open my camera app it says error. I have this on several ROMs. Right now I'm on Epsilon Project and I got the problem once again.
Maybe the solution is to go back to stock and then flash ROMs again.. I'd be very pleased if someone can help me out.

I have problems flashing Roms I dont know what could be the reason. Couple days ago my SD card died I bought a new one I tried to flash the new version of Tweaked I forgot to made a back up and for some reason my phone will get stuck on the "Galaxy note 2" screen or return to the TWRP menu I tried to flash at least 5 different roms and same results the only one It was able to boot was Clean rom 3.1. I updated TWRP to the latest version and still having the same issues if any one can tell me what to do I will appreciate it

I'm actually having a similar, if more limited, problem. I recently tried flashing P.A.C. rom onto my Note 2, but it would just hang on the galaxy note 2 screen. I left it for more than 10 minutes without change. However, after that I tried flashing Cyanogen; which worked just fine.
I'd greatly appreciate any tips on how to figure out what's going wrong.

And now it works.
So, I seem to actually have things working now and I figured I should give a quick update.
Before, I was using a nightly of P.A.C. rom, because I didn't see anything more stable at the time. Now I've switched to a milestone rom and it boots just fine. At this point, I think I'd pin the blame on a glitch the rom I was trying to flash; given the fact that Cyanogen and the current iteration work fine

s9+ International - How to Fix SIM Network PIN Blocked/Enter SIM Network PUK

Folks,
I need help in a big way. I rooted my s9+ International several months ago and had the Renovate Ice Rom on it. It was working fine but I wanted to try out a different rom. The title of my post says it all. Since loading the other rom I have not been able to get it to recognize my T-Mo sim card (tried a new one also) to make/receive calls or texts. I can access the internet just fine. I've done everything that I could think of from doing a factory reset several times to flashing the original stock rom several times, trying 2 internet services in an attempt to "unlock" it. T-Mo is obviously no help and even after flashing the stock rom twice, I sent it to Samsung Singapore thinking that they could help but they want to charge $400 to put in a new motherboard which I declined. It's on it's way back to me.
Any and all suggestions will be greatly welcomed as I've reverted to using my LG V20 for the time being. I paid $1,000 for the s9+! This is the 1st time in years of flashing rom's that I've had this issue and may never flash another rom again due to this.
Help......please.

I looked through his entire thread, even saw some of your postings and couldn't find any mention of my issue. Mind pointing me to the exact place in his tread? Btw, I had his software on my phone prior to this coming up and it worked perfectly.
I'd appreciate it.
Flash the devbase rom. You most likely flashed the detonator mod and that can mess with returning to stock. Also follow the advice others gave and look in tek's thread. Easy solution for me when this happened was to clean flash devbase and go from there.

I'm currently on the stock rom after 2 factory resets then flashing the stock rom twice. I did have tek's mod on it "prior" to the above. Wouldn't all of the above have wiped his mod off the phone completely leaving nothing to uninstall?
I've done nothing to it since all of the above so supposedly it's a clean phone at this point. So based on that info., what would you suggest?
AND, thank you for the response as perhaps you and ddloco are on the right track....

Did my response make sense? Wouldn't all of the wiping have gotten rid of tek's mod?

Wiping doesn't eliminate it. You have to properly restore or flash with a rom that overwrites the mod.

Are you saying that I should root again and flash either a stock or another rom and that overwrites/deletes his mod? And doing so "may" fix that issue?

Flashing devbase rom has fixed it for me previously. After you flash it make a nandroid and save it in a safe place.

By devbase you mean any rom other than a stock one right? And thanks for your time as well in helping me with this.

The rom by alexandr in this forum. Install twrp and flash his rom. Boot up and hopefully your phone works. I ran into a similar problem right after I got my S9+.

As you're vouching for his rom, I'll root and install twrp again and flash his rom. Did you flash tek's mod afterwards as well if you're still on T-Mobile?
I'll get my phone back from Samsung Singapore this week and give it a shot. If it works, how do I get a "donation" to you?
Either way, thanks again for the help.
I can vouch for his rom cause I've run every one of them. If your getting it back from Samsung see if it works fine first. I don't need any donations. Give it to a charity of your choosing if you want. Yes I'm running teks mod on TMobile now. Having volte is a godsend on TMobile as I get to many dropped calls on 2g and hspa.

Samsung told me that they would have to charge me $400 to replace the motherboard (yes you read that right) as a fix which I obviously declined. As soon as it's back, I'll try starting from scratch again via rooting, etc. as you've confirmed about. And I'll let you know 1 way or the other as to the outcome.
Your time is definitely appreciated.... Sabresfan.
