My galaxy S II had just drop in a pail of water and i took it out immediately n wipe off all the water and place my phone in a bag of rice for 24 hours. Now my phone is working fine just that the lock button is spoil, when i press the lock button once my phone will just restart and it won't lock my phone. Can anyone help me???
Change the button; it's only 2$.

i have an extremely annoying problem with the vibrant
when i put it in my pocket, locked, after a few seconds it would restart.
apparently the power butter gets long pressed if you hold it for 6-8 seconds, your phone will restart, even when locked.
anyone has a fix for that ?
i would greatly appreciate it...

Why would you put it in a pocket with anything else in it, you looking to scratch the phone?
I doubt a key or something would be able to "randomly" press the power button in for that long, you sure it's not the phone?
i've retested this again and again.
holding the powet button while phone is locked and screen is off for about 8 seconds does a reboot.
I don't get the shutdown animation, only the startup.
if you can't reproduce it, what mod/kernel are you using?

My GF Dropped her Atrix in a toilet- the screen works fine- everything seems to be okay, but the power button does not work, therefore she cannot access her phone without plugging into a charger or receiving a phone call. Any thoughts on self repairs? Anyone have similar problems? Any ways around using the power button (can i Remap power to volume or something)? Thanks.
if you install cm7 you can set it to wake on volume rockers

You can wake up the phone by using volume buttons. Just install go launcher and go screen locker. This is a simpler work around than unlocking bootloader and installing another rom

Hi i have recently bought my live but im not sure the lights are working correctly on the keys at the bottom. They go off after 5 seconds of no usage then dont come back on untill i press one of the keys again but doesnt come back on if i press the screen. Im not sure if this is normal . Thanks

Would it be possible, and has anyone made, a mod to require a double press or long press of the power button for screen on? I have had my 3d since launch day and I finally can't take it anymore, nothing is more irritating than pulling my phone out of my pocket and the screen is already on and I have no battery left.
Screen time out? Never had that issue... Volume rocker wake? Idk

With my previous "HTC Desire" I was able to edit the file "bravo-keypad.kl" so that the power button does not turn on the screen ... check out this post if you want to try.

I use the fully LeeDroid ROM and there you can set the volume buttons or the camera button for unlock the screen. So you won't have your problem with the power button any more

I have an Motorola XT316 and i'm having some trouble with the Android original locker. When i press the PWR/Lock button for several times, a flashing white screen appears every time i press the lock button. Only for 5 seconds. I have to turn off the phone taking off the battery, put again and power on.
This is normal or only this phone is doing this?
