Can anyone help me via Teamviwer to root this?
I am not being able to obtain an host ip

Is JB 4.1.2 supposed to be better or something?
I have been avoiding the constant incesant prompt to install the new update 4.1.2 as I did not know what it had to offer.
IMO, these phones are running on what now are obsolete, outdated hardware. they're meant to be ran by bigger processors & more ram. case & point - to ask em to run the new stuff, one could expect them to run slower.
So I accidently hit "install" about a month ago. My google search takes 10 seconds to upload. so does my text and my maps. I'm not fond of it one bit.
Thats my experience. is this supposed to be a better version than ICS? It seemed like ICS ran a whole lot smoother on the razr. any opinions?
thanks

I've tried several methods to root my phone and I just want to make sure, before I try this one, that it will work with my phone.

Hi,
I mostly was active on Desire HD, Galaxy S and HD2 threads so far.
I just got a Razr few days ago and been reading and searching but cannot find way to root it.
It is XT910K model, from South Korea, running ICS 4.0.4., system version 67.42.46.xt910k.kt.en.kr with firmware configuration gas_asia_spydericskt_p009, build number 6.74-27_sa-46.
Does anyone knows how to root this version of the Razr?
Thanks.

I already rooted my phone with this method, but it is redundant to run a linux virtual machine on a Linux system.

corrupt files
did run the setup. but wnt in to a loop.. corrupt file error. running 4.1.2---124.14.xt910.retail.en.eu

For those who want to remove the superuser in Chinese, just flash the superuser from Chainfire with recovery, this will replace the Chinese.

[Q] I need detailed instructions on how to go from my current ROM to the ics leak! :(

I know this may sound ridiculous, but I'm unsure how I go about switching from my current ROM, eclipse, to ics without any chance of bricking my phone! I would really truly appreciate detailed instructions I'm just afraid of bricking my second razr in 2 months.. Hahah. And ics just seems way too epic to pass up... Help a noobie out!

Thanks for that it helps a bit, but it doesn't tell the proper way to go from your custom ROM to the razr ics ROM.. and it also only has the files for stock and such for different phones.. :/
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
Just download ics rom, and flash it via odin or cwm. Dunno whats the problem.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
I thought I read somewhere u have to side boot it or something whatever that means lol and do u have to wipe everything? I just know u have to do it a different way then how you would normally flash a custom ROM
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
And like I used safeboot to come over from stock, couldn't I just do the whole disable safe mode thing instead of reverting back to stock and ota updating? Or do I do it another way? And if so do I delete safeboot? Idk I'm just scared I'm gonna screw something up hahah (

Oo ya I know I'm trying to flash the new ics leak on the razr but there's a special way to do it you don't flash it the traditional way you have to sideload the ROM in a less traditional matter which is probably the scariest part of it all to me I suppose. I mean I really truly want this ics ROM, but at the same time I would hate to put my phone in danger seeing as how I bricked my other razr not even 2 months ago. I must be traumatized... Hahaha :{

You really need to search and find the information so you can understand what to do if you get in trouble somewhere. You want to put the leaked official ICS on your phone, that is what I am understanding? If you do, this is what you need to do.
http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/1635-successfully-sideloaded-the-ics-leak/
There are two different sites that you will need to get links from. Read this thread and everything about it if you want the official/unofficial leak for ICS.

Never mind I read a little closer and did some more research. So I uninstall safeboot, fastboot, motofail root, voodoo/ROM manager, then flash, get my root back, then reinstall cwm right?

Do as the thread says to do. It can't be any easier than that. If you don't understand the process, don't do it. Why do you keep asking questions when it is completely laid out? I understand you might be a little nervous but the process is easy. I recommend updating the driver just in case as I had issues using the utility until I did. Hope this helps and I am sure if you have fully read that thread, you will be fine.
Ok :s and my drive are up to date just did updates about a week ago. One more question though, do I need any specific files in order to use the utility to get back to .744?
See my questions are becoming more intellectual! Hahahah

Using the utility in that thread will put you on .173. That is what you would want to be on.
Ooh ok I thought I might have had to go to. 744 and then ota to .173 but ya thanks a ton! I'm planning on starting the process pretty soon here when my battery goes up a bit

Read.... the ... threads... all the information is in those linjs users have posted. Read the entire thread, then read it again if you have too. Understand what you are doing before you do it. All your questions are answered there. Again, read the thread.

Agreed that all the info is in the thread, but here :
Based on the fact that you said you were on Eclipse 1.3 prior.
-Backup SMS messages to SD card, backup all apps and data with Titanium Backup, make sure to copy the directory to your SD card (to be safe).
-Fastboot back to .173, root, install voodoo rootkeeper, DO NOT install either safestrap or bootstrap with the Batman utility.
-make sure you update superuser in the market before you save with voodoo (to 3.0.3.2 or something like that)
-restore apps from TB and SMS from backup (the ICS update doesn't wipe data, so however you have your screens setup is the way they will be in ICS)
-save root
-copy ICS files (both .zip and .crc) to /cache directory
-install Rom Manager, but don't setup saying you have CWM installed, just install the .apk
-(here is where my option differs from original article) Using Root Explorer, nav to /cache dir, long press on .zip file. Now RE gives you some options, choose open with, then under general options select Open with default
-this will open ROM Manager, asking if you want to reboot into recovery.... Yes
-once it goes into 3e recovery press both vol buttons to see status.
-enjoy ICS
I followed these instructions (the original OP):
http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/1635-successfully-sideloaded-the-ics-leak/
I didn't roll all the way back to 744, and it worked fine. Just make sure you're on stock 173 (aforementioned Bat Man utility (aka: Matts tool).

Razr won't restore backup?

Hey guys,
I had a little issue for the second time today. Before when I first rooted my razr back on GB and made a backup of it ans tried to restore after ,it would completely go through the process in recovery but when I would hit reboot,it wouldn't do anything after the dual core logo. Same thing happened today, made a backup of stock leaked .206 and installed the aokp rom. Got a little anxious to see if it would do the same thing and low and behold it did! So technically I'm stuck on this rom (not that I don't like it ) but I don't wanna go through the whole process of using Droid utility and ics unstuck methods to go back ....any help would be appreciated!

The process may be similar but he'll need to flash a pre-rooted version of the FW he's using or Doomkernel.
If he's planning on sticking with GB he'd be better to use one of DoomLord's methods so he can get CWM.
Guys the rollout for ICS is iminent do I just wait for that and root then.
Plus I cant find pre rooted 75 build any where...

Just go with the ICS everyone else is flashing; it works like a.charm.
If you want to stay with GB, then I think there is a rooted 76 somewhere around here.

you have to flash a Prerootets System image or a prerootet kernel... take al look at the devs forum, you found everything you need - try out Advanced stock kernel and then, through the recovery, install the Doomkernel and, if you needet, the WIFI modules

[Q] "xt910" new forums user+need help

reference link; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231289
Hello everyone,
I am a long time read of xda and a new forums user.I would like to thank "pzyduck" in the link above for his bringing us all the jelly bean for xt910 phones.
Reason for my post, the retail uk rsdlite jelly bean install worked perfect however i lost root, even though i used ota rootkeeper app.My problem is i need to establish root again.I have made backups of ota rootkeeper, superuser and system cwm from my previous install of ics and i was wondering is their anyway to get root back from my "motomizor app" stormbird backups? If anyone can help me with any good suggestions please reply and if successful i have no problems uploading my backups so other users can establish root again.
Try this if it works fo ya
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231142
Hit the thx button if i helped ya in anyways
Rsdlite wiped my root. This thread you provided won't help much. I was thinking of something in the terms of using terminal emulator and my backup and file swapping in order to establish root again somehow.
