Whenever I go to change the wallpaper in Launcher Pro, I get only only option, those darn colored lights. How can I add to this list? Also, even though I have downloaded Live Wallpapers, installed them, and have been notified that the installation was successful, I do not see it as an option anywhere. Any suggestions?
Some of the Live Wallpapers might not work, I've had the same issue. But, many of them do work. I personally like the grass one as it's a low graphics footprint.
As for wallpaper, most of the built-in ones are just embedded in their respective apks. you could just create your own 1024x600 images, drop them in /DCIM and you should be able to select them. Or, the Market has downloadable wallpapers, I believe.
Thanks! I could not determine just where to put the wallpaper files. Thanks. Will also keep trying with the Live Wallpaper. I was concerned it was due to a hardware problem.
Still no luck finding a Live Wallpaper that works. Also, the wallpaper I add to the DCIM folder.... what format should it be? jpeg? And do I just put them in the DCIM folder? There are two other folders there, but none of them show up when I try to change the wallpaper in Launcher Pro.
im using launcher pro and running aquarium live donate works great tons of features too

Hi,
Putting a JPEG into /DCIM doesn't seem to work. Any other ideas?

Hi,
I haven't found a specific way to do this, but I did find that if I install ADW, then the ADW Ubuntu theme, both from Market, then, uninstall ADW, I could still use the wallpapers from ADW Ubuntu theme in Launcherpro!
I was hoping I could do that with the other ADW themes, but the ADW Ubuntu theme was the only one that worked ...

How do we use an image as wallpaper
OK, I've tried everying. I have a JPEG and can't figure out how to get it set as wallpaper. Using stock TNT and LauncherPro.

Hit the main menu, choose Wallpaper then choose Gallery. Browse to your picture, select it, drag out the box to cover the entire picture (or most at least) and click save.
Your .jpg picture is now your wallpaper.
I'm having this same issue. I saved a wallpaper and moved it to the root of the /DIM folder. I hit Settings --> Wallpaper --> Wallpaper gallery. There's still only the two stock images in there.
Any help?

Images you add to /DCIM folder will NEVER show up under Wallpapers or Wallpaper gallery. Images listed in Wallpapers are part of the app.
Your images are only available when you select wallpaper from the menu, then choose Gallery. This will load your gallery of photos which you can choose as a wallpaper.

I can't find that option on this ROM. When I select wallpaper from the menu, the only two options I have are "Live Wallpapers" and "Wallpaper Gallery".
Try opening your gallery, find one of the images you want as your wallpaper and long press it, press the "more" at the bottom of the screen and select "Set as" and see if Wallpaper is one of your choices...
The only place I could find the pic that I downloaded is within my "Photos" app and it only gives me the option to share or delete it.
Looks like something is missing in that ROM if you don't have the option to use an image as a wallpaper.
I know this is kind of the opposite of this threads topic, but..
How would I go about extracting the 2 wallpapers from within launcherpro's wallpaper gallery? I actually only want the darker, 'carbon fiber' of the 2 in my phone so I still have it even tho I no longer use that particular launcher.
Thanks in advance!
Live wallpapers are missing on my grab. I can see mywater in Manage Applications but cant get to it/find it on the sd card. Any ideas

Some ROMs (mostly HoneyComb ones, eg.: GtabCombOver) don't come with any Live Wallpapers.
If the ROM does come with Live Wallpapers, then they will reside in .apk file in the /system/app/ directory.
Third party Live Wallpapers, if they are installed, will be found inside /data/app/. They will be found on the SD card only if they've been moved there--either as part of their install or explicitly by the user.
That's helpful. Thanks.
Hello all!
I was using the livewallpaper application, and wanted to select different stock wallpapers that came with the Prime, as well as the new ones that came with ICS, on different pages. When I went to select my wallpapers in the Live Wallpaper (LW) app, it let me browse the file manager or the gallery for photos I want. The gallery only contains photos I have taken, or have downloaded. So, I went through the file manager. After going through just about every folder that would hold pictures, I came up with nothing.
Is it possible at all to see and find where the stock wallpapers are? If so, can one find both live and static wallpapers? Or just the static ones?
One annoyance of the this phone is that when I try to set a JPG to be a homescreen wallpaper, the aspect ratio that it allows you to crop to is for exactly one screen. Not a big deal if you use Touchwiz since the background doesn't scroll. But for most other launchers (I use Nova), it looks retarded having black space to the left and right of the central image.
Anyone find a workaround for this?
Thanks.
Yes, you need to use the stock ICS Gallery app to do it.
I just figured this out as I am using Trebuchet, there's a thread regarding replacing apps with their stock android counterparts here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1728308
Note that you don't have to replace the TouchWiz Gallery app, you can have both (I do atm since that thread said replacing it broke the camera preview).
Just open the wallpaper you want in the ICS Gallery app and set as wallpaper within it so you can properly crop it for scrolling.

Thanks for the reply.
Sorry if I'm being dense, but when I try to install the Gallery2.apk, it says something about replacing a system app. How did you get it to have dual install?
I just copied Gallery2.apk into the system\app folder and installed it - just hit yes. It won't replace the TouchWiz Gallery app. You get that 'replacing system app" thing with anything you install to system/app it seems... got that when I installed Trebuchet as well, and had both it and TouchWiz accessible till I deleted SCLauncher2 or whatever it's called.

That's what I did, and it installed the new gallery. But when I hit the ICS gallery icon in the app drawer, it just launches the Samsung gallery...although when I hit set as, crop picture using ICS gallery, it works fine. I still can't just launch the ICS gallery though.

Wallpaper Wizardrii lets you crop the image anyway you want, it's in the Play Store.

Go into Application Manager -> All
and scroll down to both Gallery apps. You may need to clear Launch By Default on them both so you can pick which to use again.
I've got one of those Chinese X310e phones (similar to Zopo ZP100) that came loaded with a default wallpaper (see attached image showing part of it) and I want to transfer this wallpaper to another android ICS phone.
This default wallpaper is built into the ROM and not in the wallpaper gallery that came with the phone. If I change the default wallpaper the only way I know of reverting to the default paper is by doing a factory reset. I've googled trying to find (using Root Explorer) where this default wallpaper is hidden in the ROM but can't find it. Googling does not help as it seems that the default wallpaper is in a different file location for different phones.
Does anyone know where I can download it, where it is hidden in my ROM or does anybody have it in their wallpaper gallery?
Help appreciated...

Its not an ICS wallpaper . That is the wallpaper from Android 1.5 (Cupcake). Here you go.
Thanks for your reply Theonew but the picture your link directed to is only the central portion of the wallpaper I am looking for. On my ICS if I scroll left of right I get an extended view of your linked picture showing some bigger rocks.
For those who want the full Android lake wallpaper in hi-res, a link is provided in this thread
