Hi. whats up?
I tried to install the mod Cybershot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1945470) on my XU, but I done wrong and the camera icon disappeared, so I decided to get into CWM to restore backup but I can't because when I open the CWM a lot of errors appears and always when I click "restore" appears it:
"E:unknown volume for path [/sdcard]
E:Can not mount /sdcard/ "
The error when the CWM starts is it:
CWM-based Recovery v5.5.0.4
E:failed to open /etc/recovery.fstab (No such file or directory)
E: unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/command]
E:Cant't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/log]
E:Cant't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Cant't open /cache/recovery/log
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/last_log]
E:Cant't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Cant't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E: unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/command]
If I reinstall the CWM using the RecoverX will work?
Thanks a lot

you just need to install the v4.7.2 first, clear dalvik cache and partition, open phone,go to settings>apps>all>cyber-shot>clear data & cache.
But that's the problem. Now I can't do anything on CWM because always show erros, can't install zip from sd card because says "Can't mount /sdcard/" and restore my backup. The only option that works is reboot to system.

Try reinstalling the cmw. Are you on custom kernel?
struggle ideskyp
No, the kernel is of stock rom.
I will try reinstall the cwm.
Press the volume down button continuously until the CWM menu open.

You should probably confirm:
-What your phone's actual model number is. (look on the label under the battery)
-What exactly it is you tried to flash. (a link would be helpful)
My guess is you probably tried to flash something not meant for your phone.
I installed CWM through RecoverX. However, when I go to cwm recovery or try do a nand backup of my rom (Stock everything, all I have done is rooted and unlocked bootloader) I get these errors:

E: open mount /cache/recovery/log
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/last_log]
E:can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log

I was attempting to install cyanogenmod, but am currently stuck here as I cannot backup my current stock rom.
Any help or links to a fix would be great, thanks.

I suggest you to flash a custom kernel since you've unlocked bootloader and custom kernels have CWM inbuilt in 'em

What version of android are you using?GB or ICS??
If you are using ICS I recommend Munjeni's CWM 5.5.0.4 touch recovery :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934093.If you plan to continue using CWM touch in CyanogenMod ,I suggest you flash Speedy U 3.0 kernel, after flashing CyanogenMod ,as it has integrated CWM 5.5.0.4 touch (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2203824)
I'm trying to install the rom miui in my neken n6
First I rooted the phone successfully, after I installed "rua1 autoCWM v5.5.0.4 for neken n6".
The problem is when I restart in recovery mode I get some errors in the beginning:
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
If I try to wipe data/factory reset i get:
"
E:format_volume: make_ext4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p7
Formatting /cache...
E:format_volume: make_ext4fs failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p6
Formatting /sd-ext...
No app2sd partition found. Skipping format of /sd-ext.
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure...
error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure!
Skipping format...
Data wipe complete.

E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
"
If I go to "mounts and storage" anything that I try to mount also gives error.
I restart the phone and nothing changed, all the data is still there.
Any help would be very very appreciated
Thanks

Hello guys,
Today, my phone suddenly restarted after I've updated my Smart Launcher Pro. And then booting stuck at bootlogo.
So, I tried to reboot my MMX A116 to recovery mode (CWM v6.0.4.4), but as it went into recovery mod, it shows me following errors:
Code:
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E: Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E: Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
Anything I do in recovery mode, like "wipe data/factory reset", or anythings, it shows me this error "Can't mount..."
Even I'm unable to mount phone as USB storage!
Please please please help. :crying:
My dad recently bought an HP 10 tablet from my uncle and asked me to root it...which was a mistake. I had a successful root with the Android-based version of King Root, cleaned it up with SuperSU Me, and thought everything was fine until I rebooted...and the tablet got stuck on the boot animation. Booting with the volume down button down resulted in just the HP logo, without the boot animation. Booting with the volume up button down booted into recovery. When I boot into recovery I'm greeted by this lovely message at the bottom:
Code:

adb was...weird. I verified the connection through adb devices, but most commands, including adb reboot bootloader, resulted in error: closed.

UPDATE.ZIP came from HP's download page. I just don't know what to do at this point.
Please help also having the same problem with my HP 8 G2 1411
You can't reboot in adb sideload, you can't do many things in adb sideload since it is intended for recovering from a brick and that is the only feature I know (if you have a custom recovery and want to do a clean install, you wipe every partition and then sideload it, so the sideload feature is intended for flashing), you can't reboot, I fired up my test device to confirm this and it was true. If you extract the .zip file, does it contain any .img files and .gz files?
Crap, somehow I missed this thread actually getting a reply. Thanks!
Yes, there is a boot.img file as well as a system folder containing what I'm used to seeing in the root directory.

Can you boot into the bootloader? It can be a weird combination by the way, my tablet is press and hold power button then one second later you'd have to press and hold volume down.
I'm not entirely sure what the bootloader looks like, so I don't know if I have. As mentioned in OP, I did manage to boot into something that just showed the HP logo and nothing else. In that stage I tried both adb devices and fastboot devices, but nothing showed up. Rebooting into recovery and picking apply update from ADB was the only way I was able to get it to be recognized by adb devices so far.

Extract the boot.img and then adb sideload it. Report result and log.
For your information, the boot.img is the kernel so you will basically reflash the kernel.
If I helped, hit "thanks" .
I got the same result for both update.zip files on the support website. boot.img was extracted using 7-zip both times.
Code:
C:\WINDOWS\System32>adb sideload boot.img
loading: 'boot.img'
* cannot read 'boot.img' *
