[Q] live stream from android (UPNP / DLNA)

Hi
Is there an application that can stream the sound sent to speaker or headphones to UPNP or DLNA compatible devices?
The idea is to stream what is playing in the android device to a device like Sonos
Thanks
A device like Sonos or a real Sonos? If its a Sonos, just download their app. Otherwise, just search the market, I believe there are some apps which do this. Some HTC and Samsung models even have their own app to do this
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
It's a sonos system but the solution could apply to any DLNA/UPnP renderer.
Sonos supports some streaming providers like spotify and supports playing music from a media or NAS server.
The issue arrives when using some streaming providers that are not supported by sonos (like a provider in Denmark called TDC Play) or that cannot send the sound via DLNA/UPnp (play to) . So the solution is then for sonos to support this provider or in case this is not possible to make the android system streaming what is being played through the speaker or headphones.
I'm searching the net for some time and so far could not find any app capable of doing this. There are apps that can stream music, video and pics stored in the android device but not streaming what is being played through the speaker or headphones.
Cheers

Sonos controller has this functionality now to play songs from your android device directly. Look for "This mobile device". Just get a huge sdcard and put your fav songs there. It would work for the most part.
Android controller apps that support UPnP server streaming to Sonos renderers
I have been able to use the android apps BubbleUPnP and Belkin MediaPlay (was Twonky Beam) to connect to my TomatoUSB router running its DLNA server and send the mp3 tracks on the flash drive on the router to my Sonos speakers as the DLNA renderer.
Most other android UPnP apps I tested either did not find the Sonos as a renderer or were not capable of playing music to a remote renderer at all.
I don't know if there is any open source code to help one to do this, though one of the apps (SlickUPnP) I tested was open source, but did not support remote renderers at all.
Could you find a solution?
Hi mtsales,
Could you find any app which can send the system audio to sonos speakers over upnp/dlna?

DLNA default app incompatible with MiniDLNA server

Does anyone knows how to play Divx/Xvid videos trought DLNA default app ?
i have an home server (debian Wheezy) that offers some services.
I have MiniDLNA .24 Daemon on it, that permits my Samsung TV to play videos trought DLNA service.
I had an i9000 by Samsung that could also play videos or music trought DLNA.
Now with Xperia S i have a DLNA app by default (connected devices), with this app i can browse my DLNA resources but once i try to view a resource (jpg, mp3, avi or mkv) i always get an "Unrecognized Format" error...
why ?
is there a better DLNA browsing APP ?
i found BSPlayer, with that i can browse my SMB share on the server and play the media, but it's NOT DLNA... it uses SMB shares, that i would like to switch off sice i didn't have Windows machines at home...
Neither I could play videos and music from my synology NAS, but I could with BubbleUPnP...
It seems the default DLNA app does not recognise any alternative players on the phone.
I installed moboplayer app (for Divx/...) and UPnPlay app. UPnP works similar to the default DLNA app, but when you select a Divx video it allows you to choose where to play it, for example using moboplayer.
You can even push the video to a DLNA player, like WD live TV or DLNA compatible TV.

Thanks, i got mad trying to define a working DLNA profile with serviio instead of MiniDlna for this phone, but it seems like the default player only work with MP2 streams (DVD format) even the x264 didn't work... it's really bad...
i will try UPnPlay, and if it works i will throw away serviio and restore MiniDlna wich is better for my Samsung TV and my sanity
Try 'VPLAYER'.....
I use mediaHouse as "browser" instead, and Vplayer to play the movies...

[Q] Streaming Android to Android?

Is there any Apps to stream the picture in decent quality from one Android to another? Because I was thinking about getting Allshare Cast dongle but for the same price I can get one of those Android media players, and if I can stream the picture to that it's gonna be even better.
Install mx player and bubbleupnp on the target and install bubbleupnp on the controlling phone/phone.

Having a panasonic top notch smart tv, I am also wondering how to do this. Would suck if it only worked on samsung devices which I am starting to wonder
You might have to change some settings but i can access networked dlna devices just from the stock gallery app. I get a separate album for each device...

I have LG3d TV.
1. playing video on the LGTV using allshare play on GSIII was a no problem
2. MEDIA players servers to play on LGTV were also no problem
but playing MEDIA player SERVERS to play on my Mobile device ( GSIII), I wonder how?..
I always use bsplayer for streaming movies from my hd to phone.

Is your hd frm other device external to your mobile phone?

Update: its just as simple as it is..
Requirements:
1. Wireless network
2. Media Servers (I use nero Media Home or Plex Media Server)
3. Wireless/Mobile Device smart phone (GSIII) or Smart TV (LG LW5700).
1. Open and start Stream Media Server
2. Import Videos SD or HD
3. Open Default Video Player of SIII then
4. tick scan for nearby devices
5. Wait till scan finishes (processing...)
6. Tick the movie you want to play
That's all Thank you..
additional note: in my experience GSIII is having trouble to scan the videos on the media server at first
then found them after during several scanning tries but once it loaded the video you can watch them with ease.
I dont know if it was a setting on my router or the media server thats making it hard to scan the videos.
if there are other methods it would be glad to share your inputs.

Upnp/dlna Android app capable of streaming mkv

Hi all, would of put this in android general but can't seem to see it :-\
Anyway, I'm looking for the above, a uonp/dlna compatible app that is capable of streaming mkvs to a ps3.i can play them on my phone via mx player and the like but when it comes to streaming it fails, unsupported or corrupted data shows in the ps3 whenni know for a fact it can stream Mkvs. I have tried airsyncs airplay option, skifta and joses media server and none seem to work, anyone any ideas or other options I can try?
I'm running ParanoidAndroid and Siyah/twrp if that's any help.
Thanks in advance
And mods if there is a general android section and I've missed it feel free to move this

hey had this problem a while back, after a lot of experimenting with different apps, it turns out none of the apps could successfully "beam" a mkv file, even if both the phone and xbox can support the file.
The workaround that i finally got to was to host a media server from the phone, and access the mkv file via the server. APP: Pixel-DMS.
Works great on my xbox !! should work on the ps3 as well
BubbleUPnP might.

Have you tried this ArkMC DLNA UPnP Media Center app.It really helps me a lot Because it allows us to easily access, stream, share, manage and enjoy multimedia content, such as pictures, music and videos throughout myhome network.Give it a try. Here is the Playstore
Im looking for something that works the opposite actually, Does anyone know of an app that will allow streaming from a pc to my galaxys3?
I used to use allshare when i was running official samsung rom, but now i use Paranoid android and unfortunately cannot use it anymore.
I use a program called ps3 media server, which allows any content even MKV files to be streamed, ps3 media server is veiwable on ps3, xbox 360 and i could see it and use it on allshare.
now all i need is an app to allow me to pick up this media server on my paranoid setup.
any suggestions? thanks. :fingers-crossed:
I use PS3MediaServer in conjunction with Serviio to steam to my Xbox and phone.
1. Download PS3MS and Serviio on PC
2. Stream to gaming console. For streaming to android, download Skifta or ServiGo on Play. You can manage your Serviio console from your droid using ServiiDroid.
MKV works flawlessly.

iMedia Share can do it. Also stock samsung video player can do it too.

My home environment is:
Laptop - with Windows Media Player and Foobar2000 as servers
Tablet (galaxy tab) - with ArkMC as controller, server and player.
Samsung TV (as player and renderer)
I had an issue - I was not able to "Play-to" and to share MKV files!
I have tried just siple renaming MKV to AVI, after this trick it was possible to use "Play-to" to send file to my TV. And it played back well.
Maybe this would work for you.

ArkMC can use 3rd party players. I use Mobo Player and MX Player. So it supports MKV formats to. And ArkMC server can share MKV files to.
Plex media server

No, it can´t. It can play avi but not mkv, 3gp or flv.
I am still lookin for solution to stream mkv files via Android to PS3.
I installed Bubble UPnP - PS3 can see it, but everytime I want to go to some videos, pictures or music, PS3 is giving 2101 DLNA Error (can´t even see the list of my multimedia)
PS3 is on the newest offcial ROM and router is D´Link Dir-600 - if that´s matter.
Any ideas?

PS3 is not able to play MKV natively without transcoding. You must use a transcoding server like PS3 Media Server, Serviio, etc.
Odp: Upnp/dlna Android app capable of streaming mkv
Yes i know, i am using media serwer on my laptop and i stream mkv files, however when i stream movies, my laptop is over heating and shut down (is hot as hell) after an hour or so. Laptop is dual core 1.6 and the thermal paste on cpu is probably out. So i wanted to stream those movies via note 2. I thought there was an application with internal transcoding possibility like it's in media share on pc. So is it possible or not?
Sent with GT-N7100 via Tapatalk 2
Did anyone have a fix for this? The Note 2 ought to be able to do this.
Wondering if anyone found a way to transcode mkvs from a phone to be played on a ps3.
I'm yet to find one to be honest, I think plex did work but no longer seems to for whatever reason

I would suggest you ArkMC. It streams media files not only locally on your device, but also from your Smartphone to HD TV, MAC, PC, AllShare TV, Xbox360, PS3 or any other DLNA/UPnP devices. Love it!

I am using ArkMC. too. What I really like is that it supports many formats of video files.
Also the feature that I use the most is YouTube integration. You can use your phone as a controller and watch videos on a big screen:good:
I have bubble full version I downloaded arkmc which ultimately uses bubble what my question is how to view streaming videos on the P's3 because it recognizes bubble as a media server and only allows me to browse to my files rather then stream them
