are you just talking bars?
What are your dB numbers?
I usually have a couple bars in doors at my house.

I'm on stock 1.26.xx.12 I have 3 bars and -101
are you dropping calls? what's your data speed like?
Not dropping calls but data seems slow. Do I need to play with the apns?
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
its because the stock rom is not showing your real reception. this is a known issue but its not really an issue its just cosmetic. stock carrier roms show higher signal even though your signal isnt really that high.

this is correct ..we were just discussing this in another thread ... the lack of bars is only cosmetic and your most likely getting the same signal you always did. It just reads different

It's an ICS thing. The new update messed with our signal. The only way to fix it is to S-Off and go back to Gingerbread.

Sorry for the late reply, you can search for modems I can provide a link if necessary but a Google search should be fine and you will need to root and have cwm installed to do this or use a flash tool or Odin if you have a galaxy,

I use to get full five bars at home using GB, after updated to ICS (SuperSayain rom) I pretty much only getting 3 bars. What I did was in the mobile network setting, changed mode from auto to WCDMA only and so far i've been getting pretty much 5 bar most of the time with occasionally dropped down to 4. hope this works for you too.
I am also having this strange issue. So is reverting to GB the only way or can you just flash the gb radio? Anybody know anymore about this??
Same issue here. At home used to get full 5 bars, now 3 sometimes 4, which is fine as I am usually on WiFi anyway. Problem is I had great signal all throughout my daily commute to work to where there is sections of my drive that I have no signal. Before in that area it would revert to EDGE from 4G and mine is set to auto.
Just believe like everyone else mentioned that it is the ICS radio. Hopefully an update will fix it

No. And to the people talking about modems and odin and.. yea, no. We don't have modems to flash, and odin is just for samsung devices. Until now we couldn't flash a radio if we WANTED to.
You know the iPhone's fix when people were talking about how bad the signal was for the iPhone4? They had been boosting the REPORTED signal strength. So did HTC, so did Samsung, so did.. all of them. You'd drop a call when it showed you had GOOD signal.
Not a single person has posted about having ACTUAL worse issues. The OP said he can make calls and talks about how many bars.
Apple's opinion:
We have discovered the cause of this dramatic drop in bars, and it is both simple and surprising.
Upon investigation, we were stunned to find that the formula we use to calculate how many bars of signal strength to display is totally wrong. Our formula, in many instances, mistakenly displays 2 more bars than it should for a given signal strength. For example, we sometimes display 4 bars when we should be displaying as few as 2 bars.

People here are having the OPPOSITE problem, it LOOKS like you should have an issue, and you don't.. but people keep posting about it even tho there hasn't been any issues.
This is the ONLY person who had actual signal issues(Weird Interference/Reception Call Issues on my Amaze) I have seen since ICS dropped, and it turned out to be a hair on the contact for the antennae. Read his thread, he methodically checked quality and could answer basic questions - and then he fixed the actual problem.
Edit: I'm not trying to be a jerk, but if someone is ACTUALLY having problems, they actually can't make calls, drop calls where they didn't before, etc.. then there is probably a problem that can be fixed. But unless you are having those issues it is likely that the signal strength you're seeing is more accurate(EXACTLY like the apple quote I put above), they are just doing a better job of SHOWING the actual signal. Which is good, no unexpected dropped calls or BS.

Carrier name shows up as Maritime. When making a call, the app shows that the phone is immediately hanging up, but then the call goes through anyways and shows up in your status bar. You can select the notification to get back to your dialer.
Everything else seems to be working so far, however.

+1 for this. I was looking for the stock modem that comes on SnowJB that way I have it before I flash this just in case.
Does this increase cellular reception or Wifi signal? My G has problems with low service areas and will often get poor Wifi signal from multiple routers. Just curious because I'm not sure what a different radio is or does or where to get others. Sorry for the bother.

8 meter gps accuracy in a basement is good. Being in BFE USA doesn't really impact GPS performance, it actually helps so long as you're not under a dense tree canopy. The lack of tall buildings to play havoc with the RF coming in from SPACE helps a bit. I've seen 1 meter accuracy in the middle of nowhere, Arkansas and that's more BFE than anywhere in Virginia.

Maritime Communications is partnered with AT&T. Mainly used for cruises and such. While people on other networks like T-Mobile and Verizon may be charged roaming / international rates, AT&T does not. I preferred Maritime back on my Atrix 4G. Granted, I'm connected to AT&T Microcell, now.

I wonder if you have an overlap of network types between VZW and another carrier like AT&T or something like that?
the DNA can only connect to Verizon's LTE spectrum IIRC. It can do basically all GSM/CDMA but not LTE.
I'm wondering if maybe he has a custom ROM or a custom status bar. If he is stock then that icon change is weird. And as stated, the DNA can only connect to Verizon's LTE. It does not support LTE from AT&T as it runs on a different frequency.

Shouldn't be a difference between 4G and 4GLTE. Your area is probably getting prepped for 4G. Expect it to go on and off for several days, even weeks, before it is officially turned on.

Seeing how your area just got LTE, expect it to be slow for awhile. When my area got it a year and a half ago, it was pretty sucky for the first few weeks. Most likely they are setting everything up. Give it some time and it should start getting faster.
If you do live in an area that has had LTE for more than a month and you still have this speed, you should call Verizon.
