Damn, 2.3ghz. That's faster than my computer lol. Only 16gb of storage tho.. Ugh, I thought the HTC making the One 32 and 64 gb's that it was done with 16gb phones from now on. Someone needs to tell them that 16gb with no microsd card slot is NOT enough storage. People are embracing the cloud as much as these manufacturers would like.
HTC wants to figure out why they are in an economic hole? It's the little things like that, which Samsung does right, that are keeping them from climbing out.
P.S. How can it arrive in summer with Key Lime Pie when it hasn't been announced by Google yet?

Rumors...

Well think of it this way the Chinese HTC one has an sd card slot because they had extra room due to a smaller radio chip. So it's not that HTC doesn't like sd cards they just try to make the phones as compact as possible and sd cards are the first to go if they need space... Now with a bigger screen they have more to play with. All just rumors anyway but it seems possible either way.

Only 16gb of memory? Not believable yet to make something like the One then make another flagship with less memory.

I will be all ears looking out for rumors of this if it turns out to be true. Im not high on a galaxy device at all. But if this comes to fruition and HTC steps up to the plate, I would definately be all over this. Possibly S5 processor, LTE and Jelly bean?? I would use one of my upgrades for this for sure.
BTW....notice how HTC states they will be upgrading current devices to Sense 3.6...What happened to Sense 4.0?

current devices do NOT have the hardware spec for Sense 4.0 features. the lack of the f2.0 camera lens, and the dedicated ImageChip to work with "imageSense" and improve the camera as drastically as they did were 90% of the selling point of Sense4.0...
makes sense(no pun intended) to be honest and you can't fault them for the decision.
BUT a HTC Nexus device would be cool for sure.....can we get a little Nexus SD card love please? lol
I would take this rumor with a grain of salt. Considering Google recently purchased Motorola Mobility.

They said Motorola is a totally seperate company and get no special treatment involving the nexus. Think locked bootloader...Not happening.

What's really strange is that according to Android Central, the HTC One V will have a microSD card slot. Why would they put this in their low offering but not the higher one?

Because, someone can actually spend additional money on a 32GB SD card for their low-end device, while their higher-end device comes equipped with that amount of memory already.

While we in the development forums may thing of an sd card is a "must-have" feature, the general public could care less. The public cares more about 16/32 GB of storage than the ability to have up to 32 GB of removable storage.
Typical consumer conversation with sales rep:
"How much memory does this phone have?"
"It comes with a 2GB card. But we can sell you another card which has 32GB for an extra $70"
"How about this other one?"
"It's got 16/32 Gb built in."
"Wow, that's a lot more! I'll take the one with more storage."

That sounds like an iphone owner.
No, it sounds like a general consumer who has never purchased a smartphone in their life. We have to remember that Android is taking over the world and most people buying these phones are upgrading from flip phones. These people have a hard time buying a new computer or choosing which iPod is right for them. Show them a selection of smartphones and they simply buy what the store sales rep says is the best option for them.

what it comes down to is 1 thing. COST to HTC. If they can offer more on board memory and the price of having the SD is more than the extra onboard then its clear what way they are going to go with to achieve a "minimum" amount of memory for the phone...

That's short sighted and somewhat dependent on the demographic you are referring to as "typical consumer"...
My wife - just wants the phone to deliver her email, texts and phone calls and may not even know the Android Market exists.
My teenager - complains that she's out of storage space with all the music, movies, apps, wallpapers etc. I'm actually buying her a 32GB card so she can lose her iPod and just use a single device.
And me - i'm my teenager plus a flashaholic so these things are important.
Yes...there's google music but they haven't quite ironed out how my family can share my music like i can with my ipods so local storage is important (oh yeah..I also have sprint with **** network where i live so downloading is a house of horrors).
And anybody who thinks that an 1800ma battery is gonna suffice when you fire up some LTE is smokin crack.
I'm about done with HTC. Still upset about the s-off situation on my Evo 3D.
As for what they could have better on the One X...
S-off without needed to use their stupid tool.
Removable battery.
SD slot.
Add a kickstand.
Charging port on the bottom so you can use the kickstand (or case with one) while charging.
No buttons.
Did you guys see the rumored specs for the Galaxy S 3? Totally blows the HTC One X out of the water. And it will have s-off on day 1 too.

One X+ with removable battery and Micro SD?

Hey guys, this is the reason I didn't pick up a One X. I'm waiting for the quad core CPU with LTE compatibility, removable battery and expandable memory.
Do you think the One X+ will fit these criteria? If the battery is over 2200 Mah I don't really care about Removable battery. But an 1800Mah, I mean come on HTC.

The battery isn't bad now either, only charge it at night, about 3-4 hours onscreen time, unless you are a gamer ofc.
What are you planning on putting on your sdcard, isn't 32GB enough? I have about 10GB free, multiple movies and episodes of series. About 15 games, and maybe 30 apps on it.
The only reason I see is LTE and upgraded CPU, however with Faux kernel my phone is max 1,5GHz at Quad-Core, and if you are lucky and get a variant 3 it works at 1,6GHz Quad-Core.
And there's no chance that it's gonna have removable battery, maybe a removable sdcard at most. I'm pretty damn sure they are gonna stick with unibody design, it's sexy as hell!

There's only three hard facts. Everything else is heresay. Fact 1: There's an Evita (XL) variant with a 1.7GHz Teg3 chip and Nvidia Icera LTE radio running JB that's been seen in benchmarks during its testing. It's going to be an AT&T phone. Fact 2: T-Mobile U.S. is going to launch a new HTC phone with a sales code of Era42 in September. Fact 3: A 5" 1080P HTC phablet has shown up in benchmarks during testing heading to Verizon.
Stuff in the UK has said they've heard from "insiders" that there will a C2 version of the One X (Endeavor HSPA) that will have a 1.7GHz Teg3 chip and an "improved" battery coming in October. If you believe that they also said that it will work with existing accessories so don't expect any physical changes like a removable SD card.
I think it will get the evo 4g battery not removable plus SD card slot.

Micro SD I don't need (plenty of memory atm and same reason as 1, in about a year or 2 I buy a new phone which will have more memory anyway).

I'm really looking forward to the so rumored 5' HD Quad Krait HTC phablet, but One X+ came out sooner.
Got me with my hand tied, i will try to take it easy and wait for the 5' HD Phablet, but I really need to replace my good old Desire HD.
Still i think that both phones, phablet and X+, won't have removable battery and expansable mSD.
One X has been confirmed withouth removable battery and expansable mSD.

Agree! As much as I would prefer a MicroSD slot on the One X, surely 64 gb is more than enough for most people!

Agreed that 64GB should be plenty for anyones needs, also that the improved battery capacity should make sure a day of medium use is easy.
Anyone complaining about these being "missing features" is just being plain greedy !!!
64gb is a lot compared to the 8gb it looks like the "Nexus 4" is getting!

Yep, I am almost in the same position as you, so close to buying the LTE Samsung (except I hate the screen colours "The Only Reason") I am a photographer and like to show case some of my photos on the phone.
I need a phone very soon to replace my lost phone, and some things just bug me with HTC, not international LTE in there flagship phone like most other manufacturers. And the lack of SD card, may be I wouldn't care if the device supported USB 3, so I could upload my music collection in 2 hours (card reader) vs a whole day (through phone). I have always taken my class 10 card out of the phone to transfer files with my USB 3 UDMA card reader because it takes far less time and I can continue to use the phone and take it around while I am waiting for the transfer to complete.

Seems AT&T version will have micro sd slot

but it looks like it'll also have the 8MP camera instead of the 13MP one: http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=23408&cdvn=news&newsarticleid=35458
It's odd since many sources seem to suggest that neither version has expandable storage.
Seems sprint version will come with the 13MP camera: http://www.androidcentral.com/hands-lg-optimus-g-att-and-sprint
It will. That flap on the left side of the phone holds a sim slot and micro sd card slot within.

Funny thing is the 8MP version apparently takes better pictures than the 13MP version

Rogers seems to suggest that it doesn't have a micro sd slot, but has 32GB built in storage only.
Also, like the Galaxy S (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) series, it seems they will be branding at least a couple of different models as the Optimus G; the AT&T version is the E970 (once rumored to be LG Eclipse?) where I believe the Rogers version will be the E973. Like CXENTE, I'd rather have a micro sd slot rather than the 13MP camera.

I definitely agree.
13MP on a PHONE???? That's overkill. If you need that pixels, you also need a real lens system.
No removable storage... almost unforgivable. I've got a 32GB mSD already. I'm coming from an HTC Inc, and almost nothing used the internal storage (/mnt/emmc). So, I would rather have 2-4GB internal and a mSD slot.
I'm concerned about the battery... I've had to do the battery yank quite a few times, so .....?
Give me root. CM10 would be nice. Then I'll be "super" happy.

probably different antennas and what not, for Att and maybe something to do with the micro sd card, that's only one 1mm wider or .040 of inch thats, not that much unless, you have little hands then maybe, I work with .001 of inch everyday and .040 isn`t much.
Just like to say, I have the phone now for the past 6 hours and it fits my hands great, I haven't had any issues yet with the screen size or anything. And yes not only does it come with a micro sd slot but it also had a 16GB sd card in it out of the box. It came with no headset though just the sd card and charger, also it does have a 8mp camera but it sure seems to take nice pictures.

Will you buy the nexus 10? Vote in the poll!
At this point in time I really have no use for a device like this, considering that I already have a Nexus 7. When I do buy a tablet it will most likely be a Windows 8 Pro laptop/tablet hybrid. Something that I can get work done on when I need to work, and consume media on when I want to consume media. It is an attractive option though.

Absolutely. After spending some time with a loaner N7 a few months ago, the N10 is exactly what I've been holding out for.
My enthusiasm is almost Apple-esque.
I don't like the look of it so no.
take my money nao!!!
I was excited to see the specs or the Nexus 10, but the price for me is hard to justify. I know the 300ppi screen would be beautiful, but I would only really use that for movies and I am usually watching movies on my pc anyway. I have a tf201 right now and I only use it for movies and reading(which is a bear sometimes). Personally I think I will pick up a new nexus 7 32gb model. Just my opinion.
on the fence. On the one hand the specs are great. On the other, I think they totally missed the mark on design on both the tablet and the official cover. I am no apple fan boy at all, and constantly belittle many of their practices. Their hardware design is king though, in the tiny details. This cover with the back attachment looking bit is not clean looking, and the slightly rounded off sides to the tablet are a bad choice :imo:
The nexus 7 on the other hand is a beautiful design. Will have to play with both side by side and see which is for me. hdmi out is nice too...

Yes it would have been nice but they say adding in an SD card slot would have jacked up the price :/

yeah i figured... but dam 100$ for another 16GB is a bit high but what can we do...its a company just try to make money like us... i mean now days you can but a micro sd 32GB for like under 20$..
i wonder how much they would of increase the price if it did have a sd card reader ...
still new to android pure google but have they made them with sd cards before or goolge likes to roll like iphone/ipad/ipod with no sd slots ?

[Q] LGOG Similarity / Dev Support

I'm going to be upgrading on AT&T soon and am looking at the phone market closely. I'm in-between the LGOG and the HTC OneX+. I have a couple of questions.
1. How similar is the LGOG to the Nexus 4?
If they are slightly similar, could N4 roms be easily ported?
2. Does it look like dev support is going to be good.
3. Do you feel this phone is future proof? At lease for 2+ years.
My captivate is still kicking thanks to the wonderful devs. It is truly amazing what they have done. If the same will be true for this device it's a
no-brainer.

1. Very similar, almost the same phone. According to the guys in chat once the kinks are worked out n4 roms will be easily portable.
2. Rooted and unlocked this fast. N4 ports... Probably.
3. It's basically got everything a new phone could possibly have. Nothing on the market touches it... That said no way of knowing if devs will stay. I just moved from a captivate also. It stayed alive that long because of the i9000 devs. This will probably last even longer being so close to the n4.
All my opinion of coarse..

Thanks I just order it cause I saw ten minutes ago bestbuy raised the price back up to $199. I ordered it on amazon before they too raise the price. For $99 it was too good to pass up. And I'm really hoping this device is as great as the cappy was. However, just stock looks pretty good. LG did a great job of implementing some most wanted features in stock. Fingers-crossed for CM10.1!!
I'm also on the fence between the OG and OneX+. I really thought I wanted a N4, but this phone seems to be better, especially with the sd slot. I've got two more weeks before I can upgrade, but I'm leaning towards the OG over the HTC, it seems more future proof.

I played with both and the OG had a much nicer screen. Also, the OneX+ doesn't have a menu button and I noticed on some apps there was a really big on-screen menu button that was ugly.

Definitely better than the one x+, the snapdragon s4 pro on the Optimus G smokes the Tegra 4 in one x+. Everything is buttery smooth on Optimus even with ics. One x+ is having jellybean but sense still lags. The only thing which is awesome on the one x+ is the display and camera. But Optimus is very close on both those department as well. If you are looking future proof for a while like 6 months to 1 year the Optimus G is not a bad option. One X+ SOC is already old.

Another question: Does the phone come with 16GBs internal or 32GBs internal?
There is a lot of mixed answers. Att had the phone listed as 32 but expandable to 80Gb (with a 64gb SD card). Amazon list it as 16 but comes with a 16 micro SD card.

The AT&T version comes with 16 GB of on-board storage and a 16 GB micro SD card so it Does comes with 32 GB out of the box. But, you can replace the micro SD card with one up to 64 GB and increase your storage. Now the Sprint and International versions both have 32 GB of built in storage, but no micro SD slot to expand it.
Hope that helps.

Thanks. Still so worth it just for the expandable option. I have a 64 GB sdcard just waiting. I have a gnex right now, love the fast updates, hate being held back by storage.
One of the devs should look into a storage swap script. On my tab, I use a SD swap script that make the internal the external and the external the internal. Works great for all those large games that get installed on the internal memory.

I broke down and called AT&T this morning about upgrading me a couple weeks early. "You've been a loyal customer...blah, blah, blah...., no problem, we'll get it send out tomorrow." So with the overnight shipping option, I should have my LGOG by Tuesday...can't wait. I did miss the $99 deal, so I had to shell out the full $199, but since a couple weeks ago I tried my hardest to get google to take $349 from me for a 16GB N4, I guess I still saved a good bit.
Thanks for everyone's input...looking forward to seeing what we can make this thing do.
