[Q] Where are performance settings? - HTC Amaze 4G

Running the [ROM][4.2]CyanogenMod 10.1 --> cm-10.1-20130405-UNOFFICIAL-ruby.zip
I'm s-on.
And I'd like to tweak some performance settings i found on the developer forum, but I notice I don't have 'performance' as an option within my system settings menu.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks in advance

Go into about phone all the way down to build number. Tap it about ten times really fast. That unlocks the performance settings

[HOW TO] Disable lock screen (solution)

Ever since I got my Atrix I've been searching for a way disable this annoying lock-screen, but couldn't find any good way. There is an app "no lock" witch worked somewhat ok, but had some quirks here and there.
Today I accidentally stumbled upon a key in a database that allow disable it once and for all.
You'll need SQLite Editor (or if you know how to manually write database queries...)
open com.motorola.android.providers.settings -> settings.db -> settings
Search for screen_lock and change value from 1 to 0
Reboot and enjoy Atrix with no lock screen whatsoever.
where exactly is that file located? my SQLlite editor doesnt see it....
Good find... actually works. My widgets didn't quite no what to think, since a good part of them usually load behind the scenes... bogged down the launcher initially, but caught back up without any problems. Widget locker still works too.
You should post this in the general section.

Is that in GB 2.3.4? In stock 2.2.1 sqlite editor shows it as com.motorola.android.providers.settings
theres an app call "battery indicator pro" which can disable lock screen very well. i have it disable my Atrix's lock screen by accident and it worked great.

How to get Screen Mode on AT&T GSII to adjust Saturation

If you go to the link below, you'll see owners of the I9100 have the option to change their saturation levels in Settings > Display > Screen mode. Why don't we have it and can we get it? I want to change the saturation levels of my screen and would like to have the option like I9100 owners.

It's disabled in Settings, it's one line of smali to reenable. Serendipity 8 has it, I think Unnamed has it now, most Hellraised ROMs should have it.
Yep, Unnamed and Cognition both have the setting
Cool thanks guys. I'm downloading UnNamed right now.

Tips on making SGH-i527 snappy

Aside from turning off animation, is there anything else that can be done to improve UI performance(snap) on this unit?
I heard and read somewhere if you use nova launcher to change the icons (UI) instead of using the touchwiz (UI) ones it will be quite a bit faster i heard, i have not tried it myself yet .

As per your recommendation, I downloaded and installed Nova launcher.
As it turns out, I liked it so much that I bought the Prime version.
Excellent util.
If you have Nova and take out 'icon labels' it even makes it snappier, not for some people but it does help even further. I really like touchwiz but the lag is awful.
Nice to hear that I am going to have to try it also then and see it for myself..enjoy it forsure as it suppose to make the mega more snappier.

My particular unit is from Bell mobility.
Any idea what would be considered bloatware on those units?
If you don't use it... it is bloatware
A good practice is to disable or hide as many apps as possible, and if you have to enable them or un-hide them... keep them.
bloatware for some = essential utility for others.
I love using my phone as an IR remote when my significant lady has the real remote in her hand... take back the power!

Good point. I posted a list of all the stuff I disabled in the benchmark thread. Ive since disabled even more. Hiding the apps does nothing to free up resources. These is a ton of apps that would really never get used.
True... hiding apps does nothing for performance... but hiding is sometimes a "better" option for the squeamish.
I use the same idea for possessions... put things in storage... if you dont use them after X amount of days/weeks/months then "delete" them.
out of sight, out of use, off of phone soon after

Go into developer options and set the animations to "0"..
If you don't see the developer options, then you need to go into SETTINGS - MORE - ABOUT DEVICE and tap the build number a bunch of times and you'll get a message that developer options have been enabled.

Q&A for [ROM][V8.0] Dirty Unicorns 4.4.4 [i9100]

Screen recording - Dirty Unicorns 8.0
Hi, can someone tell me how to enable screen recording on dirty unicorns 8.0. While i used paranoid in past, i'll get it in power menu. But i don't get such option here. Also, while checking settings, i noticed only 1 settings where it gives choice of recording audio from mic while screen recording, but no option that tells me how to enable screen recording. Would like to have OTA update included in dirty unicorn since i love it a lot and that feature is missing on it.
Can I dirty flash v8.0 on top of v7.9? I really don't want to lose my data.
Update GS2
Sorry when version 8.1 will come out for the GS2 will come out or not ? Thanks

He sold his device and so he can't work on any more updates to i9100 since he can't test them on it. And DU only supports the devices that they own. Only hope if Ross Korolov can continue the ROM for our phone.

You can remove the immersive mode or expanded screen from the notification drawer directly
If this is not possible then go to settings--> power menu add option and add immersive/expanded mode to it
Now you can access from anyscreen by directly longpressing the power button
