Good morning,
I want to localize some application, that the apps will use another language than the system default. I am a reverser, I found few tools like apktool but I think I am going too far. Is there any easy way to change specific application languages?
For example: I want the google navigation to speak in another language than my system default (Englsh). but to keep my system default (English).
Its not really matter but:
Android Version: 4.2.2 (JB)
I am not posting this question in any specific forum because it is general question for all the android devices

Is there any way how to add Czech UI localization ? I have 2 ROMs:
1. Official one with Czech localization (but I can not us it, because not working 3G)
2. Another one with missing Czech localization.
Both of them are Android 2.2.2.
Is there any simple way, how to transfer localization?
Sorry to say, there is really no simple way to do that. localisation is often app dependant, which would mean you have to decompile, change and recompile multiple apk's (framework, launcher, settings, etc.)
Hello,
I am an Irish language enthusiast, and I would like to have the option to use Android in Irish.
Older Samsung phones had this ability, possibly others.
It's clear that Google is not going to add this to stock Android in the near future, so I'd like to do it myself!
How would I go about adding Irish as a language to Android?
I would be able to do the translation myself, I understand that this probably requires making a custom ROM
(I have no experience with making custom ROMs)
Could anyone explain the process of doing this to me, as I'd really love to try it out !
Thanks (I hope!)
Search "Language Enabler" on Play Store (Root Required)

Currently, you can "unhide" languages with root on a Sumsung device even without switching ROMs (root is still required). Search "Language Enabler" on Play Store.

You can also add languages by editing the APK .... and by creating a folder in apk/Res/values-id ..... where id is the language to add ... for example for english is vaules-en .... and add the file within string.xml with the translated strings ...
I have imported a Huawei Mediapad Honor X1 from China. I have managed to set it to English and installed all the Google apps i need (or think i need because every time i want to use something specific i learn that some hidden Google app is needed to do the trick).
Because i do not want to reset everything to English when i reset to factory default i hoped i could find a custom rom with English as it's standard language and the playstore installed etc.
I did some hefty reading in this forum to find several things.
A) there are custom ROMs but these are work in progress;
B) there are official ROMs;
C) After i update from the stock image the DPI will change so some apps will not work and the UI will look horrible.
So based on these findings (if they are correct) i have some further questions.
1) Are there 'finished' custom ROMs that i could use?
2) Are there official custom ROMs that have English as their default language, have playstore installed and have the original DPI
3) Currently i have Build number 7D-503LV100R001C233B002 and kernel version 3.0.8-01316-gb959b08. Is there a reason to upgrade from this version? From what version will the DPI change
4) I notice that it looks like the GPS is lacking connection time (i noticed my weather app doesn't change location when i am in another city). An app like GPS tester shows that my GPS does work. So i think it has something to do with automatically checking for changes.
Does anybody knows if this is a known problem?

You could try updating to B006 or B007, which don't mess with the DPI and are still 4.2.2. I don't recall which one made the DPI change but you can read acuratslan's threads/;posts.
Root it and install Xposed framework to suit your taste.
When I was still on Android 6 I was using Xposed and I loved the module Xposed App Locale. The module allows you set a locale on a per app basis, which is a great solution when you're not a native English speaker (and/or are in a non-English country) but you still prefer the OS and most of the apps to be in English.
I've now moved to Android 7.1 (LineageOS 14.1) and this is the one thing I really miss. It would be great if this ever got implemented in LOS of course but I was wondering if there's any way for me to change the locale / language for specific apps (without changing the system language)?
I'm rooted with Magisk.
Have you found any solution? :/
Any solutions yet???
Hello, My phone is in Android 11. I downloaded so many calendar apps. I realised using calendar in native language helps! As, I am a student. But I can't change the Google Calendar into Bengali without changing whole phone languge. I know that Android 13 has a feature called 'App Languages' . But Android 11 don't have this. Android 11 is the latest in my phone. So I am looking forward to change a specific app language. And I also want to change the time to my language only others English. Thanks!
Have you checked youtube tutorials?

This app has been tested on Android 10, 11 and 12.
