Hi .
I really need some help here, since i can't boot my Galaxy S2.
I'm stuck in the boot screen.
What i did was (from stock):
1: Root the phone by going into power + volume up + home menu, and install SU-BB-Installer.zip from my SD card.
That worked fine, i could boot in stock rom and see the phone etc.
2: Download ROM Manager and install CWM Recovery from there.
I didn't test to see if I could still boot phone after rebooting into CWM Recovery.
3: Then i wanted to install the PAC Man rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2203444). So I wen't into CWM Recovery, and wiped data, wiped cache, and did a format /system. All from CWM Recovery (touch).
Still didn't try to boot phone.
4: Tryed to install pac_i9100-22.2.0-rc1.zip from recovery, by selecting install from zip.
What i got was an error message getprop("ro.build.product") == "GT-I9100", and a lots of those, with different names ("GT-I9100T" etc.)
Efter that, I tried to reboot, and was stuck in that. When removing the battery and booting up with volume + home button, I got into the STANDARD recovery menu, even though i previously had installed CWM Recovery.
I also tried installing Siyah-s2-v6.0b5-CWM.zip, and a CM rom, both with the same result. And still, everytime i restart recovery it goes back to the standard one. I can then install CWM from sd card, and use that one, untill I reboot.
I've read the various guides on this site, which includes the use of Odin. The problem is that Odin can't find my phone, and neither can Heimdall. I've already tried installing and uninstalling the drivers twice, but with no luck. Still can't see my phone. I am using the original data cable.
So the problem is, what do I do now? :S.
Any help is MUCH appreciated!
The 'Odin won't work/phone & PC don't see each other' thing gets covered here dozens of times each week. Search for similar posts. There are a set of troubleshooting steps you need to try.

Hello.
I have a GT-i9305 andI tried the rooting by following the instructions at http://galaxys3root.com/ on my Ubuntu laptop with heimdall.
I managed to install the recovery and also flash the cwm zip. I saw som problems related to /cache/ so I wiped cache and after that I have not been able to get past boot logo. I hav ealso tried flashing a custom rom and doing a factory reset and wipe dalvik cache bu
t it did not help. I have tried Odin and flashing from a .tar.md5 file but it results in FAIL.
I can reach both download mode and recovery but that is all.
Please help, I need my phone.
did you use a i9300 method on your i9305? you've probably killed the phone.
flash a stock ROM via Odin (i9305 one) and factory reset from recovery. if that doesn't help - send it to Samsung.
And this is the i9300 section, you're in the wrong place
Thanks.
I got back to stock. I will try to use the i9305 method.
Mount /sdcard not possible
Wel, I have the same problem.
Samsung SIII International version. After installing a new rom (believe it was "jellybam-v6.1.0_i9300-STABLE.zip") but I am not sure, the phone boots only to the original logo and then the screen goes black. Nothing more.
I can get into recovery mode and download mode so I tried several recovery versions (CWM, TEAMWIN, latest ClockworModRecovery v 6.0.2.8.) and several ROM.
No mater what I install, I get the same results. Boot phone and it hangs after the standard Samsung logo.
I was able to find out "/sdcard" could not be mounted. All the recovery programs I used with the option "mount unmount" reporting the same "/sdcard could not be mount" error.
Formatting /sdcard all so won't work.
I am thinking installing a new kernel but I have some difficulties in finding witch one will work with my phone?
Any suggestions or help is really appreciated b/c I have no idea what to do next.
Samsung I9300
Win 7
Latest USB drivers from Samsung installed
No Kies installed.
Odin3_v3.07 installed.
Using Odin I flashed:
CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar
recovery-cwmtouch-6.0.2.8-GTI9300.tar
recovery-stock-dlj4-GTI9300.tar
recovery-stock-blg9-GTI9300.tar
And a few more.
Due to being unable to acces the phone installing a zip file is not possible. Using "installing a rom from zip, or sdcard" from recovery is not possible.
I tried installing a file using sideload but was not succesfull. I can get the phone in receiving a file from sideload but was unable to send a file from the PC.
Thanx in advance
you have to do a factory reset after flashing a new rom
Did wipe/clear/factory set etc every time just to find the phone goes black after the Samsung logo.
One particular thing: I can see the /sdcard in some recovery programs but can't modify it.
How can I transfer a zip file using Sideload?
I can get into "download a file using Sideload" on my phone but what should I do to get a zip file transferred. Maybe then I can use "install from zip" from a recovery.
Update Problem solved (for me) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162908
I flashed the 9305 firmware from here http://www.samfirmware.com/ in Odin then I was back to stock.
Then I rooted the phone by this instruction.
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/4...-lte-android411-android412-jellybean-root.htm
I have not tried a custom rom but I think it should work.
Hey guys -
I'm having trouble getting CWM Recovery to work with my YP-G70. I've rooted, installed ROM Manager, wiped data and partitions, installed Odin, Used Odin to (supposedly) flash the DD_01142012.tar recovery to the device. Everything looks successful, but when booting back up ROM manager only gives me the option to go to "recovery setup" instead of the normal flash option. Even when I reboot it in recovery, it just goes to the standard android recovery screen. Any ideas on how to fix this? It may be painfully obvious, this is my first root.

Rom Manager does not work for this device ( I think ) and you should not use it. "DD_01142012.tar" is not just a recovery, it's the kernel too. They are integrated. Flash it again and hold power and vol-up during boot up to get to recovery then flash your rom...
I need help to get out of a CWM boot loop. I was trying to flash Slim Bean ROM on my Samsung Fascinate SGH-T969D using the follow instructions:
h__p://forum.frandroid.com/topic/164264-slim-bean-43-sur-sgh-t959d-telus/
I installed "Darky ROM JVT-RE" with no problems (I9000 kernel with CWM). I then installed "CM install 10.2.1" according to the instructions via CWM. After the install, when the phoned rebooted, it locked into an endless CWM boot loop. It boots, displays the Samsung/CyanogenMod opening screen, boots into CWM which tries to install some update that does not exist (see attached screenshot) and the whole cycle immediately starts all over again with a reboot.
I've tried to manually boot into CWM Mode and also into Bootloader Mode to try to re-flash the ROM, but I cannot access either. I've tried the standard 3-buttom combination and various other combination with no success. I am also unable to access the internal storage "SDCARD0" to manual fix the missing directory and file, because the reboots don't give Windows enough time to load the USB drivers..
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I have a samsung S3 and I want to update it to lollipop or above as my nexus 5 has started randomly rebooting and I need a phone to use whilst I sort a replacement.
I have been following this guide: wccftech.com/install-aosp-android-5-1-1-lollipop-on-galaxy-s3/ as I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to this custom rom business.
I have rooted the device and installed clockworkmod recovery v6.0.1.2. and copied over the rom and the gapps file to my phone.
I then booted into recovery mode and made a backup of the current setup.
I then did the factory reset and the cache wipe(s) and installed the new zip for lollipop and then the gapps.
This is where I received an error "E: Error in /sdcard/0/0/0/Download/gapps-lp-20150314.zip (status 7) installation aborted".
I figured that I should restore to my backup now but when I press it, the app says that files can't be found.
I can see that the files that I backed up do exist but they appear to have been dumped inside a new directory called /0/0/0 (I think this has got three levels because I've tried this a few times).
Now I can't boot into an OS to get any other roms on the phone and I can't edit the files on there (I googled and saw a possible fix for the gapp status 7) and I can't get clockworkmod to recognise an external SD card so I can copy over a new rom or file to try (I have googled and it's suggested the FAT32 is the format for this phone and my size of SD card (16GB)).
Can anyone offer me some advice on how to get out of this situation?
Thanks
Sounds like you're at a place where you should start exploring using your computer instead of a recovery in order to fix your system.
I recommend using the PC software Odin and installing a stock ROM of your device. (Or perhaps using fastboot)
There's plenty of guides on how to use Odin both here on XDA and on the rest of the internet if you just look around a bit
EDIT: This link contains a (possible) fix for your problem.

Don't use cwm as it is an outdated recovery. Use twrp instead.

I had a look at the link you suggested and it's one of the suggestions that had come up whilst I was googling for a fix. Unfortunately, I don't have any way to get the updated script onto the phone as the phone isn't picked up by my pc whilst it's in this state, and I can't get the recovery tool to recognise the sd card so I can't put it on there either.
I'll take a look at the stock rom or fastboot option and see if I can get back into the phone. Maybe then I can apply the fix in the suggested post.
Thanks

I'll see if I can install twrp through odin.
Thanks for your help
If the phone works in download mode, try to flash a stock rom too.
Update - fixed
Hi all, just wanted to let you know that I fixed the device with the combined advice from here:
I installed TWRP after holding the volume down + power + home buttons and then pressing volume up when the message appears (I can't remember what this mode is called). I then flashed the device with the TWRP image.
After this I rebooted into the TWRP recovery mode (Volume up + home + power and then release power button when the samsung logo appears).
At this point, the device appeared on my windows machine so I could upload a new image to the internal memory.
I decided to copy on CM13 and GApps.
I then wiped the cache, system, data, and davik cache using TWRP, then I installed CM13 and GApps.
After a reboot the device came back up as a new install.
Hopefully that information may be useful to somebody.
Thanks for all your help
