Problems with torrent clients - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hi all. I'm having problems with torrent clients on my S4. Trying utorrent and ttorrent but my file is stuck at 0% on both. Says 'queued' in utorrent, just sitting at 0% in ttorrent. Settings look good. Anything I might be missing? This is over 4G and not wifi.

Download speed

Quick question. Is there a way to check how fast a file is downloading. Using stock browser on wifi. It's just something I like to check if it seems slow

I tried downloading something off of adfly and it usually works but I also had issues downloading ROMs and mixtapes from online which I always had no problem with on WiFi before

Zip files are not native to the device and are not recognized as valid files. You need to download an app that recognizes zip files like estrong file explorer then try redownloading.

Is it that you can't dl any type of file? What about apps? I ran into a somilar problem with a HTC inspire. There was a folder to delete that fixed it. There's a post around here somewhere for that.

Not really sure if this is gonna work, try installing Astro file manager, then go to "preferences" (or "options", idk, I have the app in spanish) and select the option "Web browser downloader" (or something like that)
Since I did that, I don't remember having issues to download any kind of file.

I've been using the BitTorrent app since its original beta release and I get great speeds the tci port it uses is 15448 if I was you I would try the original BitTorrent it was released a few months before utorrent and has advanced farther
Sent from my ADR6410LVW using xda app-developers app
Hmm...I got bittorrent and it looks identical to the utorrent app...I thought that was funny
what kind of d/l speeds are you seeing in the bittorrent app vs speedtest app
On speedtest app I get 20 to 30 or more mbps but 500 to 600 kbps on utorrent
I will try d/l on bittorrent to see what I get there

It may be an issue with verizon and not the app. See if connecting to wifi gets you the appropriate speeds.

WAP view with Ebay

Just got the phone and let's first say first impression has been mediocre but I'll save this for a different thread.
Any reason why everytime I enter eBay.com on chrome I get redirected to the WAP view of the web site? It doesn't even redirect me to the mobile view but takes me to dumb phone browser WAP view.

Just scroll to the bottom and select classic site. I don't use chrome but it works fine.

Yeah I have default set for desktop and I get the option for full sites on pretty much everything. That might be the issue.

I always have it on mobile view but I'm not even getting that view, I'm getting WAP view which is a hideous view of ebay.
Maybe eBay is having some issues can anyone verify this by just typing eBay.com with mobile view check on your browser and see were ebay direct you.

I don't have desktop checked on, desktop view is working fine. The problem is when mobile view is set.
Very strange problem and it's only happening with the eBay, all other websites are fine.
All well I'll do a factory reset see if that helps.

EDIT: so I just tried it again and now the mobile is back working. I hadn't tried it in a few days, but it works on the stock browser and Firefox.

Everything works fine on the mobile site for me... But my g2 is vzw, don't know if that makes a difference.
I get mobile version as well not WAP. While I understand your problem, the problem is solved with the APP. Why would you not use this anyway???

I do use the App and this issue isn't a major problem as to give me reasons to return the phone. Its just rather annoying, I'm trying to find out why is it redirecting me regardless of browser.

Htc Power To Give.

So I was browsing on Facebook and I like the htc fan pages I see this app htc makes called htc power to give and decided to check it out.
Basically the app takes your phone and uses it to download bits of information compute it and the sends it back. It acts like a super computer and I thought it was a great way for us htc owners to give back and make a change in the world or contribute to it while we charge our phones and don't use then when we sleep.
Here is the short YouTube video that explains the concept behind the app. It's about a minute and a half long.
http://youtu.be/_0oJ39vs_Kk
And here is the app on Google play if you feel like joining the cause.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.ptg
Just thought I would bring this to attention to those who want to help and make a difference with their htc device.
For those who can't download it on their device I have gone ahead and uploaded it to Dropbox.

I don't think so unless you modify it, but that is way above me. Maybe ask one of the devs around here.
