Hey guys ,
I am a complete newbie to this android thing . I somehow managed to root my Galaxy Grand and have insyalled Directory Bind (0o version) .
Now here starts the problem , my internal memory is called "sdcard0" and my external memory which is my memory card is " extSdCard" . I have read ALOT of forums about directory bind and got confused all over . I have created a folder called "external_sd" on my external memory card and somehow managed to get Viver and whatsapp folder on it by directory bind . Now i uninstalled it and i cant dind the binds .
Anyway , i would like someone anyone helps in telling me step-by-step how to move an app using directory bind to the external sd card . the settings on directory bind are
Default Data path : /sdcard/external_sd
Default Target Path : /sdcard/
Are they right ? How do i do this process correctly on my grand ? All the tutorials i see are for S3 :crying: ... Please help me use this app ..I had tried it on contract killer 2 and i found a folder called external_sd in my internal memory card !!!
I just dont understand the whole process.. So anyone , pls tell me how to move an app , what to move in a app( obb or the whole folder or data) and how to sucessfully do the process....
I am sorry for the long post but i am just too tired of trial and erroring in my galaxy grand ....
Thank you !!

You have to download link2sd and go to settings and set install location to external. It works just like adb shell

Works with rooted android.

Download and install titanium backup pro from anywhere you like. Open the program and click on the options button of your phone and click on batch. You'll see a number of operations followed by a run button after each one. Scroll down and you'll see "move all user apps to SD card", click on run and you are done

Without partitioning the SD card, you will always have part of the apps on internal. With partitioning the SD card, you can move the entire apps to SD card.
I just went to gplay (marketplace) and got app2sd. Whether the phone is rooted or not you should be able to move the apps to the sdcard-ext, as long as there is enough room.

Yeah it helps in moving some apps to sd but it doesnt allows you to move all the app to sd. you may need to root you phone in order to move all apps to sd. when i used to use app2sd when i just started using android i used to have around 40 mb internal memory free inspite of moving all the apps that were possible to move on an unrooted phone to sd. I was then inspired to root my phone when i saw its possibilities

How can i make an ext part on my SDcard ???
I am using link2sd and it works like a charm. I have not partitioned my sd card.
TRY THIS
If u have lucky patcher installed on ur device, the version should be 3.9.3, first of all, move ur app or game's data (the very known com.xyz.xxxxx folder) to extsd/android/data or obb by using filemanager , now create that folder with a same name in sdcard or internal sd/android/data or obb/here, which would be like com.xyz.xxxxxx, open lucky patcher v3.9.3 goto toolbox tap directory binder, remember it will not bind the whole sdcard or internal sd , it will work only for particular directory (folder), so no need to worry, now tap on add new directory bind, no tap browse the 1st one, and show it to the path of that extsd/android/data/com.xyz.xxxx folder after that select current directory, now go for browse the 2nd one, goto the internal path should be like sdcard/android/data or obb/com.xyz.xxxx select current directory, now tap on bind directory. thats it, it will save ur sdcrd space. u can check it by setting then storage, i successfully did it in my funbook infinity having 1.5gb internal space available, plays the amazing Spider-Man2 , the dark knight rises, and dead trigger.
I have a rooted but otherwise stock Galaxy Tab S 8.4 (SM-T705) and I have a 128GB Sandisk SD card. Is it possible to move all apps (with all their contents) to the SD card? I read that even though my device is rooted, I will need to partition my SD card first before i can move all apps (with all their contents) to the SD card? Can someone please tell me how to partition my SD card? Also, if I move all apps with all their contents to SD card, would the running of such apps encounter any problems (as part of them are supposed to be in the device internal memory?)
I tried Link2 SD and Titanium Backup Pro but I could not see any such function (only native Android app2sd).
Thank you very much in advance.

Make a folder on the extsd card having the same name as on you sd.... for example.. make a folder named android and then a folder named data inside it..and then a subfolder corresponding to the name you wana transfer
For example... if you want to put modern combat, place a folder called com.android.GAND.GloftM3SS inside extsd android/data ... then choose the default path and target so that the names are the same..it should look like this
And then do it

The target directory should be "/mnt/sdcard/" instead of "/sdcard/".
Also maybe it's better to bind specific directories in sdcard with specific directories in extSdCard, eg "/mnt/sdcard/Android/data/com.gameloft.android.SAMSUNG.GloftA7SS/" with say "/mnt/extSdCard/GameData/A7/", instead of binding the entire sdcard "/mnt/sdcard" with the entire extSdCard "/mnt/extSdCard/".
Links2sd worked for me make two primary fat32 partitions on the sd card then uses Links2sd to just link them mate Job done

when i used (app2sd) program it gives me this msg : the device does not have a real primary external storage or the primary external storage is emulated .
My device is (samsung galaxy S3 - odin rooted )
any solution? thx in advance
I think your /sdcard is internal memory. The /mnt/extsdcard is external memory. If you removed your external sdcard do all your files and stuff disappear or are they still there?
If you are rooted I think you can change where everything gets mounted or maybe change it in your boot.img.
Also, it's not for nothing. Consider this an educational journey into the rich world of rooted phones.

First thx and about stuff disappear , no i can still see them whenever i use usb cable or any
its my first android so am new to expressions (your boot.img)
its ok just wanted to have more memory cuz my empty memory is 700 mb :S right now
and am using the factory rom ( maybe i have to setup rom so it can work?)
about education am afraid to educate on my s3 maybe i have to buy a cheap one until i learn how to use
thx again bro
Since you are rooted you can install a custom rom that has no bloatware. You'll get more space because it will only have the apps that you want

Hi
Someone plz tell me how to move fb and whatsapp in SDcard. From Manage Application Move to SDcard option is disabled also in App2SD unable to transfer it.
Is it possible????It consumes a lot of space....
For moving apps those do not support to move in SD by default, you need root access on your device & then use any app such as "DroidSail Super App2SD" to move them forcefully to SD card.

Hi there,
Actually Questions shouldn't go in the General section..You should ask your doubt in the Q&A section....So,just have a look at the FORUM RULES.....Better luck next time

Moving facebook on sd card every time you open it, it will erase the data and you will have to repeat the account access.
If you have rooted device, you can use titanium backup to move them to SD.
The app has been moved to SD card, but i am not sure about data stored by these apps.
Data was still in phone memory, i guess.

Just uninstall stock youtube and download it again, it will be installed in SD.
To move to sd card u need 2 partions in the sd card..first make 2 partions in sd card..

How to do this ?
Easiest way is to use cwm recovery..there is a option partion of sd card click that u will ask about the size, preferabaly give 512mb that it press ok ur sd card partition is over..otherwise use windows minitool partition wizard but u need pc to do it..just google it u will get the procedure to do it.. and one more thing ur sd card content will get erased so backup ur sd card contents to ur pc..

I reply here because I spent a lot of time searching through very old posts and trying outdated methods. I didn't know that actually today there is a very easy solution to move whatsapp media folder to SD card. It perfectly worked on my Samsung Galaxy A3 A320FL:
1) Root (I used twrp + magisk method)
2) Download "App2SD" (the original by Vicky Bonick; it's free) and follow instructions on how to create partitions
3) Use "folder mount (app analyzer)" feature, which apparently was not considered in the old posts in this forum, so I suppose it was recently added to Apps2SD.
It's like folder mount, but it's pre-set for some common apps, including Whatsapp. With this feature, you can successfully move Whatsapp media folder to SD, in one clic.
In my case everything worked fine. When I reboot I have to re-mount folder, but it takes one second (just open Apps2SD, tap Folder Mount, slide "whatsapp other").
Due to Google's Android kitkat restrictions desire 816 users can't modify sd card data . There are some ways like sd fix , modifying platform.xml files etc but all these requires rooting of ur phone , which obviously void ur warranty .
This topic is discussing ways to edit sd card data without rooting so that users who are not opting for root also ACCESS SD CARD DATA .
FIRST ::
1. For FOLDERS Only :-- use the FILE MANAGER which is in Polaris office app . It can only DELETE, COPY ,RENAME the docs file or any FOLDER (Not All Files).
2. Use " SOLID EXPLORER " App from Google play store . It can copy any file from ur internal memory to sd card (external memory). . Though renaming and deleting is not available now ..
If u know any more ways to access data , let us know . ..
Hit [email protected] If Ï deserve It .

Another way .. ( for deleting files ) thanks to DRIODTON for his idea..
3. Go to SETTING - STORAGE - (SD CARD) - Make More Space - and delete the file u want ..In GALLERY u Will find all pics and videos & in MISCELLANEOUS u can delete any file with FOLDER tickets option .

I used it and it is working fine .. what's ur software number ?? Here is mine, cross check it as I m still able to copy files from internal to sd card

Hmm, I have a different software. Wonder if it used to work but HTC patched it in the software I have which seems to be more recent than the one you have. ?
Any workaround to move/copy files?
No bro .. u have to root only for that

Yes it helps
Install root then install busy box then install xposed then there is many mods inside xposed to enable accessing ext storage
I use this way write now
like this one for rooted devices.
