Yes, running just fine here.
Works fine for me. The app says it won't work when you set it up but i think that is so you follow the steps on the voice web page to get it to work.
Works here too for Vzw... Just get the normal message about the manual no answer forwarding/voicemail configuration step.
Mine works fine. Was a bit concerned when making calls, as it doesn't say anything about making the call with Voice, but I called someone and it came through as the Voice number. So appears to be working as advertised.
I can't get it to setup it runs fine on my note2 but will not on my S4 doing the same steps

Any of you that can't get google voice to work, are you running a ROM? I'm stock rooted with only a few mods and google works just fine for me.
I have it working and running on mine. It seems like it was a little tricky to setup.
I'm running hyperdrive at the moment. . . But even when I was stock deodexed I was unable to get it to work

mines working fine as well.. Stock rom but rooted

Does anyone have Google Voice working, or should we wait for the 3.1 update?
Thanks!!
Google Voice doesn't work. I even tried a modified apk from the Xoom.
I don't recall where I got it from, but there is a version out there that works pretty well. I'm pretty sure got it from another thread on this forum, so try searching and you should find it. It is kinda dated, it doesn't support the push notifications for text messages (so fastest you'll get texts is every 5 minutes), but it works.

I've had no luck finding this version. Does the Gtab need rooted for it to work?
I think this is the file that I have installed right now: htt p:// db . tt / T3Svb4A (sorry, not enough posts to post the full link, just remove the spaces). Let me know if that one doesn't work and I'll do a direct pull from my device. And no root is needed.

Now, if only we could make google voice calls, this would be awesome. Thanks again.
Groove IP works on gingerbread, can anyone confirm that it works on the tab/honeycomb?
Fyi groove IP allows for voice calls from a tab using your Google voice number.
I copied the Google Voice APK from my Nexus S to my LE Galaxy Tab 10.1, and it installed and ran without any of the configuration file trickery described in other posts. Neither device is rooted.

Are you able to make calls or just text? My texting works fine, but still need GrooveIP to make calls.

That will always be true for any WiFi device. The official Google Voice app is not a SIP client. You need some other SIP client like SipDroid, CSipSimple, SipAgent or GrooveIP.
I got Google Voice working by using Titanium Backup. I used the backup files from my SGS4G. It Took a while for the batch operation to finish but it worked! No calls for the time being though. Texting is great though!
Latest Version
Here's the latest version from my Infuse. Supposed to be easier on your battery.
Also, GrooVe IP is on sale at Amazon. $1.99 vs. the regular $3.99. http://www.amazon.com/snrb-Labs-GrooVe-IP/dp/B004Z1P53W/ref=zg_bs_mobile-apps_1

Thanks, for that little, no reason not to pick it up. Actually seems to work quite well (on my one test call so far!).

yes u can make and receive calls. all you need is Groove IP which is a paid app worth all the money. install the app, follow the setup, and start making and receiving phone calls with your google voice number. no root needed!!! yes u need to b on wifi
I noticed if you text on a wifi only device with google voice you dont get the text instantly, you have to wait for google voice app to refresh which its lowest setting is 5 minutes.
Is there anyway to get texting instantly?

Here is the AT&T visual voicemail app.. When searching th play store, it says this is not compatible. It said that with the original HOX also, but works absolutley perfect. No need for that horrible ATT Messages app. This works much much better. Make sure "unknown sources" in security is checked. Copy to SD card and browse with file explorer and install. Of course you can use ADB to push it also. My favorite must have program on my PC for working with files and apps from the phone is android commander. If you dont have it, get it. . www.androidcommander.com Again If you dont have it, it is a 100% must have, get it. Here is the voicemail app, or just click below.
Edit: For some people you must have Visual Voice Mail provisions on your account. If this doesn't work, you have to call ATT and tell them to activate visual voicemail. Say you just installed it and its not working. No need to say anything about how you got it, that doesnt matter. Just say play store. They have no way of knowing that it shows not compatible in play store. It took me a couple of calls to get it added but they did eventually get it. if anyone has any problems, Here is another thread talking about this app but for the OG HOX.
Worked great, thank you!

I installed the AT&T visual voicemail app on my stock ROM and it worked fine.
I then installed the Elegancia ROM and now can't seem to get visual voicemail to work at all. It just hangs at the password screen. I've tried resetting my password, re-installing the app, re-installing the AT&T address book app and syncml apks (the AT&T website says visual VM app won't work without this) and I also called AT&T to make sure visual voicemail was active on my account.
Any ideas how I can get this working again?
Thanks in advance.

Thats strange. Still works great for me. Are you still having issues or did you get it straightened out?

No, I am still having issues. I was on the phone with AT&T and they tried a bunch of stuff. It was working fine until I installed the ROM. I think it may be due to the APN changes that were made to enable native WiFi tethering but I'm not sure.
Either way, I decided to just switch my voicemail to google voice instead. I think it'll be better in the long run. Apparently with AOSP/CM ROMs, voicemails from google voice can be integrated into the stock dialer - like on an iPhone.
Thanks for providing the apk. Is it still required to manually install it? I was able to install it from the Market and I'm currently on the Elegancia ROM, so not even stock ROM. AT&T also claims it's supported on our devices:
http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB414957#fbid=17ybI57IF1g
However, I had to call to have them activate VVM on my account.
Any way to make this work on Straight Talk? I know the iPhone's get vvm to work on ST. I installed it but the app would not setup or get the details it needs after I dialed the voicemail number.

It doesn't appear in the Android market for some of us (read "Me"). I'm running DN3 ROM on a AT&T Note 2.
I appreciate the link.
Newer version?
This version of the download is 2.1.300 it doesn't work with Nexus 5 4.4.4. I wounded if anyone has Att visual voicemail 2.7.2.1? Please share the apk if you do. Thanks.
For some reason I cannot make calls using my GV #. Everything thing else works with it.. I searched and saw theses custom roms sometimes use third party dialers. It was said to set that to off in call settings, but i am not seeing that. Any ideas?
I was having issues yesterday between 630AM and 4PM EDT......I think it was a Verizon issue as my wife was having issues as well. Are you sorted now?
Could it possibly have something to do with Google updating hangouts to include voice calls yesterday?

Nope... Still calls from regular # regardless of how I have GV set.... What gives!! I can't be the only one dealing with this.. Just installed on GFs S3 and she gets same results as me.
I have been making calls using Google voice integrated into the dialer just like every phone I have ever had. Works fine on CM based roms and TW based roms. Worked since the hangouts change so I don't think that's related.

I was on clean rom yesterday and jelly beans today. Made no changes to the dialer. Neither rom is working with GV and the dialer for me.
Hi. I never found an answer to this and haven't been able to get it to work.
I'm on Cyanogen 10.2 latest nightly build and when I speak after hitting the goggle search mic. It never does anything. Even when trying to send a text hitting the mic button.
Is it supposed to work with 4.3?

That definitely should work. I'm on the GPe 4.3 build and it works flawlessly for me. In fact I side loaded the Kit Kat launcher apk so the "Ok, Google" activation even works on the home screen. Something else is wrong. Does the mic work in calls or when using a voice recording app? That would be the first thing that I would look at.

Strangely enough I can see the speaker icon pulsate when I speak into it like its detecting the sound but nothing happens. Every other function works fine. Before when I took video with my phone the volume was very low but it was fixed with a later cyanogen nightly. I've tried uninstalling Google search and reinstalling with no luck.
Hi all,
I'm trying to get the google dialer to work on my phone but am having no luck. When I follow the steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542081 I get a message saying that google dialer has stopped working.
I'm running NC5 rooted and haven't installed any additional roms on top of that.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for the help

I don't think it will work on TW. I've tried before with no real success. I think we did have a working 4.2.2 AOSP dialer on 4.2.2 last year when this phone came out but all incoming calls still used the TW dialer app.
Let someone else confirm though, I haven't looked into this too much.
I'm curious also...Have you tried this? http://pocketnow.com/2013/12/26/install-google-dialer Let us know if it works

I saw that.. People are reporting that on touchwiz phones their contacts don't show up and incoming/outgoing calls still use the stock dialer
