Yes. You will need to specify your apk when you run it. It will ask you and all you need to type is SecExchange_J.apk
Sent from my VZW Galaxy S4 CleanROM.
This is not my app. I don't remember where I found it.
remove any exchange email accounts before running the zip in recovery.
I had to go to settings-app manager scroll over to ALL scroll down to email. clear data and clear cache before configuring it for my exchange account.

It will ask to be admin on the phone don't worry just hit ok it wont add itself.

There was a script on this site I used for my S3 back on ICS but I could never get it to work on JB. I looked but can not find it now. Another option would be to bribe your exchange administrator.
This patch is what I used on my S4 and it worked perfectly. It states it's for the Galaxy S2 but it has been updated to work with Android JB 4.2.x and I used it without issue.

I have the same problem, even started a thread about this. Would love the original widgets. Now, I have my spouses S3......could I grab them off there? If yes, could you tell me how?

I have the stock calendar widget APK from the Sprint Note 2. It works, but force closes a couple times when you first add the 4x4 calendar widget, but seems to work well after that. I think the issue might be that I got the APK and not the odex file. So I'm running the sprint note 2 calendar widget with the original odex file. I'm waiting for the user over in the sprint forum who provided the apk to send me a odex file. I'm not a developer so I'm not sure if this is really a possible cause for the issue. I'm just grabbing at straws.
Fixed my issues. Instructions are in the general section. Maybe it should be moved to this section. I dont know...
I installed this app just like any other APK and it Force closes. Not only that but now other apps FC like Maps etc. Any suggestions besides rooting and fixing permissions? Also I when the App does work I can only use half of the features. I really want to wait for CWM tar to root.

Hello people,
I know there is a mod to disable security on stock email exchange app, but I am not able to find the single mod to use/install/flash over the current setup I have. Some ROMs feature this mod as a standard, but not ARHD.
Can anyone show me the right way or tell me how to get this mod to work on the note 2?
Here you go:
http://db.tt/347dsPGQ
You need to copy it to system/apps/ the change permissions to rw, r, r and owner to root/root. Use something like root explorer.
Then reboot into recovery wipe dalvik cache and reboot.
Also make sure you remove all exchange accounts before coping thw file.

Exactly which Exchange Security features are disabled?
All of them?
Does it prevent the admin from executing a remote wipe?
Any documentation I can look at?

+1. Would like to know what exactly is disabled. I'm kinda freaked by the possibility of someone remotely erasing my device or forcing me to use pin/password etc.

It will only disable the need for a pin lock. The device administration is still active.

Thanks Dekala, that answers my question. Unfortunately this means for my purposes this hack is useless.
For the rest of you that share my sentiment over Information Security Personnel having the ability to wipe your device remotely, there is a "lesser" evil.
That is, buy Touchdown HD. Though I havent tested it yet, from what I've read so far, if the Admins decide to remotely wipe your device, it will only wipe the Touchdown Exchange Account files. It wont wipe your device, just the corporate mail account files.
Okey so I updated Beans' r0m to the latest build (build19) and before I had a Talk.apk that I would replace hangouts with in /system/app and it would replace and work.
Now when I try this it won't work. It freezes Talk when I try to sign in. I think it had something to do with how Hangouts is integrated into the system.
Someone have an apk that would work to get Talk back and how to do it?
Thanks!!

And with the new beans19 my Samsung.apk I used for auto correct and shorter long press won't work either.
Sent from my AK-55
If it's integrated into the system, removing it via a root explorer and rebooting would sever all ties to it being a system app.
Did you check perms? Uninstall hangouts, reboot, install talk, update perms, reboot again.

This thread has the info for auto correct keyboard. You have to change some lines of code in the apk that is installed with b19, the ones that are linked in the thread won't work but the guide is there. I was too lazy to mess with it last time and had the OP throw it together. I'm still on b18 so I haven't messed with the new one yet. I have a bunch of free time this weekend so I'm going to give it a try
anyone have any ideas why? the 1st APK i tried to install, just says app not installed. doesnt give a reason. 2nd APK says "having trouble parsing package"

The Galaxy Note 2 does not have Android 4.4 KitKat support yet. Even the 4.3 builds aren't official as of the time of this posting. You should only install apk files compatible with your version of Android.
