nope its not better ... it will not move your delvic executable file.. so it will take more memory as compare to linking apps to sd... iam also using link2sd check my screenshot of the internal memory
and also there is not any option to moving to partition so you can only move to first partition using app2sd or app manager...
I recently install the cm9 alpha onto my archos 101it gen 8, I follow all the steps and use data_1024 storage image to flash it...
But I got only 2xxmb for my app storage which only 3xmb is free so I can't install anything on it:crying:
could anyone help guiding me how to do to make the app storage bigger? Should I delete the stock rom??
Sorry for my poor English and I can't post on the development area....:crying:

yes biz, I have already renamed it to data_ics.img and put it on the root of the internal storage
exactly the same as your post:crying:
It must work. 2 possibilities.
First the file is corrupt, redownloaded it and retry
Second you have not write exactly the name of the file: data_ICS.img not data_ics.img.

Recently bought a Micromax Canvas HD A116, but really hate it because it can't have many games at a time because of only 0.91 GB internal memory. If yes, then this guide is for you, it will teach you how to Get More Internal Memory in Canvas HD, and swap Internal and External Storage easily.

Swap Internal And External Storage and Get More Internal Storage
There is a very good guide to do it -
Swap Internal and External Storage in Canvas HD
Hope this guide helps you to add more internal storage to your Canvas HD, and install as many games as you like !!
Enjoy !
...RESERVED....
Warranty issue
Wont this void the warranty ?
please provide us with some screen shots and please try out some heavy games like nova 3..
Tried it. Worked, But both my internal and external sdcard are showing external sd card. Any way around it?
No need to swap now the new 4.2.1 stock jellybean allows us to move all the heavy apps to external card directly without rooting or swapping
Can you give the steps Please or link to the guide

Try this once..
Format your external card
1. Connect card to pc
Move all data of card to pc in a folder(as per your convineant)
2.Format card using NTFS
Quick format
3.Copy your data back to card
4.Enjoy

Hi,
I'm facing the same issue with almost similar details for storage as posted by OP. Now i don't know for OP, but these details are there in my canvas HD for Phone Storage. Hence, my question is, Will following your steps for formatting external memory fix this issue?
Do you have xposed 2.6.1 installed.?

why dont you try the 2.6 gb patch
which merges internal sd and app storage
I was trying to increase the ram by creating swap partition on the memory card, but instead of deleting the partition of the memory card , i deleted the internal memory (1.7gb) partition.i used minipartition tool software.
N now the internal memory is not detected.
So in order to make things as it we're( internal memory is of fat32, primary and active), i created fat32, made it primary and made it active but still it is undetected by the phone n is not accessible.
Need solution anyone...
Waiting for reply.
