This seems to be much better on the S4 with the Wireless Dongle than the S3. I don't see much if any lip syncing.
Do you have to use the wireless dongle to accomplish this? If so is it the same dongle as the S3?

Yes, I use the same one I used on my S3. You just need to reset the dongle before trying to connect it to the S4.

Dark Menace, first off I found this post via Google since I'm having problems Screen Mirroring my SCH-I545 via the Actiontec Screenbeam Pro.
What wireless dongle are you using for Screen Mirroring? Are you running Android 4.3? If so, is Screen Mirroring still working? Thanks!

I was looking at the Galaxy Nexus threads and saw this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_--zcmqIyRI and decided I would try it out on the Note. I did this on my Evo when I had one so this isn't a new idea but I kind like it. This isn't an in depth video, it just shows you how it works with what I have working with it. The commands that the Nexus user can use with his keyboard I couldn't get to work with the Note. Not sure if its an ICS thing or what. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laUNz7QJ9Wo&feature=youtu.be
I too have been playing around with this and it is a pretty novel idea. It isn't 100% there yet in terms of being a setup I could use full time, but it does let me travel without my laptop and plug in to a hotel TV.

Is there a way to make the Motorola Lapdock to work with the Note or something similar?
I was hoping to put Ubuntu on my phone and be able to mirror that to the screen.
Any suggestions?

Can you get any of the commands to work from the keyboard like the Nexus? I'm not having much luck there. Might be a gingerbread thing.

I just found an old Bluetooth Virtual Keyboard (it's a small black box that you set on a table, and it projects a full-sized keyboard onto whatever flat surface it's sitting on using a laser) I used to use with my Windows Mobile 2003 PDA and tried to pair it with my Note today. It works flawlessly! This thing hasn't worked with any of my devices since WinMo 5, and even then it usually required a driver to be installed. Not with the Note! Just need to be sure I have the Samsung Keyboard selected (but it doesn't need to be open). I just keep getting more and more excited about this thing (except for the dark splotches on my display and low Quadrant scores).
Ok this is neat for traveling. Anyone know what cable we need to connect to the lcd monitor?

You have to have the MHL to HDMI adapter for it to work. I got mine on Amazon for $22 including shipping and got it within 5 days. Then of course a bluetooth keyboard and mouse..works good. Does your monitor have HDMI?
Edit: If your traveling I'm sure the tv might have an HDMI...unless you stay in a Days Inn as I do..

I can't get my MHL adapter to work with the Xfinity player app. It tells me to disconnect the secondary output device to play video. The reason I bought the MHL adapter was to use the Xfinity app. Does anyone else have this issue and is there a workaround?

they probably don't let you output video from the app because they don't want you to be able to give out your log in info to anybody with a smartphone who then no longer even needs a cable box lol. they want you to use the box for video output, and your phone for viewing on your phone screen only.
im not saying there isn't a workaround, I'm just saying if you find a workaround you can essentially sell your log in info lol.

It's a wireless display technology, so you can broadcast video from your device to another display over WiFi.

Like you said, has to be a miracast enabled device. I don't know of any computer program to enable it. I believe the devices are mostly smart tv and some blu-ray players. I'm hoping the new chromecast will support it.

If the chromecast device works you'll have a smart tv for $35 assuming you live in the US. I don't think it is available outside of the us at the moment. The device is pretty small, around the size of a large USB thumb drive judging from the pictures and plugs into hdmi.

Awesome I do love in the us though I'm currently out of the country but I'll be back in 1 month. I'll have to look up this chrome cast. So you just plug it in your TV and it uses the TV as a monitor and sort of makes it a smart TV? Well if I understood right that's sweet especially for only 35 dollars.

They have added Miracast but the performance isn't great on my PTV3000. However, my PTV3000 is pretty terrible so it could easily be of no fault of the Nexus 10.
I thought I noticed a new option but I couldn't remember if it was there the whole time

Chromecast does not support Miracast.
And given that it's only in the 2.4ghz range only, that's probably a good thing. In most of my use cases, you probably wouldn't want to use it without 5ghz.
It's designed a little differently though - instead of going from the internet, through the device, to your monitor/TV, Chromecast takes the content directly from the internet using your phone more like a remote. The quality of the stream should be much better.
But of course you lose the ability to mirror the screen of your device on your monitor/TV.
I prefer the better quality stream for most wireless streaming and will use my HDMI cable when I need a mirror as the performance was better with that anyway.
Hi I wish to mirror my screen wirelessly. What device can I buy to successfully do this? Im looking at netgear push2tv but not sure if it will work? Can anyone suggest anything?

You can get the Chromecast for less than £30. It supports screen mirroring well but currently you need to root the phone to force enabling this feature. Screen mirroring on the Chromecast has seen limited rollout on only a few devices.
I already have a Chromecast however I havent got a stable enough PC to be able root on.

I don't think you can use a cable. Early on, there was talk about a build.prop edit that could enable Miracast. I never looked into it as Chromecast works for me. Kodi can be installed on unrooted Chromecast. My mistake. I have it installed on Fire Stick.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't work. I have that set-up for my old Galaxy Nexus (the HDMI adapter isn't with me atm), but I would be using it with my N9 if it had worked. I can test it out next week. We use hubby's iPad mini 2 to connect directly to TV when traveling and can't use Chromecast.

I brought back the connector (https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Supported-Samsung-Sensation-Rezound/dp/B006FTKM12) last night but will try it on my old GNex (which is currently charging) to make sure connector is still functional. Then I'll test N9. I'll post back by 8pm edt.
I'm sure all of this is pointless. I finally located the info re HDMI and Nexus 9 (https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/tAmu4gd8S0U;context-place=topicsearchin/nexus/Nexus$209$20and$20hdmi). It's hardware--not a matter of no software connect (like N4 and usb otg) for an included component. On N9, the hardware isn't included.
MHL absolutely does not work. I'm certain slimport does not work, but I'd never purchased a slimport adapter to actually try it.

After trying to locate the info I used, I realized that I had installed it on my Fire Stick, not on my Chromecast--which is also a 1st gen. I edited that post to show my misinformation. However, I did locate some YouTubes that might help you stream your Kodi to Chromecast. Maybe you already can do that.. This might work, but also read the responses from users. This is another.
