Phone: AT&T SG2
ROM: Supernexus 2.0 i777-M1
I spent a couple of days trying to change back the main boot screen from GT-9100 with the Triangle to the stock Samsung SII boot screen. I tried using Odin and flashing but screen change. Besides this the phone boots fine.
Any suggestions why it won't change the boot screen?
There are many threads and stickies on this issue. You will need to use a jig or an app called TriangleAway.

Thanks. It turned out the TriangleAway version I was using was too old. 2.90 works with this phone and ROM.
Awesome. Glad to hear you got it fixed.

Search for vibrant soft brick. You need to odin to back to stock and try to do what you were doing, except correctly this time... not to be rude or anything but there are hundreds of threads exactly like this one. Instead of starting a new one just search a little more.

Hey folks. I'm having problems with not getting the setup welcome screen on factory reset. I have flashed countless roms over the past few weeks and never had a problem. It's ok when I flash custom roms but when I come to flash official rom on my sgs2 there's no welcome screen just goes straight to main screen. Please advise.
One more point us that this doesn't happen when I flash gingerbread official.

Please note that I am running ics official from 3uk

Thanks but that just reset my phone and formatted my sd cards. Still no sign of the welcome setup screen just boots and goes into main screen.
Still an issue
Try flashing a firmware with its stock rom..

Done that too. It only comes up when I load a custom rom, never official stock rom apart from official gingerbread. Bizarre I know

Bizarre it is,
Using cwm format cache system data preboot
Wipe dalvik
Download stock ROM flash using Odin.
If still issues I'll be going crazy lol
Arrrgh the problem still persists. I'm beginning to wonder if this has something to do with the root directory.

Why is this so important?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
It's not overly important but it's bugging me. I generally know my way round Android but this has really stumped me. It's bothersome.

The welcome-screen-intro-thingy is part of the Google apps package - if Google apps aren't installed you wont get it. Are Gapps installed on your rom? If yes, try re-installing them.
They are, I'm running stock but have rooted and installed them to check if I was missing something.
Sadly nothing solved. I'm giving up on this now.

I've been having problems getting Siyah to work on Galaxy S3 using Faraayb's SuperNexus ROM. It's an i9300T so I'm using the TDULE6 modem as that's optimised for my phone.
When I flash Siyah in CWM and reboot, it shows the screen saying "Samsung Galaxy S III i9300T" but it doesn't get past that and just shows a black screen and turns itself off?
Is there anyway to get Siyah to work? (I've used the latest stable and beta builds)

I already did, but it got flooded by other comments about other problems.
Try the siyah thread then?

Are you sure you downloaded and flashed the s3 siyah kernel and not the s2 one? I made a similar mistake earlier
When it goes past Galaxy SIII splash screen and goes to black screen keep the power button pressed for around 10 seconds, you'll see it reboot to the splash screen and then it'll boot up into the os. Happens to me sometimes. No biggie.

Thanks so much. Can't believe I didn't try rebooting it after it failed to boot. Working now

Is there an app or other way to see how many times you have flashed different roms, mods, themes etc?
I tried triangle away by chainfire but it didnt show exactly how many times device have been flashed.. (exellent app otherwise)
If it matters device is GT-I9300, GT-I9250, GT-I9000 (Galaxy S3, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S)

on the s3 you can boot into download mode (power+volume down+home), and it will show your flash counter.
Not sure if its the same for the other devices though

Return it to the vendor unless its you that broke it .

Basically I rooted it, flashed cwm and then when I tried to flash a rom, the installation failed so I just decided to reboot the phone. It was at that point that it just wouldn't turn back on, not even into recovery. I did get a new one though
