Stock Camera Not Very Good - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I did a comparison with the stock camera vs. Pro Capture. Just by looking at these two, you will see the one taken with the stock camera is not clear and out of focus compared to the one with Pro Capture.
I am kind of disappointed in the stock camera as I can't seem to take pictures that are in focus.

[Q] Camera improvement. How to make still, sharp photos?

Hi!
I noticed that you must hold RAZR really firmly, nearly rock solid to take sharp photo. If your hand tremble a bit, you going get blury photo.
I think that is software issue. Like tooking picture to slow or something.
Is there any way to improve it (MOD or App)?
I won't buy stand for RAZR to take sharp pics.
You'll need a faster shutter speed, the camera defaults to a low shutter speed to keep the ISO down (increasing the ISO increases the noise in the picture).
Sadly, I haven't found any apps that can control the shutter speed yet. Your chances are better with a lot of light, though!
It's not satisfiying for me. Tell me... There are chances to improve it in future, or camera hardware isn't good?
I use Camera Zoom FX instead of the camera. It's got an option for stabilizing the camera while taking the shot. Plus, I feel like the picture quality sounds better compared to the ones taken by the stock camera application.
Give it a try.
Okay. Thanks.
I'll check it out

Been using Camera Zoom FX too. Great replacement for stock camera so far, but in terms of Video capture, I would suggest for the default app in order to use HD capture..

Wide camera and selfie camera has fixed focus

I got my G8X yesterday. Overall it is a great phone. One thing I noted was only standard camera can do autofocus, while wide and selfie camera doesn't. For example, using selfie camera, if I put the phone at the distance I would normally use, I got a blurry image because it does not focus. You can tap the screen, all you get is adjusting exposure. You dont get focus sound. This is not a deal breaker for me. But just would like to mention to you guys.

Question Camera quality?

How is the camera quality? Im coming from S22u
Battery is ok. Zoom definetly not the camera to shine. Ultrawide and standard lens are very good. However, coming from an S22u you might have a downgrade..
Main camera captures a lot of details and offers a very good (and bright) night mode. Ultrawide and tele are "ok cameras". They can take good pictures in some conditions but don't expect much, they are not in S22u or i13 Pro territory. You'll notice too that the default camera app tends to oversaturate colors. Sometimes overly So. I got Gcam for that reason. The front cameras for selfies are also ok cameras. In poor light they are almost unusable for me. I recommend using the main camera for selfies. Find N is a great phone but the cameras are not the highlight.
Cameras on this Oppo are very good. Samsung S22 Ultra is plagued with horrible shutter lag nobody talks about. Not anymore since I upgraded to Oppo find N. And here you have proper 50mm portrait focal length unlike 75 (3x) they now put in every flag****.

Question Anyones s23 ultra selfie camera make a click/pop sound when closing/swiching out of it?

When I am in the selfie camera and i open the gallery preview on the bottom left or close the camera app i hear this click sound coming from the front facing selfie camera. Also when i look super closely after switching or closing the app, i can see the selfie camera move backwards kinda.
Im aware of the rear cameras having OIS so it moves around and makes some sound but this seems to be coming from the front facing camera. I never switched to the back cameras so they never activated.
Can you guys with the 23 ultra test this and see if you have it too, im not sure if its normal behavior.

The Front Facing Camera have auto focus so there is a lens that moves forward and backward , and may be thy added OIS secretly like apple did with IP14PM

Of course the camera has OIS... It's a flagship. It would be basically criminal for it NOT to have optical image stabilization. Also, the iPhone Pro Max series has had OIS since at least the 12 Pro Max (in fact Apple claimed it had dual optical image stabilization, meaning the telephoto had it as well). Not having OIS means blurry images in anything less than the utmost stable of hands when taking a photo and it's why I hated my OnePlus 9 and wished I bought the 9 Pro even though I didn't want the curved screen. Were you thinking of some other feature?

Question What's your take on the selfie camera?

Noticed very poor quality of selfie camera specially on FB Messenger. This is the most common messaging app used in our region and my old s21u takes better selfie camera quality when video calling than s23u. The detail is so soft. And the white balance is too dull.
Maybe the app is still not updated for s23u's selfie camera. But it feels like FB Messenger right now shows the raw capability of the selfie camera without software tweaks yet. Not a good impression coming from a flagship device.
Anyone noticed this? What's your take on this?
Use stock camera. That's my take. How many selfies are you sending?
Nah FB Messenger camera is generally terrible but in S23U it is worse than S21U. I do use the stock camera when sending selfies. But during video call, the quality is unbearable. I hope my theory that FB hasn't updated their app to support S23U is right
