Strange request, but can someone tell me what the message says about a screen reader that pops up when opening the accessibility options for the first time under device settings? I skipped past it without reading it and I think it could be useful for someone I know.
Thanks.
you mean the text for using talk back option?

Not sure. When I went in to the menu for the first time a message popped up saying something about a screen reader - is that the same thing?
Thanks

I have a huge and annoying messaging problem on stock. Here's my problem. I text somone and the conversation is formed. When they text me back their message pops up on top of mine and says I've received it at a completely different time! When I text back, the message appears directly below my other message I sent... and so on.. So the messages get all jumbled up! This is REALLYannoying.. HELP?
ANYONE????!!!!
Which ROM are you using and which messaging app?
I'm using stock ROM (2.1 Update 1 with sense).. with the default messaging app.

You know my problem? or not?
Ok. One thing to try. Go to 'manage applications ' then delete data from messages app. This shouldn't delete your messages but you may want to back them up first. Then restart your phone. That is all I can suggest, unless you have thousands of messages, in which case I' d suggest to delete quite a few. Other than that I don't know unless its a carrier problem.
Just thought of one more obvious answer. Go to date and time settings and see if 'network provided values' is checked

Tried it, I'm texting someone now and once I get the response back I should be able to tell if ticking this option changed anything

Aw man. It didn't work Too bad. Thanks for the help anyway. I'll continue my searches.
The time stamps for the incoming text messages seem to arrive at completely different times (FYI)
Anyways if you could offer any further help, it would be greatly appreciated.
I solved it.. I installed SMS Time Fix by Matthew Precious (from the android market) and it fixed my problem.. Thanks for all the help though
Hello All, as I'm still learning things here on the droid side I have a question, every time I go to make a call I get a little box that pops up for a second saying USSD Code Running, what is this and is it normal? Tia
After some more reading I see that it normal..would anyone happen to know how to stop the messages from popping up.. like for instance I want to check my balance and it works fine then i get a message telling me the same info..or is this carriers related and I just need to live with it..

Check this application called 'ussd checker' in app market
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.iba.ussdchecker
I hope that helps.

Guess this is carrier related..
New Android user here......coming from iPhones in the past. Been playing with the S3 for nearly a week now and so far have no regrets at all.
My question right now is about the GO SMS Pro text messaging app. I love the way it has a pop up that shows the text message and you can quickly reply or quickly delete it. The problem I am having is when I am recording a video on the phone and a text comes through, the pop up window will stop the recording automatically. Of course, that would not be good if recording something important.
So, does anyone know of a setting or fix for this. I went through all the settings, but nothing seemed like it would be for that. I may try to email the developer to see what he/she says, but wanted to see if someone here has an answer first.
Thank you for your time.

You would have to probably turn off pop up feature while recording

If that ends up being the only way, then I will just stay on the stock app. The pop up feature is the only thing I really care about. I know I wont remember to go disable the pop up feature every time I go to record something.

So I can't stand this 9 second wait in between blinks so I installed xposed framework and the LED control module.
I cannot get this working correctly? Anybody have this working successfully?
If enable per say the messaging one. When I get a message it does not work. If I turn the screen on, then back off, it will work...but obviously that isn't right.
Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks!
I just installed and activated it. I did not do anything special. I did select the apps to include.
Ya selected the apps and triple checked settings and couldn't get it. Only time it worked was how I explained above....beats me what's going on...lol
Well I finally figured it out. In the phones standard notification settings, every option needs to be checked. I had unchecked incoming calls and downloaded apps. So once I checked every option in there it is now working! Yay! Not sure why but that fixed it
Now I am having an issue. When I send an email using the Email App (Not Gmail) the "Sending email..." notification is stuck in the status bar.
Anybody else have this issue and if so how can I fix it
Thanks
Not sure what would cause that. Reboot and try sending again.

I have tried that and everything else I could think of. It does work for my gmail. It is just my regular email app that does this
EDIT: I think I have it fixed. I had to check the "Ongoing notifications" in the individual setting for email

So after entering in my PIN to get to the Smart Lock settings, there are no options available. I can't added a trusted device, location or voice. It's a blank screen except for a left arrow, "Smart Lock" title, and the three dots in the top right with "How it works" and "Help." Just wondering if it's a problem with my phone or if Nokia removed this feature (which begs the question of why didn't they just remove the whole section, or is that not allowed?).

Thanks for the reply. Looks like it is a bug. Can be (temporarily?) fixed by turning off Smart Lock ( Settings > Security & location > Trust agents), then rebooting the phone, then turning Smart Lock on again.. But someone said that the bug came back after a few days and they had to do the fix again.
I'd post the link to Nokia's community support forum but I'm not allowed.

That worked - at least for now. Thanks for the tip!

I'm having the same issue, disabling the trust agent, rebooting, and re-enabling brought it back for a little while. I can't figure out what makes it go away.
A chat in the support app had me boot to Safe Mode but that didn't do anything for me. Nokia Support said they've heard about this one and told me to wait for an update but wouldn't suggest any timing.
I have posted this to the Nokia community forum and so far no one from Nokia has responded beyond say the "solution" is to turn off the trust agent, reboot, turn trust agent on again. I told her that's not a "solution," it's a workaround. Still no real fix. Maybe in Pie?
