[Q] Cant post in developer forum - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Being new here but not that new to this sort of stuff, does anyone have an answer/pointer about this.
I can't post in the developer forum but have install Thunderbolt v7 JB Rom with the Dominatrix kernel on a Galaxy S2 i9100 and given it to my daughter.
I noticed a few hours after she left that the size txt message's she could send was being split. One of the features of the Rom is the ability to split sms messages but she is unable to find where to disable this feature. I won't see her until the weekend to look myself but after reading the developer thread from V6 through to V7 I am now wondering if it is a bug.
Someone else posted near the end of the whole thread about the same thing but the request for info seemed to be stepped over as the developer answered other questions around it.
No biggy if it is a bug as she can just install handcent sms or something I am just interested if it is or not. On the plus side she is very happy and the speed the S2 now runs at nice Rom.

Ask a mod to move this to Q&A.
Eventually, you'll get 10 posts.
BTW that sounds like a settings issue rather than a bug.

[Q] Threaded/grouped Call log?

Sorry, I know this probably belongs in the development forum, but I don't have enough posts under my belt. Thought about putting up dummy posts somewhere, but I thought that might be frowned upon.
I'm running unNamed 1.3.0. Is there a mod out there to have call log entries from the same people grouped together? Like if there are several consecutive calls to and from the same person, it would show up as one entry, with the detailed history if you select the grouped item. I think Froyo did this (Atrix and Thrill). I've seen a lot of people ask this question for different devices but not for the GS2, plus having a custom rom (I did search the unnamed dev thread, but I'm not about to go read all 168 pages of that thread; I read about twenty).
I know there are apps out there for my issues but I'd like to avoid that if possible. If that's being too picky, feel free to let me know. Is something like Dialer One the way to go?
Thanks for reading!
call log shortcut
if anyone is interested, there's an app in the Market called Call Log Shortcut. It is exactly what it's called. For some reason I had trouble finding a way to get a call log shortcut. Didn't look in the most obvious place because I'm a moron. I think Froyo had it (or at least the Atrix and Thrill did) but it's not on the GS2.
Free and no shady permissions.

[Q] ICS Notification Vibration

Hey guys I hate to make a new thread about something small like this, but I searched and could not find anything.
I just got the leaked ICS version as explained in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24104851&postcount=1843
It runs great and I don't have any major issues, only thing is it doesn't vibrate when I receive a text message. I have looked through the SMS settings and the Sound settings but wasn't able to find anything.
Thanks

The "Reply All" function in SMS

Sorry in advance if this has specifically been addressed. Doing a quick search didn't seem to cover it.
And I started an exact thread over in the Inspire 4G General forum, not knowing where to post it. As I understand, this would be a better place to post this question.
Is it possible for the experts here in XDA to write something into Android's code to allow for a Reply All feature in SMS, like in iPhone's SMS? I'm thinking the Reply All feature must be unfixable because there is conversations all over the internet for people requesting Google to fix it. Some have even stayed with Apple because they would miss that feature too much.

There are 3rd party apps working on this. Only google will be able to add the function to the default and to be honest it doesn't seem high on the list
Scroll to the bottom - some hope it seems..

Thanks for the link. Hopefully this gets put into Google's basic code and baked into Android.
Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

Indeed this supposedly is put into AOSP JB 4.2 ROM's natively now. I just hope I can get a ROM for my Inspire, but if not, at least it'll be there for future and some present phones.

[Q] Custom Rom Queries

Hi,
I just installed the Flashing Droid Custom ROM on my GT-I9300. Strangely im not able to post on the thread related to that ROM. So i'm posting here.
Well I find that I'm unable to access any of the widgets like the default contact ones, google search ones etc... Secondly, is worth over clocking the device? I just use it call, text, facebook, instagram etc..
Thanks

It's not strange at all that you can't post there. It's part of the guidelines for XDA. Members with less than 10 posts are not allowed to post in the those Development forums - which is why the have the Q&A section for your particular phone for you to ask specific questions about it and you can post in. But as far as the rom goes, not too sure. It's either because it's using the S5 apps or it's heavily debloated or both.

Thanks mate! I switched to CM11. That works well for me.

All Grand 2 Users

I am going straight to the point. We are not helping the devs. We only have very few devs compared to other phones.
Whenever a dev come online, people starts to eta and starts to blame them of not keeping up to date and sticking with deadlines. They are not robots. They also have a personal life.
Don't say that without X feature the ROM is not good. If so just use stock touchwiz OS which can't even keep my whatsapp app not killed due to no free ram
And please use dedicated question and answer post to solve any problem that you are facing. And only post on the official thread to report problems that are unknown to the the dev. Check by searching. Confirm that the problem is not sure to something you had done like installing unofficial packages, etc
And don't post like "my music player force closes" or my video is not recording". Post with logcat pinpointing to the exact location of bug. If you don't know how to take a log. Just search in Google or XDA, there's like a thousand tutorial.
Overall don't irritate our devs without them our grand 2 will be nothing but a piece of ****
And I am going to create a new whatsapp group. I will help users to my max extent. And all users in the group will be group admin. So don't worry. If you want to join this group please leave your numbers this thread. I will create it tomorrow including numbers in the other whatsapp thread whose admin is nowhere to be found.
So please, behave well to our devs and love them. They are doing this for us without expecting nothing in return
