Our phone karbonn a9+ has some leaked update files. How can we update it from ICS to Jelly Bean by using boot.img, system.img and recovery.img? They say jellybean had different partitions and you can't just flash it. So how? It would be really great if someone could help.

I have flashed CM9 and Paranoid Android. These ROMs can be found in the android development for the galaxy player 4 and 5 but the problem is that neither of those ROMs had Google play store and I did flash the gapps right with cwm 5
Try flashing the latest version of ICS Gapps.

Cm9 is Ice Cream Sandwich(Android 4.0) . Cm10 is jelly bean(Android 4.1) you're in 4.1.2 which is jelly bean. Flash a JB Gapps. But since our galaxy players have a modded gapps, flash the special Gapps made for us.

I've been looking all over xda and various websites for guides on how to do this.
I know how to do it with standard ROMs using the android kitchen. Recently the new Motorola X system dump has been leaked and I got my hands on it... I want to start pulling features and making my own ROM based off AOSP or PAC source.
If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great!

Use kitchen for deodexing system.img
It will extract the apks n files in system.img n will deodex them in batch

Read your question properly. You asked something and i said no. Do you have trouble in understanding the word "no"

To get ota u need to be on stock rom rooted and unrooted dont make a diffrence. You need the ota updater app to get ota. Hope this will solve all your doubt's :fingers-crossed:
