Hello, I used for a long time Cyanogenmod and get used to the keyboard. CM keyboard is similiar to stock Android one, but has some mods: lots of keys have a second function and i find that very confortable.
The strange thing is that i couldn't find any information about that, nor an APK to install it on other ROMs.
Did someone managed to do this in some way?
If that matters, now i'm on an HTC One S

Currently I have a VS G-Tablet running VegANtab 7.0.0. It's a miracle that I was somehow able to install that rom without significant problems. I like VegANtab, but I find myself longing for the old stock interface (dashboard launcher) and the old apps which I cannot duplicate through the app store or at least I cannot find any self-contained calendar or contacts apps that do not sync to a google account. (I hate that syncing.)
So I'm looking for a way to run the old interface on a more current rom. I understand that this is TnT which is not VegANtab. I've searched the internet for ways to do this, and the results I received have left my head spinning.
Apparently, it is possible to do so with something called a Caulkin rom. What is a Caulkin rom? Something like TnT or CyanogenMod? I've never come across it before. Is the Caulkin rom just a kernel, and I have to install another rom together with it?
Can anyone point me to some info about this rom and to where I can download it?
Thanks.
There is a thread for Caulkulin's rom in the development section. It's just a seperate Rom, like the Vegan that you're using, or the original TNT was. Basically, you just flash it like you did the Vegan 7 Rom that you've already flashed.
It's called Caulkulin/Clemysn because it also comes with a custom kernel developed by Clemsyn. For instance, with you're vegantab 7 rom, you could always also flash a kernel, Clemysn, Pershoot, etc...but with the Caulkulin one, it comes packaged with the Rom.
There are many, many roms out there, now..it's basically up to you ot find one that makes you happy. some are ports of other systems roms, while others are more built from scratch using information that is available.

Hi all,
My father just got in his hands a Galaxy Tab 10.1 (WiFi model), and I want to install a CM in it. As he just want a working tablet, I want to install in his tablet CM9 (that already has a stable build, at least for the GSII - I'm assuming it's the same for the P7510...), but I'm only finding CM10.1 builds, is this normal? Does it exists a CM9 for this tablet?
Thanks for your answers
I dont think there ever was a stable release of cm9 on this tablet. Somebody must have the file somewhere.
I really don't know,
As it's oldest than CM9 (it came with Honeycomb 3.2), I thought that it had...
Thanks anyway...
:good:

the answer to it is ... CM10.1!
That my friend is something called "stock android layout", HTC modifies the official Google layout and changes it to something called "Sense Ui", so there are not much ways to accomplish this, the only way I know is you either need cyanogen mod, 10/10.1, aokp/aosp, or any ROM which has the stock Google layout.
From my findings I'd suggest you wait for CyanogenMod 10.1, its on a good start.

Yep that's probably the best advice. Changes to the status bar are at a reasonably low level on the phone, so a new launcher etc won't change it at all. You need a rooted device and a custom ROM to achieve it. CyanogenMod 10.1 would be an ideal one as it is pretty much stock 4.2.2 and has the features you want! Obviously with the DX there isn't many AOKP roms at present but work is underway!
If you want to keep up with updates to Android and stay completely stock a Nexus device is the way to go!
Thanx Guys..
I will now wait for CM 10.1 ... Hope it cums asap
Cant wait..
As per in the title, is it possible to port to Cyanogenmod 10.2 the custom camera found on i9300 stock 4.3 rom?
I tried myself but there's no Camera.apk nor the modules are easy to find on the device (my knowledge is more into MTK devices)
The reason for my request is mainly because of the multi-shot function which allows you to shoot as many photo you want
as long as you hold the shutter. That actually works very nice on stock 4.3 rom.
Hope this is the proper section for my question though.
If is not please pardon me.
Thanks in advance for your effort.
No, it isn't possible. Without the Samsung framework none of their apps work.
Thanks for the quick and clear reply. I've been searching for similar questions but haven't got any satisfying results.
Hello,
I flashed Android L Preview CM 11 based ROM last night, but unlike the stock/stock based ROMs, my soft key lights are turned on whenever I touch the screen, is there anyway to make them turn on only when I touch them like on the stock TW ROM's?
Help is appreciated.
Hi! Since it's a preview as in "not finished/stable" more as "nightly" bugs such as the one described by you are present. I think it has something to do with kernel but i'm not sure... This issue happened with cm 11 for a while and then it got fixed. Either you do a better search through CM11 Q&A help thread and see how/when it got fixed or you change your custom rom.
