Just install like a normal app

I can confirm it's working. Love the new interface! If you're missing the archive button, you can enable it in settings.

Working for me. Thanks!

Any other new Google apps?
Edit: thanks for gmail!

The new interface is too smooth. Appreciate the upload friend!

Can't we just update through the play store?

you can, this is for people who want to install it now. google is pushing it out but who knows when your device will get it!

Has anyone else noticed that swipe to DELETE is gone? Or am I having a brain fart and can't find swipe to delete? Or to get the delete option in the notification area?

I'm was able to swipe to delete

Is the swipe to delete something you've always had to set? I've always had swipe to archive without realizing you could change it.

Could you please advise how you've done this in the 4.5 Gmail app? I can't seem to find it.

you must go into Settings Archive and Delete and selete option. if you have archive set(default) change it to delete or archive and delete.

In my setting, I have a checkbox for "Swipe to Archive". This does not allow for swipe to delete in the conversation list..........

What version of Gmail you running?
General Settings-> Archive & Delete actions
then three options to choose from

The version listed in this thread - 4.5. Are you running 4.5? In the previous version I definitely had this option, but not in 4.5.

Correct. 4.5 and 4.2 version of Gmail had this option as well.

you only get the swipe to delete option if the "Archive and Delete" options is set to "show delete only"

[Q] un-hide htc apps (mirror, car home, etc)

Unlocked and rooted now and I'm seeing all those htc apps in the system app folder. How do we get those to show in the app drawer?
Thanks and of course apologies if this has been asked, I searched.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
I'm not rooted but I used an app called Any Cut to make shortcuts for hidden apps on my desktop. Apparently if you use ADW Launcher or Go Launcher they show up and are accessible.
Both ADWLauncher EX and LPP Plus show all the apps, I'm not sure why Sense doesn't .......
~John
Just using es file explorer will let you create a shortcut.

So how would you do this??
I don't have ADW installed right now (I had to have my phone replaced) but when I did it showed a CAMCORDER icon in the app drawer that could be used as a home screen shortcut.
With the totally stock ROM etc, it doesn't show up anywhere but if you hit the search button & type in camcorder it shows the icon & opens & works fine.
How would you create a home screen shortcut for camcorder with the stock Sense ROM??
~John
Really? Hidden apps?
Can someone make a list of what all there is missing?

Can't guarantee this is everything:
Camcorder
Car panel
Dock mode
Mirror
Quick lookup
Got it from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367185&highlight=hiding
Thanks. That thread is nice and was what I was searching for.
Shortcuts are fine but I'm hoping to have them in the sense app drawer.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
someone posted a thread a while back saying something about a Sense config file that has all of the apps and whether they are to be shown or hidden. now that we have perm root i'm sure that we could modify that file now but i can't find the thread that talked about it.
Edit: found it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19800023&postcount=7
Credit goes to "scrosler"
Thanks. I just tried to remove the line referring to the mirror, but it's still hidden from the drawer. I might/might not try some more but in the meantime I'll have to use search option.
Thanks again. This thread is useless other than the links to the other thread

did you reboot after modifying it? you might have to, or you might have to clear the cache, or hell, you might have to do a data wipe before it takes effect
for us unrooted folk, how do we make shortcuts from ES?

That's good advice. I'm not home now but I did reboot. Clearing cache sounds like a good attempt. I'm going to be trying that!
Clearing cache wasn't enough.. I'll be trying data wipe later.
And.... Clearing cache and data wipe was a no go. Already had to do a restore and it's nice to know CWMs workin

Same issue here, very annoying.
Same issue here. Tried re installing facebook and that did not help.
Out of curiosity, does the issue go away if you follow the steps below?
Navigate to Settings > Application manager
Swipe until you are on the "All" tab.
Scroll down until you see "SNS", then tap on it.
Disable the app.
Try removing your account from within settings.
Delete Facebook's cache and data (allocation manager).
Reboot device
Sign in.

text widget?

My friend at work has the note II on at&t. When he gets a text a little widget or notification pops up on his lock screen. A pretty cool little feature, but I cant get it to work on my phone. Did verizon disable this feature? Thanks
you need to find out which application he is using to handle his text messages......there are several. I believe handcent SMS allows for a pop up message for text messages.

Are you referring to the notification bubbles on the lockscreen with the number of missed called/texts, etc? If so, I have a fix.

what else is changed in deleting this? Or what does deleting this do? I open it up and see stuff to do with mms and bookmarks.
Thanks for the trick!

This worked, I now have the bubbles. The problem is evertime I receive a new notification I get a pop up over the lockscreen saying "swipe over the icon to view the missed event". I have to press ok each time to make it go away.
Anyone else seeing this and how can I make it stop nagging me
Thanks

You need to be root. I did it with super manager ( its free) but you can try root explorer. Dont forget to change the permission from r/o ( read only) to r/w ( read and write).

I don't suppose anyone just renamed that file instead of deleting it. I wish I would have because the information popup that tells you how to use rhe popup is very annoying. I don't see a way to reverse this. Any ideas?

New version of Gmail

The newest version of Gmail is supposed to have the ability to delete and archive an email right from the notification (on jelly bean). I updated and don't see this ability. I don't see how this is an option. Has anyone else experienced this? What's the deal?
Thanks

This is really bothering me. Don't know what is going on.
It only works if you receive one email at a time from my experience. For example if you have it on auto sync an a new email is received. It won't work if you manually sync and 10 emails pop up. Again this is what I'm experiencing.

Try doing a reverse 'pinch-to-zoom' on a message in your notification tray. It should zoom out and give you the options to archive or reply.
I see the "Archive" and "Reply" options, but where's "Delete"?
Just select the messages you want to delete and the option will show up in icon bar

From the Gmail app, go to Settings>General Settings>Swiping Conversation List>Always Delete and I think the option in your notifications will allow you to delete.

Thanks! I saw that option but for some reason thought it was only for the conversation list within the app, not the drop-down menu. Just gave it a shot and it worked!

[Q] [GMAIL v 4.3.1] Can anyone delete an email from the notification pulldown?

This has been bugging me for a week...
What's in this version:
Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and up:
• Reply, archive or delete from notifications - no need to open the app
v. 4.3.1 of gmail is supposed to give us Reply, archive AND delete options from the notification pulldown....I'm still only getting Reply and Archive.
Have cleared data/cache on the app....have uninstalled and reinstalled...still the same.
Anyone able to delete from the notofication pulldown in Gmail? I'm stock 2.04. It would be really useful to be able to do this.

Where is the slide action setting?
Nm I figured it out.
Gmail App -> Settings -> General Settings -> Swiping conversation list. set to "Always Delete" didn't seem to do it.
Can someone explain a little better?
