i have been running the CM 10.1 ROMs since they became daily drivers and the thing that i am having problems with is the signal bars. i have been getting 1-2 signals bars and sometimes none. i dont know if it is just my phone or if it is a ROM issue, i have flashed the radios that have came out and still the samething. anyone having the same issue? is there a fix to it? thanks for your help. appreciate it!

Is the actual signal rating worse? Bars are really meaningless.

Well I look at the status and it jumps from -84 to 0.

yeah it does that every now and then. i dont know why but its been like that with every CM 10.1 ROMs that are out there.
It's because they don't pad the signal bars like stock ROMs do. I still get 4 or 5 bars outside
Sent from my HTC Droid DNA using xda app-developers app
I do too but it stills drops to 0 DPM. I know they say its normal but its kind of annoying. Right now I have no bars at all!

You can use the phone on AT&T completely stock. You don't even need to be rooted. But lte will never work
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
I'm using the DNA on AT&T on a stock rom not rooted. So far it's running fine no issues besides some occasional signal changes going from 3G to H+.
using newtoroot's sense 5 rom on att, no issues for me, dont use mms though.
also lte will not work.

No my text show up on my lock screen with no problems. I just sent my self a text from my other phone and it's there like normal. My only beef is the signal changing from H+ to 3G constantly.

Trying to figure out why my wife's note 2 running JB v16 has one bar of WIFI sitting right next to my vzw S3 with full bars of WIFI signal.
This has been an issue on every note 2 rom I have flashed.
Does anyone have any possible Idea of what the heck is going on?
Thanks in advance.

Check your broadband. This will tell you what your radio's are set to. If you have updated roms, but never updated radios, that may be your problem.

I find my wifi signal is usually really weak compared to other devices too but I really figure it may just be a problem with a few of the N2s.

You could be right. Maybe I'll try and find another note 2 and test it I'm my house

Still no answers for this. Been reading all over other forums and it appears this is a pretty significant issue as well outside the root community.
Sounds like it may be a defect in some phones

I have no idea what the problem is, but the situation is exactly opposite in my house. S3 struggles to connect and stay connected, while Note almost always has full bars on wifi.

Hey guys I was messing with some modems and I think I flashed the wrong one and now I can't get signal to make phone calls. Does anyone have a link to the Verizon modems so I can get my signal back. I also tried restoring a nandroid backup but it restores with no signal. Oh yeah is the radio the same as the modem? Thanks.

Yes the radio is the same thing as a modem. Look in the Android Development section.

Right on man! I'm up and running again. Thanks a million, just wondering what's the difference with the different radios?
I flashed all 3 radios and all 3 just give me a 3g signal. Maybe its because I'm indoors, idk, I'll see what it looks like when I step outside.

They were just the radios that were included in the VZW updates, most times there is little difference.
It really depends on what area you are in and how strong your tower is, everyone experiences something different.

Yo bro, um the radios are great but all I get is a 3g signal all the time. I thought if I went outside I might see a 4g but nothing. Is there a 4g radio around where you can point me to. I tried to Google it but it just shows me the radios I already have . I'm in San Francisco and I always get 4g but now just the 3g.

They are all LTE/CDMA/EvDO radios. You should check mobile settings and make sure you have it set to either Global or LTE/CDMA/EvDO. If that doesn't work we need to know what ROM you're on to begin with.

Flash the new radio at the cost of battery life. I noticed big drain with it so I went back to the MDK radio. Just a heads up!
If you wanted to you could back up your current ROM and flash a stock touch wiz ROM and see how the signal is.

I second that. Whenever I run into a fairly serious problem ill revert back to stock to see if its rom related.

Bear in mind that what held true for you is in no way, shape, or form applicable to the entire user base. Some will see better. Some will see worse. Some will see no difference whatsoever.

Yes of course! That's just what I saw, so I was warning that it might happen to them too. I'll be more clear next time.. :good:
Just curious as to whether thee are any custom radios I could flash to increase my signal strength? I pretty much live in a dead zone, which is saying something for Verizon. Can anyone help with this? Thanks!!

If you go to the dev section, there are 2 of the latest radios. With Vramc3 being the last released. You will just have to try them out to see which one works best in your area. Look under the multi thread.
Will do most definitely thanks!!
