[Q] What should I do? - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all
Just bought my mum an Ace 2 that was originally on Orange network - Mum uses O2. I know how to unlock it ok but wondering if I should flash the Rom? If so, should I go for a stock Rom or an O2 branded Rom?
Opinions please....

If you are about to flash new firmware and you unlocked the phone already?
Than is better to flash unbranded firmware.

[Q] carrier locked phone, custom roms?!

Hi,
I'm writing here, because I have a friend who bought an ace, but is has a carrier lock on it.
So it will be just a fast question: Can I root/install cwm/custom firmware onto it? Or maybe just an AOSP gingerbread? Do I have to manage the carrier lock first, anyways, is there any possibilities for this?
Thanks in advance
My ace is locked to Telenor and I flashed every rom here, never had a single problem.

really? My previous phone was a Galaxy Spica (i5700), mine was unlocked, but I've read that most people had problems with the imei according to the carrier lock, and my friend's galaxy s had the same.
Anyways, thank you for answer

Stock Official Rom question

Hi guys,
I've been searching about this subject but i could not find a anwser to all my questions. I own a Galaxy S III, and i see a lot off people using the UK Unbranded Official Rom, saying that it have more advantages. My phone is sim locked to vodafone, therefore it has a vodafone official rom. In the first place i would like to ask if flashing to the UK Unbranded rom gives me more advantages than the rom i'm using right know. And does flashing void the warranty ?
Thanks

[Q] my s2 is on orange, can i change it to o2?

Hi guys, Merry Christmas!!
My old S2 is on ORANGE network at the moment, and i would like to give it to my mother as she hasnt got a smartphone.
She is on o2, i was looking on sammobile and it has different firmwares, branded and non-branded.
My question is, can i flash the s2 with the stock non-branded ROM or will this cause problems because my s2 is orange branded at the moment?
I don't want to brick the phone
Use galaxy s2 sim unlock from google play and then flash o2 firmware

In theory it should never happen nothing. It is sufficient that you flash a ROM of the same nation, for safety
