HBOOT after root and S-Off

Should hboot be updated to the newest version after s-off? Are there any downsides? Will it affect s-off or anything down the road?
I am currently on 1.12.

You will maintain soff but you don't need to update through ruu or ota to have the latest firmware update. Just grab the firmware zip from development and flash it to get the latest updates

The only way to change your HBoot is with S-off, and that is not available until this moment.

is there a way to reinstall rom cook without lowering HBOOT not?
You will have to flash the stock ROM, kernel and recovery manually. You can find that in the android development forum

What do you mean? You can get the RUU for 1.40 directly off of HTC's website or on this site.

not up yet but it would be under "News & Dowbloads" then at the bottom under "Updates"
This is great news. Nice to see T-mobile listening to it's customers and providing a quick-fix for us.
They've been getting better and better over the years, in pretty much every way.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to flash just the radio if you have s-off.
fastboot flash radio radio.img
Although I believe that it is "safer" to flash the entire firmware in RUU mode though.

This Was My Question Exactly... We Don't Really Need All the Firmware and Software Enhancements Since Most Of Us Run ARHD Or Some Other AOSP Rom. I See the Unlocked HTC One Development Section Has a Radio Thread with Instructions and Etc But Not Our Beloved T-Mobile Child lol
I Did S-Off and Did the Bootloader Unlock Via HTC but Never Changed My CID to Use International RUU'S or Make Mine a Google Edition As On T-Mobile Those Modifications Don't Play Nice With Some Of Our High Speed Bands.
If Anyone Knows How to Extract and Apply the Radio Update Please Let Us Minions Know... Thanks In Advance

Thank you for your response. I'm curious why it would be safer to flash the entire ruu though. I'm already on 2.24.401.1 and would prefer not flash the entire ruu when all I want is the radio.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Simple once we have the radio.img just fastboot flash radio radio.img from terminal.

Patiently waiting for update...
Tmobile be trolling us. Usually there's at least a handful of peoe that post they got it or post in the q&a asking if they are getting the 4.2.2 update or whatever. I think they announced it and won't be releasing it till midnight as to not bog the servers.....yeah ....that's sounds plasuable. ..
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
I've been running 4.2.2 (Insertcoin) with the latest international firmware (s-off/supercid) but with t-mobile's radio without problems. Don't see why using just the latest radio would cause any problems.

You dont need to lock the bootloader, just flash the RUU, your device will remain s-off after reflash.
And it's not an Problem to have S-ON? Or will the Evo 3D gain S-OFF after using the RUU?
Thx in Advance

you can flash the ruu if you are s-on or s-off it doesnt matter,
the phone will not gain s-off or lock it self if is already unlocked by flashing a ruu.
Ok we ran the RUU in Fastboot USB Mode.
Now we got the Error 155.
There is standing that we need the right Rom Update Utility Programm
But the RUU is for the 3.28.401.1 Version and the Phone is 3.28.401.1 .
Can you give us a Link for the right RUU?
BTW: The Evo 3D is the GSM Version and it's unlocked.

If you're s off you don't need to relock, you can run ruu through bootloader
If you're s on, you have to relock and you cannot run through bootloader.

[Q] A Small Clarification

Hey guys
I am on 4.1.1 and sense 4+ on AT&T version.
I recently unlocked my bootloader and got root.
To upgrade to 4.2.2 and sense 5, can i follow these manual update instructions?
